Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The Chosen Land

The bushes were indeed quiet, and there was truly something more to them.

There weren't many weeds, and they had clearly been deliberately cleared, with dense weeds only at the edges of the bush.

Even the bushes themselves had some of their lower branches and leaves cleared, forming a space about twenty centimeters high. At first glance, it almost seemed like entering a highway in the Grey Rat's kingdom.

Perhaps this was the Grey Rat's effort to control this area.

In such an environment, it would be very difficult for a Black Snake to launch a sneak attack.

However, everything has its pros and cons. For example, at this moment, when Wang Wu rushed into the bushes, there was no obstruction whatsoever.

If the Grey Rats were heavy cavalry, then he could probably be considered a heavy tank.

Soon, as Wang Wu rushed in for dozens of meters, a gurgling Creek appeared before him. For him, who was both thirsty and hungry, it was like an angel's smile.

Wang Wu vigilantly looked around and then jumped into the Creek, drinking like a cow.

The Creek's flow was small, there were no dangerous creatures, and the dense bushes blocked threats from the air. One could only say that this place was truly excellent, a Chosen Land.

He drank his fill in one go, quenching his thirst, and surprisingly gained 50 points of fullness.

It seemed that food and water were both included.

Without delay, Wang Wu continued to search for the red berries; his time was limited.

Searching downstream along the Creek, he soon heard a series of threatening squeaks. Ha, he found them.

The Creek made a big bend here, forming a rather large alluvial plain—a wide, peach-blossom-like grassland hidden within these bushes, about half the size of a football field.

Here, various wild flowers bloomed, and there were red berries. Yes, they didn't grow on bushes but on plants similar to strawberries, growing in clusters like hanging rubies.

Some were green, some light yellow, clearly not yet ripe.

It was a large patch, and there were obvious signs of deliberate cultivation.

Here, there were actually four Grey Rats farmers on guard.

"Squeak, squeak, squeak!"

These four fellows let out strange cries, stomping their feet and baring their teeth, seemingly trying to enrage Wang Wu and lure him away.

But Wang Wu ignored them, rushing forward and frantically picking the ripe red berries.

As for the four Grey Rats, hehe, there were only four of them. He wasn't afraid at all. Yesterday, at least fifteen Grey Rats had taken turns charging at him to knock him over.

At this moment, these four Grey Rats clearly knew this point as well. Besides their useless squeaks, they couldn't do anything.

After all, who would have thought this shameless bear would come to steal berries at this time?

"Good stuff!"

After eating just one red berry, Wang Wu was so excited that tears almost came out.

One berry increased his fullness by 10 points, and these red berries were truly sweet. They seemed to contain the cool dew of the morning, like eating iced watermelon; the word 'refreshing' could not even begin to describe it.

Of course, Wang Wu also kept track of the time; he couldn't let those Grey Rats surround him.

After eating dozens of red berries in one go, his fullness reached 300 points, which was the limit of what he could eat.

He then picked five more as snacks and, no longer greedy, turned and ran.

After exiting the bushes, he saw that the sunlight on the cliff had already reached the Silver Three Minutes stage and was about to end. All the little Demons were fully focused on absorbing the free-floating golden particles in the sunlight. This scene was shocking and mysterious.

Wang Wu only glanced at it, then immediately turned around and ran towards the Black Snake Clan's territory. Today, he could no longer hide under the Spider Clan's big tree and lie low, because he had caused big trouble today, and the Grey Rats would not let him go.

So, between two evils, he chose the lesser and returned to his rock crevice.

Actually, he had wanted to go back yesterday, but he had no chance.

Running wildly, he finally managed to squeeze back into the familiar rock crevice before the Silver Three Minutes ended. He lay down inside, and after three seconds of stillness, he successfully entered Level 2 Passive Stealth state.

He planned to do this for the entire day ahead.

As for whether this Level 2 Passive Stealth could block the Black Snake senses, he didn't know.

But today he had accumulated 300 points of fullness, and he actually had the idea of causing trouble in the Black Snake's territory.

Because this rock crevice limited the possibility of the Black Snake attacking him as a group.

So, as long as it was one-on-one, with his fullness and Level 1 Self-Healing, fighting for a dozen rounds would not be a problem.

As for whether the Black Snake Clan's leader would make a move, Wang Wu could only gamble, after all, it was a Giant Snake thicker than a bucket, and the widest upper part of this rock crevice was only twenty centimeters.

In short, it was worth the gamble.

However, not long after he entered Level 2 Passive Stealth here, a strong wind suddenly swept through the sky, followed by a loud eagle cry.

Even though Wang Wu was hiding deep in the rock crevice, he felt an uncontrollable, utterly terrified sensation.

His heart raced, he trembled, and he didn't even have the strength to escape; his four small paws were soft.

Almost simultaneously, several lines of striking blood-red information appeared.

[Your Level 2 Passive Stealth state has been broken. You have been discovered by a more powerful entity.]

[You have been locked on!]

[As you possess no value, the target has abandoned its lock on you!]

...

Immediately after, Wang Wu struggled to lift his head. Through the rock crevice, he saw a huge Black Giant Eagle flying through the air. Its enormous claws, comparable to ship anchors, were grasping a Black Giant Snake at least thirty meters long and as thick as a bucket, soaring into the sky.

The Black Giant Snake twisted and struggled frantically, but it was useless.

The strong wind dissipated, and the huge Black Giant Eagle also vanished without a trace, but the Valley seemed to have experienced a catastrophe.

The slender old tree where the Spider family lived had many branches broken by the strong wind, and the Grey Rats bush kingdom was also flattened. How many little Demons died or were injured in this wave?

Wang Wu was still in shock, filled with lingering fear.

If he had been like yesterday, fighting the Mantis, or dominating the Grey Rats, or merely trying to hide and lie low under that old tree, then even if he didn't die, he would have been severely injured.

That Black Giant Eagle was unknown as to what level of Great Demon it was, or even a Mid-tier Demon, but just its ascent and descent could capture the Black Snake Clan's leader alive. This combat power made the bear despair.

In fact, at this moment, Wang Wu still felt his body was limp, his heart was pounding, and a primal great fear was still swirling deep in his heart.

However, he was ultimately a human Soul. Although he was terrified to the extreme, he also realized that this was an excellent opportunity.

So, even though his body was still trembling and the shadow of fear still lingered, he forced himself to crawl out of the rock crevice and peered outside. Good heavens, not far away, lay seven or eight Mantis corpses, and a Grey Rat that was clearly stunned.

Opportunity knocks but once!

Gritting his teeth, Wang Wu scrambled out, first grabbing the corpses of those Mantis, then pouncing like a tiger, smashing the stunned Grey Rat to death, and bringing them all back to the rock crevice.

He originally wanted to continue going out to scavenge for food, but then he heard a sudden explosion from above the cliff. Large amounts of flame scattered like fireworks, interspersed with several severed Black Snake corpses.

He poked his head out to look, and good heavens, it was the Flame Scorpion King taking advantage of the Black Snake Clan's leader being taken out, directly leading its subordinates to attack.

One fireball per bite, it was blasting away powerfully above.

Can't mess with it, can't mess with it!

Wang Wu immediately shrank back.
