The sky turns dark, and the chirps of birds slowly disappear. Sa-iq has just returned home after being out all night with his friends. Layla stood right in front of the door, furious at the fact Sa-iq stayed out for so long. Sa-iq opens the door to his house, not expecting anyone to still be awake. Even though it was only 9pm, by this time Layla would usually be sleeping and Sara would be in her room. Sa-iq starts bending his body to take off his shoes, he noticed Layla standing there, he raised his head to look at his mom. Her face looking angrier than usual.
"Where were you? You should not be out so late." Asked Layla, her arms still crossed.
"Why does it matter to you? You suddenly care for me?" Said Sa-iq while mocking her. Layla then let her arms go free and walked over to Sa-iq who was still bent over and taking off his shoes. She then suddenly grabs Sa-iqs head and forces his mouth open. Sa-iq gets shocked by this sudden movement and by instincts gets her off him by electrocuting her a little.
"You, I noticed it some days ago and the thought hasn't left my mind, why is your tooth back?" Said Layla while holding her injured arm.
"The hell is wrong with you? You don't just come over to me and force your fingers down my throat!" He snapped.
"Answer me!" She responded.
"I don't fucking know!" Said Sa-iq before he began walking towards his room. As he walked past Layla she tried to hold on to his arm, however he brushed off, not caring a tiny bit towards her right now. Sa-iq closed the door behind him loudly. Layla kept staring at his door, her mind in a total race. She then clutched her head, those intrusive thoughts she kept getting, keep making more and more sense as she realizes that her theory might be right.
Layla put her hands in her vision, images of bleeding hands flashing through her vision as she kept looking. She saw an image that terrified her. She saw the image of Sa-iq, all bloodied up and eating through corpses, who were so mutilated that she couldn't even tell their identities. She yelled a little and came back to her senses.
"Am I... am I going insane?" She questioned.
"But.... how else would he regenerate? IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!" She yelled before punching the wall beside her. She slowly got up and walked towards the kitchen and took out the shelf full of kitchen equipment. She then took out a big kitchen knife and laid it on the board. She rose her head and opened the kitchen counter, taking out a bottle of water that had some DER inserted into it. The bottle was small and wasn't see through, it was also hard to get access to. As no one has a good reason to buy such an item. She spilled the water on the knife and felt the flat side of the knife, once she felt the feeling of wetness, she knew that there was no coming back. She put out the light of the kitchen, and slowly walked back towards her room. After she sat on her bed, she picked up her phone and put an alarm for an hour from now, her heart was beating so badly that it practically pressed on the button itself. But she gave in and pressed "save." Her timer will go off in an hour.
The alarm started going off. Layla got up from her bed and turned it off, her thoughts never allowed her to sleep, the alarm was simply a mere reminder to her. She walked out of her room. holding the knife in her right hand. She was now standing in the middle of the house, her head turning to the right. Her eyes stared directly into Sa-iqs door. She slowly opened the door to his room, wanting to make sure that he was asleep. Sa-iq laid there, his spit slowly getting out of his mouth and falling towards his pillow. Layla slowly stepped into his room, each step bringing her closer to insanity
Sara had woken up from Laylas alarm, she woke up confused and went outside her room to check what was going on. Seeing Layla go into Sa-iqs room was one of the last thing sleepy Sara expected to see, half of Laylas body, including her right hand, was not visible to Sara from that angle. So she slowly followed her to see what was going on.
Saras eyelids were practically fighting a battle, her entire body wanting to go back to sleep. However she just had to see why Layla was going into Sa-iqs room, something like this only happens once in a lifetime. Her eyes opened up after she noticed the tool which was invisible from her POV. Layla, was holding a knife and it looked like she was about to attack Sa-iq!
Layla was hesitating at first, her hands shaking so much that she almost dropped the knife.
"MOM WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!?" Yelled Sara. Layla got so shocked by this that she stopped hesitating and attacked Sa-iq in his sleep. While she went after his neck, she managed to miss and cut him on his chest. The cut was so deep that it might've reached his heart. Sa-iqs body moved a little but quickly froze, the only thing in his body still moving are his lungs. Layla rose her arm wanting to strike again and hit. However Sara immediately put her hands around Layla and put her to the ground. Sara was tearing and she had no idea what to do.
