Chapter 43 - Epilogue: Mrs. Maddox? Yes!

Epilogue – 5 Years Later

Sky's POV

People still looked at us like we were a scandal.

A legacy.

A myth.

The heirs who broke rules and still won.

And maybe we were.

Because five years later, I was still waking up next to Ray Maddox—my husband, my chaos, my calm—and the world hadn't ended. It had only bent around us.

The Valen -Maddox merger hadn't just survived. It thrived. Our fathers had stepped back, willingly or not, and we—two kids once drowning in power plays and secrets—now owned the empire that once nearly destroyed us.

I sipped my morning coffee in a white silk robe with his initials stitched at the sleeve. His tie was slung over the chair. His watch glinted on the counter. The air still smelled like last night—his cologne, my perfume, and something wilder between.

He walked in, half-buttoned shirt, dark slacks, hair messy from my hands. And he was still him—but softer in the eyes, more dangerous in the boardroom.

"Mrs. Maddox," he said, walking over like a storm in slow motion, pressing a kiss to my bare shoulder. "Look at you, stealing all my things again."

"They're mine now," I replied, leaning into him. "Like you."

He smiled. "Always have been."

We had meetings today. A press conference. A proposal for global expansion. A legacy to expand. But for the next ten minutes?

I sat on his lap at the breakfast table. Ate pancakes off his fork. Let him tangle his fingers through my grown-out black hair. Listened to him talk about market shares with that ridiculous glint in his eyes that said you still do things to me, Valen.

And I did. God, I did.

But so did he.

And as I looked down at my wedding ring—diamond, simple, engraved with the first words he ever said to me—I knew the truth.

Power? We had it.

Money? Built it.

But love?

We chose it. Every damn day.
