The night was quiet, but something felt off. Caleb, still in his human form, sat near Eli, his golden eyes glinting in the moonlight that spilled through the half-open window. His hair bristled as the forest wind carried a familiar, unsetting scent. A low growl rumbled in his chest. Eli feal tired and still sleep, unaware of the silent tension brewing outside.
Suddenly, Caleb's ears perked up----he heard faint footstep, soft but deliberate, approaching the bakery. His instincts sharpened. That scent....it was him. The one who had attacked him before. The one who had hurt him in the woods. The Riven.
With a swift, fluid movement, Caleb leapt to the window, eyes scanning the shadow beyond. There, standing in a darkness, was a figure--- a tall man, brown long hair, eyes glinting something dangerous. Caleb's breath hitched. It was him, the wolf who had been hunting him, waiting for the right moment to fight and something more Dangerous.
Riven smirked, as if knowing Caleb was watching. He tilted his head, a silent, mocking challenge. Caleb's heart pounded. He couldn't let Eli get involved. Not now. Not when he had finally something----someone---worth protecting.
Caleb's stepped outside silently carefully not wake up Eli. He stepped out the man across the small street, the tension thick between them.
''You're not supposed to be here,'' Caleb said, voice low, edged with warning.
Riven grinned, teeth flashing ''And yet.... here I am. Looking like you've been playing house with a human.'' Riven eyes flickered toward the window where Eli lay sleeping, oblivious.
A growl built in Caleb's throat, his hands clenching into fists. ''Stay away from him.''
Riven smirk ''Or what?'' You will fight me again? You barely survived last time.'' His tone dripped with mockery, but Caleb took step forward, protective, furious.
Before the confrontation could escalate, the sound of Eli stirring inside snapped Caleb's attention back to the window. Riven notice too, his eyes narrowing ''so beautiful'' Riven said.
''This isn't over,'' Riven muttered, them vanished into the shadows, like a nightmare dissolving into the dark.
Caleb stood frozen for a moment, the adrenaline still rushing through him. His heart ached, torn between protecting Eli and keeping his secret hidden. He glanced back at the window, where Eli now sat up, rubbing his eyes, unaware of the danger that had nearby breached their world.
Taking the deep breath, Caleb quietly retuned inside, sitting by Eli's side as he always did. His gaze lingered on Eli's peaceful face, a silent promise forming in his heart---he would protect him, no matter what. ....
you wake up Caleb said. Eli rubbing eyes and lean Caleb chest nuzzle.
Caleb warp arm Eli around like safe cage soft kiss Eli forehead. Eli tilde up head soft deep kiss Caleb lips. Caleb eyes close both feal deep love........
