Chapter 8 - THE EVOLUTION THEORY

"EVOLUTION,.... really,... You call this SCIE...NCE, "spoke Jones . " This must be the sickest joke I've had from a student, go on tell me more ."

These were taken as jokes and they were not spread much as a few conspiracy theorists always tried to bring it up but it was always buried and people did not have access to such misleading information but Vince here was saying science .

Was he going to explain, this using some sort of sci-fi movies . Let's have it . "Well I do believe when these monsters came to our planet, they exposed humans to some sort of radiations that were non existent on our planet . The few that died probably released whatever was in there molecular structure into the soil and with time of course plants took it in and humans ate those plants. Or maybe some lab experiments involving humans and the beasts." he concluded .

"So tell me how the evolution took place within a short period of five years . Let's say experiment, how when iron even iron was hard cutting their skin and for some it could not even dare ," he paused before continuing "Do you mind explaining that with your three brain cells or you got a short circuit ."

It was at this moment he realised that whatever he called Science,he really couldn't explain. He felt wise a few minutes ago when trying to justify his theory but now he realised how dumb he was because he was looking at current technology not the one that existed the very long period ago before humans acquired abilities.

" Boy, you are suspended you know what that means . See you when you are preparing to leave for the your military training."

It was always common to suspend students but , it would always put you on radar in military school . You were looked at as someone defiant and bigheaded, which the military seeked to solve and put you in line .

"LEAVE ."

The command was final , suspension did not need one to first go through many offices . They were finalists and up next was military training.. He slowly gathered his notebook and pencil, shoving them into his backpack with a bit of defiance. His classmates glanced over, some with curiosity, others pretending not to notice.

As he stood, he muttered something under his breath, just not loud enough to be heard since he did not want to escalate the situation further. He dragged his feet towards the door, avoiding eye contact with the instructor, and stepped into the hallway. Once outside, he leaned against the wall, staring at the floor, and took some few minutes to think about how his life would be in military when he had a record of suspension.

He headed home with a dejected expression taking a look at the azure firmament full of gliding creatures that added beauty to it. He knew he had this time for prepare himself physically and mentally for life ahead which would define his path.

He trudged down the sidewalk of a bustling small-town street. The afternoon sun cast long shadows as he passed a row of familiar shops—a diner with neon signs, a corner store where he sometimes grabbed a soda, and a used bookstore with faded posters in the window. His sneakers scuffed against the uneven pavement. He glanced at passersby—an elderly couple walking slowly, a group of kids laughing near a bus stop—but kept his head down, avoiding eye contact. At a crosswalk, he paused, shifting his weight impatiently as vehicles rumbled by, then cut through a park shortcut, kicking at loose gravel on the path. By the time he reached his neighborhood, his pace slowed, the weight of the day starting to lift as he neared the comfort of home.

********************

He opened the door slowly and headed straight to the kitchen to grab something to chew. "Hey, seems your classes ended today ? Is it because of the preparation for military?" asked a slightly old lady .

"Well aunt Jane I got suspended for saying something bad about those shitty whatever kind of gods they're," answered Vincent

" You know you don't have to always talk bad about the gods much as you do not believe in them , because most people look at them as the saviors of our planet," advised his aunt

Aunt Jane knew Vince hated the gods for a reason. He was believed in them , his parents told him all the stories that the instructor told today .He knew about abilities from his parents. They were dedicated believers in gods and they awakened strong abilities but this was not enough to prevent their premature death .

He felt like abilities, power was not the best gift a full council would give to humans . How can one evil god do something that the whole council of gods could not undo ? Alot of things did not add up . The death of his parents showed him that power alone may not be enough and that gods are useless and they never answer when called upon , so this ability granting story looked fabricated to him as if it was made to hide the truth.
