Chapter 3 - Interesting

It was morning as we woke up. I saw Marcus on the bed next to mine. He was asleep. I got out of bed slowly. It was quite early, so I didn't wake him up. I got ready for school and left for class. Before leaving, I left a note for Marcus.

 Good morning, Marcus

I went to class early so I could investigate. If I find something interesting, I will tell you when you arrive. Okay? I didn't want to wake you up because it was... (?) early. Come to class after you have gotten ready, okay?

 Liam

I arrived in class. A few people were asking each other about yesterday's homework answers. Anyone in here could be the murderer. I sighed nervously. Has everyone forgotten about last night's murder? Well, they have their problems. Wait, I also have homework. Birds! I forgot!

After I did my homework, I saw three lonely people in the class. One was holding a mobile phone, another person was holding a bottle of water, and he was drinking it. The final one was holding a tissue; he was scrubbing something. I went to have a closer look. I was surprised to see what it was. It was a knife. He hid it when he saw me. "Hey punk, what are you looking at?" He asked sarcastically. I stood carefully, switching my gestures into a serious fit. "Nothing. Uh.." That wasn't the best answer. I finally looked up, making eye contact with the person. I realized it was Caleb. He could have been the murderer since David, Caleb, and his friends fought. "Pft! You can't lie to me." I had to come up with something, but my mind was blank. So, I had an idea. "Do you feel sad?" I asked while smiling nervously. He looked hurt. I manipulated him. It worked. "What?" He asked back, but he seemed like he knew what I meant. "You know? David dying..." I said the words. He quickly faced his back to me and covered his face with his hood. "No." He replied. "Leave me alone." He said quietly. Is he crying, or is it that he can't hide his scared, terrified, or satisfied face, so he faced his back to me?

I nodded, although he couldn't see. When I sat down. I saw him running outside. Then, in the window, I saw him enter the bathroom. I followed him. When I arrived in front, I heard whimpers. What if he regretted killing him? But this is too much. I needn't know too much. This is private. The way he is feeling. I wasn't able to know. I knocked on the door. Why did I do that?! I asked myself. I could hear him standing up and opening the door. I thought he was opening this door, but he went into the toilet himself. I went in. Only one door was locked. "Caleb?" I asked. "Are you stalking me?!" He replied from the toilet, his voice still shaking and sounding hurt. "I knocked," I told him. "I know, stupid. Why didn't you just come in?" He asked angrily. "I don't know," I replied. He came out. I got scared since he was a lot taller than me. "I just..." "Never mind, why did I even ask?" He told himself, loud enough for me to hear. "I want you to answer, Caleb," I told him. "What question?" He asked me. "Are you sad?" He had tears in his eyes. I was sure he was crying. He probably did his best to show them. "I've already answered, stalker." He replied, his voice cracked. "No." He added. "I know you're lying," I confessed. "I'm not." He replied, turning his back again. "You are," I told him. "No." "Yes." "NO." "Yes." "I SAID I'M NOT LYING!" He said angrily, now his tears showed. He looked surprised. He quickly wiped them off. "Never tell anyone this happened, okay?" He asked, giving a stare. I nodded. "You are a nice guy," I told him when he reached the handle of the door to the outside of here. "Whatever." "Please tell me the truth before you leave," I told him quietly. He shook his head. "I wasn't lying." "Fine, be like this then," I told him back. "I WILL!" He shouted back. He left with a big slam. I opened the door, too. Then went to class and saw him again. He covered his face with his hood again when he saw me. I sat down. It was interesting, wasn't it?
