How hilarious. Or should I say funny.
No, ironic is a more fitting word
the fact that so many of us feel so alone
every time we're in pain, hiding in the dark
So when others pass by, they miss the broken pieces
that were once your body, your heart, your soul
And as you hide away from prying eyes
you feel as if you're the only one that understands
Understands the pain of being broken,
the pain of being in pieces, the pain of being alone
How hilarious. No, funny. No, ironic.
that so many people can feel the exact same way
but yet believe no one else can understand them
Well maybe it's because it's hard to see the broken pieces of others
when they're all hiding too, the same just like you
in the darkness of their hearts, in the shadows of their pasts,
in the nightmares that spread their fears
It's hard to see that some of the people that stand the tallest,
smile the brightest, look the happiest
They're all but children inside each time the pain hits
How hilarious. No, funny. No, ironic.
That people always hide their pain
It's not like it can heal on its own
Most of the time it needs medical treatment
We have therapists for a reason,
The mind is a delicate organ and may need professional help
But it's not the only part that needs the care of another
A doctor to heal the scars of your broken body
Or maybe an artist to paint in colors into the cracks of your heart
so when you give it to someone else
it looks like a piece of art instead of a broken doll
If not at least the help of someone please
Because it's hard to glue back the broken pieces by yourself
Especially when each piece cuts you after each try,
You might feel like giving up but that's why you need someone else
Someone to help you, to encourage you,
to make you realize you are not by yourself, not anymore
But it's hard for people to help
when you've hidden your pain in the deepest part of a war zone,
Hidden behind booby traps and Barbed fence wires
You keep the pain Chained and locked away
Hoping it will never see the light of day
How hilarious. No, funny. No, ironic.
7.53 billion people live on earth
7.53 billion people that are living their life, separate or connected to you
7.53 billion people that are strangers if you believe you are alone
Strangers that might just understand you
Strangers that might want to help you
Strangers that might become your friends
So don't be afraid to show others just how much of a mess you really are
To reveal your hidden trauma that your past has left
To reveal the scars that reality has gifted to you
And mistakes that haunt your subconscious like a ghost
They do not make you weak
or any less of a person that you already are
They speak of your battles and your losses
But at the end of the day you are still the winner
Because you are still alive to show them
They tell others that you have survived
Some might judge you
but that just goes to show that they weren't the right ones
The ones that may understand you are still waiting for you
You might think of them as strangers now
But some strangers are not meant to be strangers forever
We all need to start from somewhere
And sometimes that somewhere is rock bottom
How hilarious. No, funny. No, ironic. No, it's just life.
