THE NEW SECRETARY !
Sophia Patel stepped into the sleek, modern office building, her heels clicking on the polished marble floor. She had just landed the job she has applied for many times and failed.
But to her utmost surprise , she was accepted as secretary to Ethan Blackwood, billionaire CEO of Blackwood Enterprises. The pay was excellent, and the opportunity to work with one of the most influential men in the city was a dream come true , I mean everybody wants a nice connection it was necessary.
she looked around and her first gaze fell on the reception desk as she approached the reception desk, a poised woman with a warm smile greeted her. "Good morning, Sophia. I'm miss. Karen, Mr. Blackwood's current secretary. I'll be showing you the around today , so you look confused on your first day...
Sophia returned the smile, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves all the feeling she wasn't meant to feel .
She had researched about Ethan Blackwood thoroughly before the interview, knowing his reputation as a ruthless businessman and a proud Maniac who everybody was scared of .
But she was determined to prove herself, despite his notorious temper ,i mean pay was enough to make her calm down when she sees him....
Karen led Sophia to the spacious office which was undeniably looking cool , she moved her gaze to where Ethan sat behind a massive desk, his eyes fixed on his phone with seriousness written all over his face .
He looked up, his piercing blue eye gaze scanning Sophia from head to toe which made Sophia to swallow hard, he guessed immediately that she was the new secretary . "Ah, Sophia Patel. Right on time. I like the punctuality." he said with rich aura written all over the invisible words he spoke .
Sophia smiled, trying very hard not to look stupid but to appear confident. "Good morning, Mr. Blackwood. I'm very delighted to be here."
Ethan's expression remained unreadable, but his tone hinted at skepticism. "We'll see about that Sophia patel ... em Karen, brief her on her responsibilities real quick " he commanded it was a command of course he never talks normal to his staff .
As Karen outlined Sophia's duties and the do's and don't of the company , Ethan's attention wandered off from them .
his eyes drifting back to his phone. Sophia noticed the faint scar above his left eyebrow, adding a hint of ruggedness to his chilled annoying features like the way he looked was exactly how he looked in a magazine , the one she read not just long before she reported to this place. She felt a flutter in her chest, which she quickly suppressed. She was here to work, not admire her boss's good looks.
Once Karen finished listing everything Sophia was listening attentively throughout , she didn't want to be called impotent at work .
Ethan stood, towering over Sophia. "I expect nothing but perfection, miss .Sophia. You'll be handling my schedule, emails, and correspondence and also most of my meetings , if am not around , I love early birds and quick learners ,Don't disappoint me , because if you do I won't think twice but consider to fire you ." he said with seriousness written right on his face .
Sophia met his gaze, her voice steady. "yes , sir...
I understand, Mr. Blackwood. I'll do my best not to fall short hand " she said trying not to make her shaky legs noticeable...her legs were seriously shaking ..she swallowed hard '' ah , a drink would do right now " she muttered to herself still staring at her boss with full concentration..
Ethan's eyes narrowed, as if daring her to fall short hand , he didn't like lazy workers , he practically despise them ... if he was working , he expects you a '' low class" as he specify them to do the same with this he just muttered at least audible enough for her to hear it. "See that you do."
The rest of the day passed in a blur of meetings, phone calls, and paperwork, just like other days for me.blackwood . Sophia worked diligently, trying to keep up with mr.Ethan's demanding pace.
I mean he can't possibly frustrate her on a first day of work that ain't happening not with how much they were gonna pay her .. she muttered to herself silently .. the money is important yeah .
As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the city, Sophia felt a sense of accomplishment which she hardly feel but she does now she's working at blackwood . Maybe working for Ethan Blackwood wouldn't be so bad after all... it's not gonna kill her at least she was still breathing oxygen the normal way.
just as they day was briefly coming to a stop it was around 5 pm to be exact .. Sophia stretched herself and stood up to get ready to leave the office , it was time to leave. ''at least she wasn't gonna work overtime " she said to herself .
But as she packed up her things to leave, Ethan's voice stopped her. "Sophia, I need you to stay late tonight. I have a meeting with a potential investor, and I need you to take notes."
Sophia's heart sank just now that she was praising them for not giving her overtime ah..she was more than exhausted , but she nodded professionally.
"Of course, Mr. Blackwood. What time is the meeting?" she asked using every strength she had left to make sure that her smile was steady and not looking tired ... which she obviously was .
Ethan's smile was brief, but it sent a shiver down Sophia's spine. "I'll be expecting you at 7 PM sharp. Don't be late."
As Sophia left the office, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was in for a wild ride with Ethan Blackwood. Little did she know, her life was about to change in ways she never thought possible, the thing that excited her more was the fact that she can get everything thing she wanted was very at her finger tip ...yeah her salary can bill it no jokes ....
