Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Noise

It's a quiet night, the kind where everything feels still.

No lights, no television murmuring in the background, just the soft hum of insects fluttering in the trees outside.

From the second floor, where the room is located, darkness blankets everything. The only light comes from the moonbeams slipping through the window.

The room is simple: plain white walls, a bed tucked into one corner, and a modest study desk. Combined with the silver glow of the moon, the scene is aesthetically serene, like a moment frozen in time.

But tranquility never lasts.

Footsteps thunder up the wooden stairs.

Step. Step. Step.

The door bursts open with a loud creak, a boy rushing into the room. His excitement is unmistakable, practically vibrating off his skin.

Phone in one hand, a ticket in the other, he dives onto his bed like a missile.

Face buried in the bedsheets, he lets out a muffled scream.

"I can't believe it!"

His legs kick wildly as the adrenaline rush hits him.

He grabs a pillow, swings it in the air, and throws it across the room.

"AAAHHHH!"

Overwhelmed by joy, he's completely oblivious to the volume of his celebration.

"IN WHAT WORLD DID THIS HAPPEN?!" "HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE?!"

He talks to himself, laughing, buzzing with disbelief.

Like a teenage girl after a crush interaction, his excitement is justified, because tonight, he experienced something unimaginable. A fleeting yet magical moment with someone he admires deeply.

Then a thought hits him.

"Wait... did I look cool at the end?"

Of course. Any guy trying to impress a girl would ask that.

He stands on the bed, hands stuffed in his pockets, and reenacts the moment.

"You heard me. You're my favorite. Right, Ryu-ssi?"

The memory sends electricity shooting through his veins.

"AAAACK!"

Just then, a voice cuts through the night.

"Stop! Brother, what the hell are you doing?!"

Aiden freezes. His little sister stands at the door, arms crossed, pillow in hand.

"Everyone in this house is asleep. You're being so loud!"

He looks at her and grins mischievously.

She narrows her eyes. "Stop being weird or I'll call Mom."

Any sibling knows that's a threat not to be taken lightly, but Aiden? He has an ace up his sleeve.

He slowly reaches into his pocket and pulls out a ticket.

"Still going to call Mom?"

Hana's eyes widen.

She drops the pillow, stunned.

No one could blame her. She's a teenager who still wants to enjoy the wild thrill of youth, and in front of her is the holy grail: a VIP ticket to LUNAE.

"ACKKKK!!"

Her scream matches his earlier one.

Just like that, the two become best friends again, united by fandom.

She bolts across the room, eyes sparkling.

"Where did you get this?! You're amazing!"

Aiden can't help but smirk.

"I know, right? Your brother is kind of a big deal."

He dramatically fans the tickets like playing cards, revealing not one, but two VIP passes.

"BROTHER!!" "HANA!!"

For the first time ever, they're perfectly in sync.

Then comes a voice with more gravity than either of them can handle.

"Hey. What's all this noise?"

They both freeze. The air turns cold.

Their mother stands at the door, arms folded, eyes narrowed.

"Mo—"

Before Aiden can finish, Hana snatches a ticket and runs over.

"Mother, let's sleep now, okay?"

She gently pulls her away, defusing the situation with expert precision.

But before shutting the door completely, Hana peeks back at Aiden.

"We're even now," she says with a smirk.

Click. The door shuts.

Aiden exhales. "I guess we are."

Now alone, he turns to his desk and powers on his laptop.

He eyes the remaining VIP ticket.

"How much is this even worth?"

He types quickly, searches, scrolls.

His eyes widen.

"What the f—? Six digits?!"

Given LUNAE's stardom, it's not shocking. VIP tickets are scarce, and their value skyrockets in resale.

He nods. "Alright. Time to cash in."

He snaps a photo and posts it.

Within seconds, his socials explode. Messages pour in. Offers flood his inbox.

"This is insane," he mumbles, scrolling.

Then a plan forms.

"I'll close my eyes and pick one. Fate decides."

He counts down.

"One... two... three."

He taps.

"Huh. Seems right."

"I guess chose the right one."

The messages come fast.

"Hey! Is it still available?"

"Yeah."

"Sweet. How much?"

"100,000 won."

"Deal. Send your KakaoPay."

Aiden types in the details.

Ping. The money arrives.

"That was fast."

@lunaefan#1: "Please send me a clear photo of the ticket."

He does.

@lunaefan#1: "Thank you so much!"

In one night, Aiden made a small fortune. Maybe it wasn't the cleanest transaction, but one thing was certain,

The stars definitely did not see this coming.
