Chapter 7 - Not for Sale

Inside the Yunyun Trading Company, Chen Yue gleefully reached out to accept the 500,000 Xia coins prize.

Standing before him, Yun Xiaohai let out a sigh.

"Sigh… You've got some real skills, kid! But I'm curious—how come I've never seen your beast before?"

Facing Yun Xiaohai's question, Chen Yue began to ponder.

He had long noticed that the evolution path of this "Sun God" seemed entirely absent in this world.

At first, he assumed it was due to his own limited knowledge—maybe he simply hadn't reached the level where such rare evolutions were known.

But now, even a seasoned Silver-tier Beastmaster like Yun Xiaohai didn't recognize it. Chen Yue couldn't help but feel awed by the power of his "Eye of Truth" talent.

"You flatter me, Boss Yun. I'm not worthy. As for Buster's evolution path—it's light-elemental, possibly a mutated strain."

Yun Xiaohai mentally searched through his knowledge, but still found no matches. This kid probably awakened some kind of nurturing-related talent, he thought.

Still, he didn't press further. With a nod, he began to see Chen Yue off.

After all, he had just handed over a hefty 500,000 Xia coins. Even for a Silver-tier Beastmaster, that was a painful expense.

Just then, Yun Xianhe suddenly walked out from behind the door.

"Uncle, I want to hire him as my sparring partner!"

Yun Xiaohai was briefly stunned, surprised by his nephew's sudden request. But upon reflection, he realized what Xianhe was planning.

Having raised the boy himself, Yun Xiaohai found his spoiled nephew quite a handful.

With his time split between cultivation and running this shop, he hardly had time to properly mentor him.

Naturally, Yun Xianhe had his own motives.

Fall where you may, rise from the same spot. He wanted to find Chen Yue's weakness and defeat him fair and square!

Unexpectedly, Chen Yue opened his mouth to decline.

"No thanks, I—"

"1,000 Xia coins per hour!"

"It's not about the money."

"1,500 Xia coins per hour!"

"I said it's not about money!"

"2,000 Xia coins per hour! Any more and I won't have enough allowance left!"

"Deal!"

Chen Yue smiled and reached out to shake Yun Xianhe's hand in agreement.

Yun Xiaohai, watching from the side, could only sigh, "I'll have to start teaching him some of my real techniques one of these days."

In a downtown café in Yunhai City, Zhang Liang hurriedly sat down, a puzzled look on his face.

"Ah Yue, what was so urgent you had to call me out like this? If it's about money, I could've just transferred it. No need to call me 'Dad' in public."

Chen Yue shot him a glare. "Obviously, I called you out for something important!"

He then handed Zhang Liang a piece of paper.

Looking at the contents, Zhang Liang saw a list of low-level dark-elemental materials, along with two lines detailing evolution requirements.

"Ah Yue, tell me honestly—where did you get this?"

Zhang Liang's first reaction wasn't suspicion, but concern about the origin of the info, afraid Chen Yue might've been scammed.

"Relax, it's absolutely reliable! But you have to promise me—don't tell anyone."

Seeing the certainty in Chen Yue's expression, Zhang Liang nodded and took the paper.

"Ah Yue, I owe you one. Let's just say this is you being a filial son to your 'old man'."

"Get going then. Let me know once the evolution's successful."

Zhang Liang nodded and hurried home to prepare.

His family was better off financially than Chen Yue's, so getting the materials would be no problem.

Chen Yue had full confidence in that.

When he first awakened this talent, Chen Yue had already thought about helping his best friend.

And after Buster successfully evolved, the idea only grew stronger—leading to today's gesture.

In the future, Chen Yue hoped Zhang Liang would walk this path alongside him.

As for whether Zhang Liang might leak this information—Chen Yue was absolutely sure he wouldn't.

He knew exactly what kind of person his brother was.

Taking a sip of his coffee, watching the evening glow descend across the horizon, Chen Yue smiled contentedly, full of hope for what lay ahead.

[Evolution Path]

① Solar God Line — Can evolve up to Mythic Form

After days of continual investment, Buster's growth had improved significantly.

Although Chen Yue had poured heavy resources into it, progress still required time—Buster needed to digest those materials.

Nonetheless, Chen Yue was very satisfied with Buster's development.

Noticing the time, he realized it was almost time for his training session with Yun Xianhe.

After a brief cleanup, he headed out.

This time, Buster didn't follow. It preferred to stay in the contract book—partly to cultivate strength, and partly because Buster simply liked solitude.

Fortunately, Chen Yue was someone who appreciated occasional solitude too. In a way, Buster's habit was influenced by him.

After taking public transit, he arrived in the wealthy district.

Yun Xianhe lived here. As a Silver-tier Beastmaster and a business owner, Yun Xiaohai had accumulated significant wealth in Yunhai City.

After waiting briefly at the security checkpoint, Yun Xianhe came out, greeted him briefly, and silently led him home.

What came into view was a massive standalone villa, just like the mansions in his previous life.

Inside, there were all kinds of facilities—pool, gym, training room—you name it.

Even someone like Chen Yue, who had seen a lot, couldn't help but mutter, "Rich bastard…"

"One day, when I get rich, I'll have a house like this too. I'll bring Mom and Dad to live with me."

He silently engraved a new goal into his heart.

Eventually, the two arrived at the training room.

Yun Xianhe sized up Chen Yue and then spoke blandly.

"Take off your clothes."

"Huh? What for? I perform, but I don't sell my body!"

"…"

"I mean change into training gear. We'll be sparring using high school rules."

"Oh, I see, haha."

After some awkward laughter, Chen Yue quietly changed into the training outfit Yun Xianhe had prepared. His opponent had already changed earlier.

Chen Yue knew the "high school mode": before high school, beast battles were strictly between contracted beasts, with Beastmasters giving commands from the sidelines.

But in high school, things changed. Beastmasters had to fight alongside their beasts.

After all, in the wild, wild beasts wouldn't care if you were just a Beastmaster.

That's why high schoolers needed physical training and had to learn something called "Ancient Martial Arts."

Though still far from high school himself, Chen Yue knew enough. Rich families often started physical training early.

And Yun Xianhe was clearly one of those rich kids.
