Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Celestial Dragons Annihilate a Nation Every Three Years...

The Inheritance of the Apex Predator: The Vampire King, Alucard!

...

Calm Belt, Grand Line.

Impel Down — the world's greatest prison.

Deep within the eternal darkness of Level 6, also known as Infinite Hell,

In a small, lightless stone cell,

A man lay slumped against the wall on the cold stone floor, motionless.

His body was emaciated, nothing but skin and bone.

His breathing was faint. So faint that it felt as though he could die at any moment.

COUGH, COUGH...

Suddenly, a rough cough broke the silence.

His murky eyes slowly opened, revealing a chilling glint of murderous intent.

'World Government... Gorōsei... Figar and Garin... Imu...'

"...".

The man muttered softly, so quietly that only he could hear himself.

His name was Rokuya.

What no one knew was that he wasn't originally from this world.

He was a transmigrator.

Like many other characters in stories like this, he had stumbled into this world by pure chance.

However, he never expected to arrive in the One Piece world only for his system to never activate.

Without any powers or cheats, and with only the body of a child to protect him in a brutal world full of pirates, survival had been nearly impossible.

Of course, even as a child, Rokuya had watched the anime. He knew the original plot well, though truthfully he'd stopped watching after Gol D. Roger died. [TN: A common joke among fans is that they stopped following after Roger's death.]

Still, he accepted reality.

He knew this was a pirate world, full of cutthroats and lunatics.

This was especially true in the Grand Line, where pirates were more common than grains of rice.

So he never dared wander carelessly.

Luckily, fate gave him a chance.

During a royal hunt in the Kingdom of Atlanta, the elderly king, frustrated at having caught nothing, happened to encounter the young Rokuya on his way back.

For some reason, the king felt a strange connection with him.

He brought Rokuya back to the palace.

The king had no heirs left. All of his children had been killed, either on the battlefield or by pirates.

After investigating Rokuya's background and finding nothing suspicious, the old king grew increasingly fond of him.

Eventually, he adopted Rokuya as his son and heir to the throne.

Had fate permitted, Rokuya might have become king one day.

But fate is cruel.

That peace didn't last.

The Kingdom of Atlanta was rich in natural resources, yet it could not afford the Celestial Dragons' enormous 'Heavenly Tribute'.

As a result, they were deemed a non-affiliated nation.

In other words, they became prey.

'An innocent man is killed for his treasures.' That was exactly what happened here.

The nightmare began.

The Celestial Dragons, the degenerate tyrants of the World Government, chose Atlanta as the target of their next 'hunt'.

If you know the truth about God Valley, you will be familiar with the horrors.

Every three years, the Celestial Dragons hold a twisted tradition: the Human Hunting Festival.

They pick a non-affiliated island, and then descend upon it in droves.

A slaughter begins.

They kill every native inhabitant, wiping them all out.

Then the World Government declares ownership of the land.

Only monsters like the Gorōsei and their kin could dream up this barbaric 'festival'.

It's all about appearances.

Affiliated nations form the basis of the World Government — they wouldn't slaughter them lightly, otherwise no one would ever join.

So they always pick unaffiliated nations.

Nations rich in resources are prime targets.

They can't be too powerful, either.

Take Wano, Zou and Elbaf, for example — those non-affiliated nations are strong. If the Celestial Dragons attacked them, they would pay dearly.

What about the Kamabakka Kingdom? That's where the Revolutionary Army is based. Not even a Celestial Dragon would come back alive.

For all these reasons...

The Celestial Dragons chose Atlanta.

Disaster then fell upon the nation.

For young Rokuya, the 'Human Hunt' was a living nightmare.

So how did he survive?

Because one of the Gorōsei spared him: Saint Jaygarcia Saturn, the so-called 'Warrior God of Science and Defence'.

But that wasn't an act of mercy.

In the original plot, Jaygarcia Saturn is a cold-blooded monster who sees humans as nothing more than ants. "Even if they die, they'll just breed more," he once said.

He orchestrated the Bartholomew Kuma family tragedy.

He was a twisted scientist.

Because he saw humans as disposable, he experimented on them — babies included. He enjoyed torturing his test subjects.

Eventually.

Several years ago, Rokuya was sent to Impel Down by World Government agents after a series of unspeakable events.

He has remained there ever since.

COUGH, COUGH!

His body continued to break down.

Time passed slowly — day turned into night.

Outside, the moon was beautiful.

Inside, however, it was hell on earth.

As his head pounded and he began to drift into unconsciousness again...

A strange, mechanical voice echoed in his mind:

A clear, synthetic, loli-like voice.

It instantly shocked him awake.

'Was that a system voice?!'

His eyes widened. The sleepiness vanished completely.

'After all these years... finally... it's here...'

In this timeless abyss, he had no idea how much time had passed.

Ten seconds later.

DING!

Multiverse Character Template System — Successfully Activated!

A flood of character profiles filled his mind:

Kuroryūten, Wu Liuqi the Assassin, Zhiqiang, Sesshomaru, Mayuri, Aizen, Nezha.

The voice continued to explain.

The function was simple:

The system would randomly select a powerful character template and grant the user that character's abilities.

As the host, Rokuya wouldn't be limited to that character's growth potential.

He could surpass them.

'Late, but not never.'

'After all these years...'

'I can finally get out of this damned place!'

This dark hole had nearly driven him insane.

Newbie Package: Character template distribution incoming!

Please stand by for receipt.

One minute later:

"System…"

Open it.'

Rokuya muttered calmly.

And then—

Images flashed before his eyes:

Aizen, the untouchable boss who needed no backup.

Yamamoto, the old man with the Ryūjin Jakka who could burn the world down.

Zhiqiang, who could shatter the sky with five trees every three years.

And just as his mind reeled with possibilities...

DING!

Congratulations! Newbie Package Unlocked.

You've obtained the character template: Vampire King Alucard!

You will now begin the process of inheriting and integrating this power.

The voice faded.

Rokuya froze.

"... Alucard?"

He wasn't unfamiliar with the name.

Alucard — the protagonist of the legendary, ultra-violent series Hellsing.

A royal agent of the Hellsing Organisation.

The Vampire King with near-immortality.

A walking nightmare with infinite lives.

From the moment he first appears, he sits at the very top of the food chain.

Through battle, he earns even more lives — a truly broken ability.

And now, that power belongs to him.
