Chapter 1 - 1

[Ria, when are we leaving the mountain?]

"Little Chief, can you stop asking? I promise I'll leave the mountain by the end of this month."

Actually, Lyria didn't want to step outside the house at all! This was a world with many men but few women, and she was bound to a fertility system, responsible for bearing children.

In her previous life, she had four children for her loved one, sacrificing her youth and promising career. But in the end? It was all for nothing. She lost everything and ended up divorced.

However, this damn system kept nagging like a monk chanting for over a year! She really couldn't take it anymore!

Since this body turned fifteen, the system kept pushing her to go out. Every day, it repeated the same questions over and over.

Lyria tried every excuse she could think of to avoid it. That's how she managed to hold out until she turned sixteen.

Though Lyria was only sixteen by modern standards, still a minor, in this world she was already considered grown. Once a girl reached fifteen and completed the coming-of-age ceremony, she had to discuss marriage.

"Really? Ria, you're not lying?"

"This time it's true, truer than pearls."

Could she lie to it? The system nagged day after day without stopping. If her mind wasn't strong, she would have gone crazy long ago.

Even with her strong patience, she was close to breaking under its constant nagging.

There was no choice. She had to go out.

Avoiding it would never solve anything. She had to face the harsh reality.

Yes, Lyria was a traveler from another world.

Before crossing, she had just gotten divorced.

Her face was covered in tears as she staggered out of the civil affairs office. Her mind was filled with the heartbreaking image of her little son crying loudly. In a daze, she stepped onto the middle of the road.

"Get out of the way!"

The screech of brakes rang out. Lyria snapped back to reality and tried to dodge but it was too late. She watched as a big truck hit her.

Pain shot through her body and she flew up.

She knew she wouldn't survive.

She was an orphan, growing up lonely and without support.

Now death was coming, and she was still alone, as if she never had anything at all. Everything was back to zero.

But that was fine. Death meant freedom from pain and sadness.

Lyria closed her eyes tightly as her body fell, dragged by an invisible force toward endless darkness.

She could hear the wind rushing past her ears. She was ready to be smashed into pieces on the ground.

Suddenly a mechanical voice appeared in her mind: [System binding in progress, please wait.]

Lyria opened her eyes in surprise. The noise around her disappeared. A flash of white light passed before her eyes, and with the words [Binding successful], she fell into darkness.

When Lyria slowly opened her eyes again, a strange feeling overwhelmed her.

She looked around and found herself lying on a worn wooden plank in a simple room.

Bright sunlight poured through the window, the strong light stinging her eyes.

She instinctively raised her hand to block the light, but at that moment she was shocked to see her hands had become very small!

Her eyes widened as she looked at her tiny arms and hands. What was going on?

Panicked, Lyria tried to get up from the plank. She realized her body had completely changed into that of a small girl, no older than five or six.

Had she been turned into a dwarf by the crash? But she was wearing a child's traditional hanfu dress. What was happening? How did she become like this?

She carefully touched her face, hair, and clothes. She moved her small legs and was relieved to find everything else was fine except that she was smaller.

She looked around. This was a bamboo hut with a roof of yellow straw. Besides the wooden plank she lay on, there was nothing else in the room.

[Host, hello. I am Fertility System 65. Happy to serve you!]

The sudden mechanical voice startled Lyria. She looked around the room again. No one was there. Was she hearing things?

[Host, can you hear me?]

"Who? Who is speaking? Show yourself!"

No one appeared.
