After that weird mistake by whatever divine intern was working overtime, I ended up reincarnated as… an elf?
At least, I think I'm an elf. I've never heard of elves in my previous world—there were fae, sure, but not "elves." Maybe I got tossed into a completely different world altogether.
Fantastic.
Even better? I've spent the last week or so drinking milk like an addict. My new mother barely lets me go anywhere, and getting my diaper changed with the mind of an adult? Yeah. Mortifying. Absolute rock bottom.
From what I've seen, the house is built from wood and has a cozy, rustic feel—so I'm guessing we're not nobles or anything. Just your average rural family.
Sometimes, I catch a glimpse through the window. Endless fields and greenery. Father's probably a farmer. He usually comes home tired but always plays with me, grinning like I'm the greatest thing in the world. Mom's always cooking, cleaning, and smothering me with affection.
They're… actually a pretty attractive couple, I won't lie.
Guess that means I'm going to grow up handsome, huh? Not bad.
Well, not that it matters now. I can't move an inch. My limbs are like noodles. I try rolling around in my crib just to do something, but it's a struggle.
I hate being a baby.
At the very least, can I use magic? That would be a win.
I focus hard one morning while Mom's busy cooking. I try to gather mana in my tiny hands. I know I could manipulate it before—should be muscle memory by now.
But nothing happens.
What?
Where the hell's all my mana training?!
"Mehh! Maaahh!"
I try making sounds to cast something—anything. Instead, my mom rushes over.
"Leon, are you hungry again? Aww, don't cry. Mama's got you~"
She whips out her breast like it's the most natural thing in the world.
No, please, not again—
"Uegh…"
"Hmm?"
I try squirming away, but that just makes her push me closer. In the struggle, something clicks in my memory.
The divine screw-up mentioned something before reincarnating me.
"Say 'Status'..."
I clear my throat—or try to—and whisper, "Sta…tus…"
And then…
A glowing, semi-transparent projection pops up in front of me. A floating screen of light. A system?
Mom doesn't react. She can't see it.

[Do you wish to fix the errors? It might take an indefinite amount of time.]
…Are you kidding me?
What is this? Some kind of broken magical artifact? I've heard of relics, but this thing is half-fried and filled with bugs. A thousand errors? No fixed time to repair?
Is this even fixable?
[Errors can be fixed at a later date.]
Helpful.

Alright… I have skills, stats, and a class. But some of these numbers make zero sense. Why the hell is my Luck in the negatives? Am I cursed?
And what kind of class is "Farmer"? That's not exactly hero-tier.
"Royal Elven Lineage"… That's at least interesting. So I'm half-royalty?
Let's try out Ember. I focus hard, visualizing the flame in my mind.
"Ember."
A tiny flicker of fire dances out of my hand—barely visible before vanishing.
Poof.
…That's it?
What a joke. I feel betrayed.
And the status screen didn't change. No drop in MP or anything. Am I supposed to guess how much magic I'm using?
I open the screen again. Still MP: 20/20.
If MP means Mana Points, shouldn't it decrease when I use Ember? Why doesn't it?
Do I just have infinite mana?
Or maybe the system's too broken to track my stats properly?
Either way, it's weird.
Even though nothing changed on the system screen, I still feel tired after using magic repeatedly. I lie back in the crib, panting softly.
This is going to be tough.
But no matter what, I'm not wasting this second life. I won't be weak again. I won't let another group of bandits take everything from me.
That's my goal now. To protect my new family. To grow strong again—even stronger than before.
Even if this "gift" of a system is a glitchy mess, I'll make it work.
---
Later that day, while practicing Mana Usage by rolling around and gathering mana in my hands, I felt something—my body got just a little more responsive. Still exhausting, though. I flopped on my side and sighed.
I checked my status again.
No changes. At all.
This system… is busted beyond repair.
Still, if I can keep using magic without burning through MP, maybe I can exploit it. Infinite training time?
Unless the whole "level up" thing is also broken…

Elsewhere…
In a space beyond mortal understanding, the divine being who had reincarnated Leon watched through a ripple in time.
"Hmm… He reincarnated as a half-elf. Looks stable…"
Then, a pulse of divine energy struck him like a hammer.
"Ghh—! What…?!"
The being staggered back as part of his essence was siphoned away.
"This system… it took a chunk of my power?!"
He checked Leon's stats again, frowning.
"His stats are… frozen? No loss in HP or MP? Don't tell me…"
His expression twisted in dawning horror.
"…This kid… he's unbreakable."
And for the first time, the god realized what he had created.
A true anomaly.
