Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 - You're the miHoYo Scriptwriter?

[Did Miss Mei just say the word 'scriptwriter'?]

[That's right, it sounded like she said miHoYo's scriptwriter!]

[miHoYo's scriptwriter? Hehehe~~ I have a 'big treasure' I'd like to send him. I really f***ing want to thank him properly! (Knife emote) (Knife emote) (Knife emote)]

And someone, it's unknown who, spread the news that Honkai Impact 3rd's scriptwriter had appeared in Elysia's livestream.

More and more people, numbed by the tragedy of "The Last Lesson," flooded into the livestream.

They united in their efforts to denounce the scriptwriter.

The seething emotions felt as if they could scorch the person on the other end of the internet cable.

Mei couldn't help but lean back, distancing herself from the screen.

The girls also turned their gazes to Su Luo, wanting to see his reaction.

Su Luo did indeed feel a bit guilty, but he didn't show it outwardly.

He pondered for a moment beside them.

He waited until Mei swapped her headphones for a microphone and changed the audio output to speakers.

Then, speaking into the microphone with Otto's voice, he said:

"Good afternoon, everyone. I am miHoYo's scriptwriter."

[???]

[???]

First, a wave of question marks, then a chorus of shouted questions.

[Did I hear that right? Is that Otto's voice? Let me sort this out... so Otto equals miHoYo's scriptwriter?]

[No wonder the main story is such a knife-fest. If Otto himself is behind it, then I understand... Understand jack shit! Otto, if you have any guts, show your health bar!]

[My killing intent towards Otto instantly rose by three hundred percent.]

[Otto's voice actor actually moonlights as miHoYo's scriptwriter? I honestly didn't expect that.]

There's a lot more you haven't expected, Su Luo thought. Mei is miHoYo's artist, Bronya is miHoYo's programmer...

While吐槽ing internally, Su Luo adjusted his mindset. Anyway, they're flaming Otto. What does that have to do with me, Su Luo!

He smiled faintly and said, "It seems everyone has strong opinions about the main story."

Before the audience could respond with bullet comments, Elysia's voice came through the speakers: "Should I address you as Mr. Su, or Mr. Otto?"

Hearing that familiar vocal timbre, Su Luo was finally certain that the other party was indeed Elysia.

"As you wish, beautiful Miss Elysia."

"I didn't expect Mr. Otto to be so silver-tongued." Elysia offered a brief pleasantry before returning to the main topic: "So, Mr. Otto, regarding 'The Last Lesson,' is there anything you'd like to say to everyone in the livestream, to all the Honkai Impact 3rd players?"

"Ahem." Su Luo cleared his throat, preparing to speak.

Although encountering Elysia's livestream was unexpected, he had actually considered being asked this question.

However.

Tap~~ Tap~~

Someone suddenly walked forward.

"Could you let me speak to everyone?" Himeko proactively suggested to Su Luo.

Su Luo looked at her for a moment, then nodded lightly. "Perhaps you are more suitable."

He made way for Himeko.

"Hello everyone, I'm Himeko."

[Holy crap? Himeko!]

[Excuse me, are all you miHoYo voice actors having a party right now?]

[I bet Himeko is definitely cursing out the scriptwriter for being inhuman!]

[Lol, I suggest Himeko gives Otto a good thrashing! Don't even say it, just imagining that scene makes me ascend with satisfaction.]

"Well, he and I get along very harmoniously in real life," Himeko first replied in a lighthearted tone. Then, after a short pause, her voice became firm and steady when she spoke again.

"Regarding 'The Last Lesson,' I have a lot I want to say..."

"I understand everyone's desire to rail against the scriptwriter, but I genuinely believe the scriptwriter did an excellent job shaping the character of Himeko..."

Her voice wasn't overly impassioned. She simply distilled all of Himeko's main story arcs up to that point, recounting them to the audience word by word, yet it was inexplicably captivating.

Finally, she even smiled and said, "I'm very grateful to miHoYo for entrusting such a character to me. Although her story ends here, and I also feel regret, her story was truly wonderful."

[Miss Himeko is right.]

After most of the agitated people quieted down, the "Rational Party" began to surface.

A certain "Doctor" was even leading the charge, posting long paragraphs of analysis, making one truly suspect if she had twenty fingers.

[From a narrative perspective, the character Himeko perfectly embodied her threefold identity: as an elder, a teacher, and a Valkyrie.

As an elder, she stepped forward when all the children were defeated, buying time for everyone.

As a teacher, she led by example, delivering a perfect "last lesson" for Kiana and everyone on the Hyperion.

As a Valkyrie, she feared no powerful enemy, faced adversity head-on, and even when confronting a "god," she resolved to protect humanity from the Honkai until her very last moment.]

[With a mortal body, she stood shoulder to shoulder with gods.]

After the person prone to lengthy discourses had had their say.

Ordinary viewers started to pop up again.

[Is this what you call a pro?]

[I suddenly feel like I don't belong in this livestream.]

[We're still raging impotently, and the pros have already praised Himeko to the heavens. As a Himeko fan, I'm so touched.]

[Thinking about it carefully, if it weren't for "The Last Lesson," Himeko would probably still be an unremarkable character, right? Still, the scriptwriter must die!!]

[Forget it, forget it. I'm going to change my one-star review for Honkai Impact 3rd back.]

...

Thanks to Himeko's personal account, the players' anger finally subsided to a certain extent.

The people at miHoYo studio breathed a collective sigh of relief upon seeing the situation improve.

Kiana couldn't help but approach Himeko and praise her, "Auntie Himeko, you're amazing!"

"I told you not to call me Auntie Himeko!"

"..."

[Kiana is there too! The miHoYo voice actors really are having an offline gathering!]

Su Luo blinked, preparing to ride the livestream's hype for a bit of promotion. He walked up to Mei, who was still seated, and said:

"Don't we still have one last CG short film that hasn't been released? You can send it to Elysia now and have her play it for the livestream audience."

Upon hearing this.

Mei suddenly remembered. She did indeed have a thirty-second short film that hadn't been released yet.

"Okay, I'll send it to Airi right away."

Mei privately messaged Elysia on the chat software and sent her the short film.

Soon.

Elysia reacted on her end of the livestream.

"Everyone, Mei suddenly sent me a short film and wants me to play it for you."

"Mei~ says it's a very ordinary short film."

[miHoYo also said the main story was very heartwarming back then. Miss Elf, whatever you do, don't fall for it!]

[If I watch another one of miHoYo's short films, I'm a dog!]

"But this is miHoYo's new short film." Elysia asked, somewhat troubled, "Aren't you even a little curious about what it's about?"
