Chapter 2 - Heavenly System

DING!

The sound rang out in his skull like a divine bell—clear, sharp, echoing through bone and soul.

Then came the voice.

Calm. Mechanical. Yet... ancient.

A swirl of golden light spiraled from the floating panel. It coalesced in the air like divine treasure being summoned from heaven. One by one, glowing items and runes appeared before him.

The light faded.

The items dissolved into golden mist and entered his body.

He felt it instantly.

The spatial ring slid onto his finger—black jade with a golden dragon coiled around it.

His breathing grew deeper, more focused. Muscles tightened. Qi stirred inside him like a storm waking from slumber.

He smirked. "Now this... this is how you start a cultivation story."

Without hesitation, he sat down in the center of the crater, legs folded.

"Let's test this pill."

He brought the Supreme Qi Condensation Pill out from the ring. It floated in front of him, round and shimmering, coated in ancient runes that pulsed with each beat of his heart.

He popped it in.

It melted on his tongue like liquid fire.

BOOM.

His eyes snapped open as the force hit him like a war drum. Golden light exploded from his pores. His Qi veins lit up. The cracked earth beneath him trembled again as his body greedily pulled in the surrounding spiritual energy.

He opened his eyes.

Golden light flickered in his irises. The draconic aura around him grew thicker, heavier, charged with real power now—not just bloodline inheritance, but his own path beginning to form.

He stood.

Hair flowing, breath calm, and presence sharp.

"…Time to get to work."

He turned toward the edge of the crater.

And in the distance, just beyond the trees, a low roar echoed.

A beast.

Something big.

And angry.

And hungry.

He smiled.

"…Perfect."

He took one step forward—and vanished in a flash of golden Qi. The chase had begun.

The forest was thick with tension. Ancient trees stood tall like watchers, their roots coiling through the earth like sleeping beasts. Mist hung low, tinged with a faint shimmer of spiritual energy. Every leaf, every branch, every gust of wind—something felt alive.

Then it came again.

RRRRAAAAAARRRRGHHHHHH!

A roar, deep and guttural, shook the forest from its core. Birds scattered. The ground rumbled. Somewhere beyond the mist, something massive stomped its way through the woods.

And through that fog, golden light cut clean like a blade.

Rykarion.

He didn't walk.

He glided.

Golden Qi flared beneath his feet, lifting him just slightly above the dirt. His robe fluttered behind him, coiled with streaks of golden aura. His eyes glowed, narrowed like a predator hunting for its next kill.

He paused by a tree. Closed his eyes.

Breathed in.

"…Smells like blood," he muttered, then stepped forward into a clearing—and stopped.

There it was.

A beast. Twice the size of a rhino. Its body was covered in obsidian-scale plates, steaming with heat. Thick muscles flexed beneath its hide, and its tusks curved like warblades, stained with red. Its eyes were red. Glowing. Intelligent.

> [Spirit Beast: Infernal Razor Boar – Late Foundation Stage]

Threat Level: High.

Core Quality: Unstable but potent.

The beast snorted.

Its breath turned the grass to ash.

Rykarion grinned.

"…Alright. Let's see what I can really do."

The beast charged.

BOOM!

The earth split beneath its hooves. Trees shattered behind it as it charged with full momentum. Dust exploded into the air, and every step it took cracked the ground like thunder. A red glow lit up its tusks—it was using a Qi charge skill. Iron Fang Thrust.

Rykarion didn't move.

Not until the last second.

He blinked. One instant, he was there—the next, he wasn't.

WHOOOM!

The beast crashed into the spot he stood, creating a crater even deeper than the one he woke up in.

But Rykarion was already in the air above it—flipping once, golden flames swirling around his right leg.

He dropped like a meteor.

"Draconic Fang Kick!"

CRACKKK!

His heel slammed into the beast's back. The scales held—barely—but the impact forced it to stumble. It roared in pain, trying to swing its tusks up toward him.

Rykarion landed, slid back smoothly, and flicked his wrist.

Qi sparked around his hand.

The aura twisted—twirled—then ignited.

Golden flame danced along his arms like serpents.

He pressed his palms together, eyes gleaming.

"…Let's try this one."

His voice dropped low.

"Flame Spiral: Second Form."

He crouched low. Qi surged from the pit of his core, ripping through his veins, condensing into his hands.

And then—

He exploded forward.

Faster than sight.

A golden trail of fire burned behind him as he spun into a flaming vortex. The boar swung wildly, but missed. Rykarion slammed into its ribs—

BAM!

Then again—

BAM BAM!

Then—

"NOW!"

He jumped up high. Fire swirled beneath him.

"Flame Spiral — FINAL STRIKE!!"

His whole body spun like a drill, wrapped in a cyclone of golden fire, and he crashed down on the beast's spine—

BOOOOOMMMMMM!!!

Flames exploded outward in a giant ring. The forest lit up. Trees incinerated in seconds. Dirt lifted. Rocks shattered.

And when the smoke cleared—

The boar was on its side, twitching. Charred. Burned through.

Still breathing.

Barely.

Rykarion landed, panting once. His palm sparked with one last flicker of Qi. His fingers curled.

He walked slowly toward the beast.

The Infernal Razor Boar raised its head weakly, one tusk broken. Its red eyes glared.

"You lost," Rykarion said, calm.

Then he opened his hand—and a golden pulse surged from his palm into the beast's skull.

CRACK!

Its eyes dimmed.

Gone.

Silence.

Only the soft crackling of flame remained.

Then—

> [Enemy Defeated: Infernal Razor Boar]

Reward: Beast Core (Fire-Aligned)

+3% Progress to Foundation Realm

Battle Insight Activated – Skill Improved: Flame Spiral → Lv. 2

Bonus Objective Achieved. Unlocking Bloodline Skill…

His eyes widened.

"…Already?"

The system didn't reply—but his chest burned, right over his heart.

And then—

BOOM.

Golden fire exploded from his back, flaring up into the shape of a coiling dragon. His aura pulsed, shifted, changed. It was no longer just energy.

It was pressure.

The pressure of something ancient.

Royal.

The trees around him bent backward.

Even the flames hesitated, as if bowing to the one who commanded them.

He looked at his hands. They were trembling—not from fear, but from the sheer amount of power rushing through.

"…This body…" he muttered. "This system… this world…"

He looked at the beast's corpse.

Then to the sky.

"Fine. You gave me this power, Rykarion."

He turned.

His aura swirled like a storm behind him.

"I'll rise again with it."
