Chapter 98 - Chapter 98

Looking at the displeased Serena and Dawn, Riku said speechlessly, "What exactly do you need me for? You didn't explain clearly on the phone, and you sounded so anxious."

"It's not that we didn't explain clearly, it's that you weren't listening carefully at all!" Dawn said, a bit annoyed. "Next time I call you, you can't just not answer! I've called five times today!"

"Okay, okay, I got it," Riku said perfunctorily, then seemed to think of something. "Wait, no. We don't even seem to be friends yet. Weren't you the one who challenged me yesterday? And you were determined to defeat me. If I hadn't been strong enough, yesterday I would have already..."

"As the Orange League Champion, you're supposed to be challenged by trainers!" Dawn interrupted directly. "That's your job, and you even get paid for it."

"Alright, alright," Serena interjected, seeing signs of an argument. "Grandma also mentioned forming the Elite Four to us today, and she even called May. May has already agreed and will return from Hoenn as soon as possible."

Riku frowned slightly. Such a big matter, and May hadn't even called him? This didn't seem right at all. Could she be angry? Girls were sensitive. Now that he had suddenly gotten close to two beautiful girls, it wouldn't be strange for May to be a little jealous.

Before, even though Lorelei was ten years older than him, May was still wary. Now... Thinking about these romantic entanglements, Riku felt a bit of a headache.

Putting aside everything else, May was just short of directly confessing her feelings for him; they had done everything else. While she was back in Hoenn, if he hung out with two beautiful girls every day, he wouldn't be able to clear his name even if he jumped into the Yellow River.

Dawn finally took a step back. "Riku, I can stop bothering you, and judging by your expression, you want me to refuse to be the Orange Archipelago's Elite Four, right? I can agree to that. As long as you can tell me how Feebas evolves, and try your best to help me catch a Milotic."

"Impossible!" Riku shook his head directly. "My Milotic evolved using a Prism Scale. If I hadn't been lucky enough to find this legendary item in the forest, Feebas would still be a Feebas."

Regarding how he obtained the Prism Scale, Riku certainly couldn't tell the truth. If people found out he had a system, who knew what the entire Pokémon world would do? Maybe they would capture him and dissect him for research?

"As if I'd believe that," Dawn said speechlessly. "How could you possibly just pick up such a legendary item? If you're not willing to tell me, then I'm definitely becoming an Elite Four member!"

I'll be damned! Dawn, where did you get your confidence? At first, I thought you were confident, smart, and beautiful, but after spending a day or two with you, my impression has been completely overturned.

Just as Riku was shocked, Serena had already discussed with Dawn where to grind for some experience so that their Pokémon could advance to the Elite Four level as soon as possible.

"Forget it!" In the end, Riku still spoke up. "The Orange Archipelago doesn't have a good place to train Pokémon right now. Let's change our approach."

Actually, the Orange Archipelago still had some Elite-level Pokémon. But it seemed many of them had been defeated by Riku once. Repeatedly defeating a Pokémon probably didn't give much experience. Otherwise, there would be no need to look for wild Pokémon outside; the Pokémon they had captured could just battle each other to solve the experience problem.

Moreover, now the wild Pokémon of the Orange Archipelago would immediately turn around and run away as soon as they smelled Riku's scent from afar.

The humans of the Orange Archipelago knew Riku was powerful, and the Pokémon living in this area could also receive some news from those humans. Many Pokémon actually had intelligence no lower than humans.

"Then let's go to the Kanto region," Dawn and Serena discussed for a while and made a decision. "The Orange Archipelago isn't far from the Kanto region. We can go back and forth in a day, and there will still be enough time for us to train our Pokémon. And you probably haven't challenged the Kanto region's Gyms yet, have you? If we don't encounter any wild Pokémon, we can try challenging the Gyms."

Challenge the Gyms? That was a bit interesting. Riku was taken aback, a bit tempted by Dawn and Serena's suggestion. Up until now, he hadn't challenged any Gyms.

He had heard Cynthia say before that to become a League Champion, the first prerequisite was to obtain eight badges and have the qualification to participate in the League Championships.

Although he wasn't interested in becoming a League Champion, Riku still wanted to try challenging the Gyms.

Being a Gym Leader meant the Pokémon's strength wouldn't be bad, and it would be another generous amount of system points.

And most importantly, the Kanto region wasn't far from the Orange Archipelago.

As long as he could return every day, Riku didn't have any objections.

He didn't care about the three dumb birds, the Red Shrimp, and the little fish. The main thing was that he wanted to see Ralts every day.

Holding the little cutie in bed was like holding a doll— incredibly comfortable.

"Riku, don't you have any Flying-type Pokémon?"

After discussing, the two girls didn't pester Riku to go to his house this time. But seeing Riku summon Lapras again, Serena asked curiously.

"No, I don't," Riku said with distress. "Actually, I've always wanted to capture a Flying-type Pokémon. There are three on my island, but they are too weak, and their size isn't enough to carry me far..."

Riku was giving the three dumb birds face. Not to mention traveling far, Riku estimated that if he sat on the Legendary Birds, he could directly crush them to death.

"Then this time, we'll help you keep an eye out for Flying-type Pokémon," Dawn said with a serious expression. "There are quite a few Flying-type Pokémon in the Kanto region: Pidgey, Spearow, Taillow, Wingull..."

"So many?" Riku was overjoyed. "Then I must capture a Flying-type Pokémon in the Kanto region during this time, otherwise it's too inconvenient sometimes."

"Riku, you still need to be careful when capturing Pokémon," Serena advised. "The Pokémon you have now all have good base stats. The Flying-type Pokémon Dawn mentioned are okay for transportation, but they're really not good for battling..."

"Who says they're not good? Take Pidgey—evolving into Pidgeot is also very powerful," Dawn retorted unconvinced.

Seeing that the two girls were about to argue, Riku quickly persuaded, "It's okay, as long as I capture them, I'll nurture them well no matter how weak they are."

"I'm going back, see you tomorrow."

Riku didn't want to get caught between the two girls and hurried back to the island as if fleeing.

Originally, the legendary Pokémon were quite happy to see Riku return in time to cook dinner.

But their happiness didn't even last ten minutes. When they heard that Riku would now travel to the Kanto region every day and wouldn't be able to cook lunch for them, the five legendary Pokémon almost went to the Kanto region to cause a big commotion out of anger.

With such a commotion, they didn't believe Riku would still go to the Kanto region to travel.

It had to be said that the legendary Pokémon's idea could indeed stop Riku.

But...

For a lunch, that was too outrageous.
