Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Unfortunate Family Incident

"Is it delicious?" he asked.

Bella Green was happily eating when she suddenly heard this voice, nearly choking herself, her little face turning bright red.

She struggled to swallow the food in her mouth, looked at Mason Bennett, and nodded vaguely, "It's quite delicious."

"Hmm, keep eating." Mason Bennett looked at her, his eyes slightly squinted from the smoke, and said lightly.

Mason Bennett turned his gaze to the dishes on the table, thinking they seemed plain and tasteless. But watching the little girl opposite eat so happily, he actually...

felt a desire to eat as well.

Then, before he realized it, he was already holding a bowl of rice, eating along with the girl.

Outside the hotel, Uncle Wu was waiting anxiously, holding his brightly lit phone. He answered quickly, responding twice to the voice on the other end, then hurriedly ran into the Brocade City Grand Hotel.

After asking the lobby manager, he rushed towards room 201 on the second floor.

Afraid that the fair-skinned child would be harmed by his family's crazy young master, Uncle Wu forgot to knock and just barged in directly.

Upon entering, his anticipated scene did not occur, instead, he saw…

Mason Bennett smoking, with a bowl of rice in front of him, about a spoonful of rice left in the bowl.

"Ma-ma-ma, master, y-y-you…" Uncle Wu pointed at the bowl in front of the man, his eyes wide open, unable to speak for a long time.

Mason Bennett frowned slightly, his deep and cold eyes showed a faint displeasure.

Uncle Wu was startled and quickly changed his words, "The old lady is in the hospital."

Mason Bennett's fingers holding the cigarette paused slightly, extinguished the cigarette butt, stood up, and strode out.

Bella Green was also taken aback. The old lady is hospitalized?

She remembered that in the past life, the Bennett family's old lady should have passed away from a stroke two years ago. How come she's still alive in this lifetime? Why is there such a big discrepancy?

Watching the man leave, Bella Green suddenly thought of something, quickly stood up, and chased after him without a second thought.

Damn, if this man leaves, she won't have money to pay the bill.

In the car, Mason Bennett had just gotten in when a small figure darted in and turned her head. Bella Green could be seen stuffing her cheeks, trying to swallow her food.

Mason Bennett's eyebrows furrowed but he didn't speak.

Realizing she had chased him directly onto the car, Bella Green felt a bit embarrassed and looked away, whispering, "I, I don't have money for a taxi, you said you'd take me home."

Mason Bennett withdrew his gaze and didn't say anything more.

Upon arriving at the city's first hospital, Mason Bennett got out of the car and strode into the hospital.

Bella Green watched the man's back, pondered for a moment, and followed, curious about why there's such a discrepancy with the old lady in this lifetime. What exactly went wrong?

In the VIP ward, the elderly lady in a hospital gown energetically fiddled with her phone. When the WeChat notification sounded, she quickly clicked it open.

Seeing the words on the screen, the old lady directly threw the phone aside and sat on the bed, crying.

At the same time, Mason Bennett pushed the door open, only to see the old lady sitting on the hospital bed sobbing sadly.

Mason Bennett twitched his temple at hearing the strong voice and walked over.

"Grandma, I heard your old illness relapsed?"

Although it was supposed to be concerned inquiry, coming from the man's mouth, it carried a touch of mockery.

The old lady, catching the tone in his words, cried even louder, forcing out a few tears.

"What a sin, you beast with clothes on, it's one thing not to fancy women, but you went crazy and harmed a minor, such misfortune in the family, such misfortune!"

Uncle Wu wiped non-existent sweat off his face, feeling a bit awkward: Too much drama, old lady…