"Tsk, let me go Sara! I am doing this for the better of us! Sa-iq will kill us all!" Said Layla in desperation.
"THE HELL ARE YOU TALING ABOUT?" Yelled Sara, her arms crossed and stopping Layla from getting up and continuing to do what she was doing.
Sa-iq then slowly gets off his bed, a creepy smile ran across his face. Both Layla and Sara noticed him, and both of their expressions from anger turned to fear.
"Sa-Saiq?" Sara stuttered.
Sa-iq began looking at his hand, its now completely white and his nails are abnormally large.
"Ah damn it, this bitch was so close to dying that his body subconsciously switched to me to survive." Said the creature.
"Who are you? Let Sa-iq go!" Said Sara after standing up ready to attack if it was necessary.
"But this kid does have an interesting ability, I guess I'll use his ability instead of mine and see how useful it is. I don't know if you're watching this or not Sa-iq, but watch me and learn." Said the demon. In the blink of an eye, the demon travelled towards Sara, electricity following him. He started charging up a ball of electricity from his hand and released it before Sara could even react. The ball hit in a space right between Sara and Layla, the impact being so powerful that they were both flung. Sara got pushed right through the wall and fell on the ground outside. The impact and electricity being too much and knocking her out. Layla not being a Dermine made her die on the spot.
"Hmpf, I feel weaker than usual, probably because this rat is trying to regain control."
Sa-iqs phone suddenly started ringing, the demon looked down at its waist and took out the phone out of its pocket.
EMERGENCY. UNKOWN ENTITY HAS BREACHED THE CITY. PLEASE STAY INSIDE UNTIL THE AGENCY CONFIRMS SAFETY OUTSIDE.
"Heh, they already know about me. Humans really are getting better with their technology." He said to himself. The demon then rushed outside and started dashing around the block. He was going so fast that he was practically drawing a line made of electricity around the block. He then started aiming his hand at one of the buildings and released a bolt of lightning at the building. The building was vaporized. The demon then went over a roof of another building and stood atop it looking down at the town.
"I feel the presence of DER outside of my own." He said. He then looked behind him and saw 2 people running towards him
"What the hell is happening?" Asked Sami
"I don't kn-" Sam was cut off after the demon had travelled 50 meters in an instance. While the 2 kids were looking towards the building in front of them, the demon stood in between and was facing the opposite direction. They both froze after feeling a tad bit of the demons DER.
"I think a demon attacked." Said the demon mockingly.
"Sa-iq?" Stuttered Sami after slowly looking to his right and seeing the demon.
"No it's not Sa-iq, this guy is on a whole another level!" Thought Sam to himself. The demon struck the both of them and flung them to the opposite sides, they both crashed into some building, the impact of them crashing injured some people
"Tsk, why are they all so weak." Said the demon to himself. He could suddenly feel an overwhelming presence behind him. He looked behind him and started smiling.
"Hah, finally someone on my level, am I right? Normine Abimbola." Said the demon
"Sa-iq? No, it has to be some demon who took the form of Sa-iq." She thought to herself
"Who are you?" Asked Normine
"Oh yeah that's right, you can't tell me actual identity, you all see me as Sa-iq Shawket, someone who suddenly turned into a demon, oh well. You can pretend that I'm Sa-iq, Normine." He said.
"Just because you look like Sa-iq wont mean that I will hold back. Stand ready." Said Normine. The demon was just to respond until he noticed Normine lunging towards him. Normine then puts her hand in front of her and lights it up to flash the demon. The demon gets blinded temporarily and Normine gives it a deadly blow. The demon gets knocked far back.
"Gah, I won't be able to keep up with Normine. I can already feel myself losing control." Thought the demon to himself while biting his lip. Normine lunges towards it again and begins to trade blows with the demon. The demon was barely able to keep up in this barrage of punches, as Normines superior speed and its weakness from Sa-iq trying to regain control him him lose. Normine sucker punches the demon right onto the ground. Its body turning beige and its nails slowly shortening. Sa-iq has taken control of his body again, however due to the fatigue the demon caused, Sa-iq was still unconscious. Normine saw the demon losing control, she only felt temporary happiness seeing that Sa-iq was the one in control again. However it finally doomed at her, she looked out into the distance and started thinking. For the first time ever, Normine was unsure of how the future will look like.
