Chapter 20: Threads of Shadows
Rain woke up early in the morning, while the sky was still filled with the clouds of death that did not leave the horizon of Aldrich Palace. He put on his heavy jacket and left quietly, heading to the front yard where Malvos and Liana were preparing to leave.
He stood silently, watching the soldiers line up in a majestic formation. Then he approached Malvos.
Malfus said with a light smile:

Liana suddenly hugged him, and whispered in a warm voice:

Then he rode his horse and left, leaving Ren behind staring at the distant horizon, and the sound of the hooves of the horses disappearing into the icy wind.
Rain returned to the palace in silence, his steps slow but decisive. As soon as he entered his room, he sat on his bed, looking at the void.
