After Ji Yen was done eating, he first went to drink. This time, he did not go to a small lake.
It will be too eye-catching for a large sparrow to fly and drink water from there.
Instead, he went to the small stream.
When he reached near the stream, he spotted many small creatures.
It was small and tiny insects staying near the stream.
He did not see them when he first discovered the stream, even though he knew there would be many insects near the stream. He thought that they would be coming when they needed the water.
But he did not think much and flew closer towards the stream. Unexpectedly, when he was about to land beside the stream, he saw the same frog that fought with him for the ants.
It was chilling alone near the stream with its back facing him.
Suddenly, an idea struck in his mind.
He thought, Why not just use him as a practice target for his feather blade skill. He did not have other target he wanted to use.
He simply did not want use his skills on random innocent creatures.
He ate those ants because of foods. He doesn't kill them random because he was bored.
So, Ji Yen changed his direction and flew towards the frog. And when was about few meters away from the frog, he shook his wings and shot out 2 feather blade that look like metallic blade.
Swoosh...Swoosh...
Both the feathers flew towards the frog in a very fast speed.
The frog felt a sense of danger. So it jumped.
But it was not fast enough. One of the blade severed its left leg. But the other one missed him.
The frog, that was large as a 20 centimeters, rolled on the ground with bloods gushing out of its severed leg.
It let out a sharp and loud pain voice.
Hearing the sound of the frog and seeing its situation, all the small creatures near the stream left in panic.
Even though the frog was hurt, it was still a beast that was about to reach a half Grade 1. So it stopped the bloods and stood up facing Ji Yen.
First it showed a ferocious expression. But when it saw the size of Ji Yen, it immediately showed a scared face and quickly turned around to run away.
Seeing the frog's action, Ji Yen did not tried to stop it. But he did not think of letting it go away.
Even though he did not care much about the frog. He did want it to run away and coming back for revenge when it reach the half Grade Demon beast.
So, he flew up and started following the frog.
He had only 4 feather blades left. So he aim at the frog carefully and shot out his feather.
This time both his two feather hit the frog while it was running. One one the head and the other on its back.
He landed beside the dead body of them frog.
"Hmm.. I still got my skills though." He said to himself as he checked the dead frog.
Looking at the dead body, Ji Yen felt that it was a pity to leave it here. He did not want to waste the energy points he could get from the frog.
But he also could not bring himself to eat a bloody dead body of a frog.
When he was in the army he ate many things. But it was all a desperate call. And eating ants are different from eating a dead frog.
As he was in a dilemma, a message popped up in front of him.
[Would host like to absorb the energy of the frog?]
"What do you mean absorb the energy? Can I do it without eating the body?" Ji Yen asked skeptically.
[Yes. The host can absorb energy without touching the body. But it must be dead and the distance between host and the body must be less than a meter.
Also, during the absorption, the host must not be disturb.]
"OK. So how long will it take to absorb the energy from this body?" Xi Chen asked.
[20 seconds.]
"Great!! Then start absorbing the energy." Ji Yen said.
After 20 seconds, a notification popped up.
[Ding! 25 energy points obtain.
Added into the system energy storage.]
"Well that was much better than before." He murmured.
After getting the energy points, he flew to the stream and drank his fill.
Then he started flying to search for a spot to spend the night.
As he flew about the forest, he saw the forest stretching endless on both sides.
But Ji Yen could see the edge of the forest with his new eyes.
Even though he could see the edge with his eyes, the distance was too big. More than 20 miles away from him.
He did not think of leaving the forest though, because he doesn't know what he will face. He thought it will be safer if he leave after reaching Grade 2 or 3.
He put the distracting thoughts back to his mind and focus and finding a spot for the night.
After surveying the area for more than 2 hours, Ji Yen finally spotted a hole in a tree.
The hole was just big enough for him to enter and it was above 20 meters from the ground.
He did not entered the hole immediately. Instead he landed on a tree near it. Then he inspects the hole for any dangerous things.
More than 30 minutes later, he still did not see any kinds of dangerous signs. But he still did not entered the hole yet.
For one last time, to check the hole for anything dangerous, Ji Yen flew near the hole and flapped his wings to let the air flew inside it.
When he felt the current of the air coming out from the hole, he knew there were no danger at all and the hole was only about twice his size inside. So he flew inside the hole and sat down with his eyes facing outside.
After sometime, he decided to rest for the night.
