Kai Winters was never an ordinary child. Born with shimmering blue eyes and soft, pastel-pink hair, he was a sight that could stop hearts—and raise eyebrows. From the very beginning, his appearance sparked questions. His parents, both grounded and rational, went through DNA testing to be sure he was their biological child.
The results came back clear. He was theirs. The doctors gave them a strange theory: he might be suffering from a rare genetic anomaly. But for Kai's parents, none of that mattered. They were captivated by his charm, overwhelmed by his cuteness. His mother, especially, couldn't stop kissing his chubby cheeks, while his stern, stoic father—an officer in the local police force—even started taking leave from work just to spend more time with his boy.
Their home sat in a peaceful village untouched by the fast, chaotic world of cities. No smartphones. No concrete jungles. Just fields, neighbors who knew each other, and quiet roads. His mother, a gentle Vietnamese woman who had once been a teacher, made the choice to raise Kai away from modern chaos.
She taught him everything—language, geography, values—and shared stories of superheroes that protected the weak and punished the wicked. These tales became Kai's world. His father, a Russian by blood and discipline, had moved to the village for her. He didn't believe in big cities or shallow relationships. He had seen too much of that back home.
By the age of three, Kai could already recite the names of countries, speak clearly, and absorb lessons like a sponge. His mother, protective to the bone, shielded him from the internet and any outside influence that might poison his innocence.
The village adored him. Girls' families would occasionally make playful marriage offers, charmed by his uniqueness, but his mother always declined. "Let him choose," she'd say with a calm smile.
When Kai turned twelve, his parents decided he needed formal education. So they moved to Kentucky. And that's when things started to change.
The schools in the city were different—chaotic, loud, and filled with people who saw kindness as weakness. Kai was still the same boy, polite and focused. But his beauty drew attention—the wrong kind. Teachers manipulated him, trying to trade grades for affection. Girls clung to him, whispering twisted fantasies. He never gave in. Because when he was five, something unusual happened.
A translucent blue screen had appeared in front of his vision one night.

It faded as quickly as it had appeared. But the words etched themselves into his mind. From then on, he resisted every temptation, every advance. It was difficult. His beauty made him a magnet for all the wrong people. But he endured. Because he believed that something greater awaited him. Something like the heroes from his childhood stories.
And then, on the morning of his eighteenth birthday, it happened.
Kai opened his eyes slowly, sunlight dancing across his face. His hair was longer now, soft pink locks falling over his brows, and his sapphire eyes still glowed with that hypnotic intensity. He sat up on his bed, stretching. And then it appeared.

His breath caught. "System," he said.
A digital screen floated into view, pulsing with blue light.

Kai blinked. "Succubus Charm? Seriously?"
He had expected flight or laser eyes—or at least something that could blast a wall. Not… seduction.
But before he could complain more, the clock ticked. He was going to be late.
He grabbed his jacket, combed through his thick hair, and headed out. His bike roared to life, and he drove to college. As he parked, dozens of girls turned to look. He was a legend in his college: The Cold Prince. Always aloof, always perfect.
He pulled off his helmet, letting his silky pink hair fall into place. His blue eyes scanned the campus casually. Just then, a familiar voice called out.
"Hey Kai! Big party tonight—Maria's birthday bash. She invited you personally!"
Kai raised a brow. "So you weren't invited?"
His friend Bobby chuckled awkwardly. "Yeah, but if I'm with you, I'm in."
"Figures," Kai said with a smirk. "Let's see if she really wants me there."
As they started walking up the stairs, a group of girls intercepted him. Leading them was Maria's friend, known for her bold attitude.
"Kai," she said with a fake smile, "you're coming to the party tonight. Or else your precious bike might not survive the week."
She leaned in too close, pressing the invite into his shirt collar. "Don't keep us waiting."
Then she turned and walked off with her group.
Bobby's mouth hung open. "You're warned with hugs, bro. I'm warned with fists."
Kai shook his head, read the invitation, and headed to class. He didn't seem phased. But something inside him was shifting.
Later that evening, Bobby and Kai dressed for the party in Bobby's room. Kai told his aunt he was visiting his friends birthday. It wasn't a complete lie. Just a detour.
As they reached the party, the house was lit with fairy lights, loud music blaring from inside. They handed their invitation to the gatekeepers and stepped into a buzzing crowd.
"Stay close," Bobby warned. "Last time some girls nearly drugged your drink."
"I'll be careful," Kai replied.
As they entered the dance floor, girls flocked around him, brushing their fingers over his arms, leaning close. But Kai's eyes were elsewhere. In the darker corners of the room, something was happening. Something off.
He pushed through the crowd and found them—Maria, Joanna, and Bella. The three queens of the campus.
Maria stood and smiled, a little too wide. "Well, well. You really showed up."
He sat across from them, blue eyes calm but calculating.
"Where's Bobby?" he asked.
Gone.
The party had just begun, and already the night was turning strange.
But Kai wasn't afraid.
Not anymore.
