Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Goggles On!

"Knowledge is power" a powerful quote that shaped the entire worlds perspective of everyone and everything around it. We see the world, thriving in peace with their newfound law.

Goggles, or Manifold went on with his normal day. He threw on his lab coat, strapped on his trusty goggles, and high-tailed it to school without eating.

The buildings stood tall, their glass surfaces reflecting the morning light, with sleek metallic frames that whispered precision and prestige. The students were joyful, noisy, but neatly clean to look at.

As Manifold made his way to his desk, he was greeted… With a tall, slightly muscular guy, gray hair, and a brand new clean jacket. "Hey dude, what's up?" He asked joyfully.

They fist-bumped and Manifold replied, "eh nothing much, experiments are doing well, how about your biology stuff? Still messing around with gene mod?"

"Nothing much, although I felt a slight headache after transforming into a man sized fly but it was doing good." He replied.

"Damn dude, you're really letting yourself go, a house fly, really? you should've picked something cooler."

Darwin's eye was twitching and snapped, "Hey man, it's not my fault that I can't control what I turn into! Remember I still can't modify genes to my own accord, what I'm turning into is based on chance, they are basically jumbling genes until they fit into a living creature."

This was Manifold's best friend, Darwin. He is studying Biology and he can genetically mutate into a different kind of living thing but man sized.

"Hah, you better up your game, dude.." Manifold's remarks as he grins at Darwin.

"I'll just go to my class, see ya around!" Darwin shouts as he runs away.

The teacher was there, they were all sitting down and the teacher went on and glared at Manifold. "Aren't you the guy with the goggles who saved a town from a rogue Seismologist?" he asked curiously.

The students whispering, a silent but noisy hums feel the classroom. "Yes, I am." Manifold timidly mumbled. "why do you ask sir?" he asked.

**The room was silent, awaiting for the teachers response.**

"I must say... You got some impressive skill. How about training with me for a while?" He kindly asked.

The room exploded in whispers.

Manifold grinned and leaned back in his chair.

"Tempting, sir. But I haven't even passed the Chemistry Lab this week."

A few students laughed.

The teacher's smile faded. His eyes narrowed just slightly, not enough to call attention, but enough to make Manifold notice.

"Mm." The teacher turned back to the board. "Let's get started then."

The class returned to normal, but for a moment, the air felt a little heavier.

"Phew," Manifold muttered under his breath. "I really didn't wanna say that I want to train on my own..."

**A few hours after.**

"Hey, Darwin. See ya around alright? You know where to find me," he grinned.

"Of course, man." the two exchanged goodbyes, and left going in different directions.

The buildings were shined by the sun, as it went down. The sky was very red, and the city was filled with a relaxing atmosphere. Students slowly walking towards their homes to rest, as Manifold went back to his house to work on his experiments again.

Manifold mumbled a word, it was faint and quick.

"Access granted." A synthetic voice burst out of nowhere, and a hidden door was opened inside Manifold's room.

"Say... Let's get back to work, shall we?" Manifold grinned and filled with excitement.

"Check updates for our experiments please."

Updates:

Chemical Bonding: 20%

H2O Molecules: 10%

"Still a long way to go, better train to get better at that." Manifold stated.

The room was big, there were big computers, shining flasks, microscope, and a worn-out training dummy. There were 2 seats at the lab...

"My goal has always been the same... It's to solve the theory of everything. Sure it sounds impossible, but at my pace, it will be in the palm of my hands." Manifold flicks his goggles while talking.

A note on a big white board, was highlighted and circled down in the middle of all the equations. "What happened to the satellite?" The note said.

The computers were beeping, the communication systems of the lab were blaring, radio waves, and sound waves on the computers are fuzzing up.

The computers beeped louder.

"Strange signal detected… Origin: Hydrax City."

Manifold's eyes narrowed. "Hydrax City? That's near the Shores of Adventure… I've never been there."

He reached for his communicator. "Better call Darwin. Something's not right."
