The golden morning sun slipped through the curtains like warm syrup.
Inside the modest room, Lucas lay sprawled across his bed, arms and legs flung out like a starfish. He snored softly, a content smile on his face.
"Goal... pass… shoot… goaaal…"
Even in sleep, he was chasing glory on the pitch.
Knock knock!
A familiar voice rang from outside the room.
"Lucas! It's already 8 AM! Wake up!"
It was Marie—his mom.
...No reply. Just more sleep talk about the World Cup final.
"I said wake up!" she yelled again, this time opening the door and marching in with the fury of a coach down by two goals at halftime.
Still nothing.
Marie narrowed her eyes, then muttered with a wicked grin,
"You asked for this…"
With zero hesitation, she launched herself onto the bed like a human wrecking ball, crash-landing right on top of Lucas.
"WAKE UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!"
"GWAHHHHHHH!?"
Lucas's eyes shot open. His tongue lolled out of his mouth like a defeated anime character.
"What the hell, Mom?!" he groaned. "You almost killed me!"
Marie just laughed. "Oh, please! You're a strong young man now!"
Lucas blinked, still half-asleep.
"I'm just a kid in his twenties…"
(Author: Kuro — But you're 40, bro. LOL)
"Come on," Marie said, grinning. "Get ready for class. Breakfast is on the table!"
"Class…?" Lucas mumbled. "Wait… I have to go to class…?"
He paused.
His brain did a full-on loading screen.
Then it hit him.
Oh right… I'm 20… I'm still a student…
(Kuro: Uffffff… really?)
Downstairs, Lucas sat at the table. Hair still a mess. Dressed—barely.
He dug into toast and eggs, the smell already putting him in a better mood.
"Okay, Mom. I'm leaving," Lucas said, grabbing his bag.
"Take care, love!" Marie called back. "Have a great day!"
Lucas waved as he turned toward the living room.
"Dad! I'm heading out. TC!"
From behind the morning paper, Philippe peeked out, clearly surprised to hear his son up and out this early.
He coughed and nodded. "Oh… right. Take care. Come home on time."
Lucas gave a quick thumbs-up and walked out the door.
Click.
The house fell silent again.
Lucas stood before the towering gates of Phoenix Crest Academy.
The size, the atmosphere, the energy—it all felt overwhelming.
So this is the college, huh?
I don't know why… but it already feels boring.
Hurry up and end this class... awwwwww...
Hours later…
The bell rang.
Sweet, sweet freedom.
"Finally! Some football time! Yahoooooooooooooooooo!!!"
(Kuro: You are NOT a kid. LOL)
End of Chapter 3
Author's Note
Hey everyone!
I know this chapter isn't very long—sorry about that!
I'm just a student juggling studies, work, and writing (which I love the most 💙).
I really wanted to write more, but this felt like a natural place to end things for now.
Thanks so much for sticking with me! 🙏
More fun, football chaos is coming soon! ⚽🔥
