Synopsis
Note : This novel is a dating simulator-style visual novel that I developed 20 years ago for a VN game project that unfortunately never saw the light of day. The plot is a bit of a mess since it's two decades old, and I'm rather disinclined to either fix or further develop it. Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Briefing

"To punish and enslave." That's my motto now. The old me is not the same as the current me. Since childhood, I was a crybaby, a coward, easily scared, pampered, and a Mama's boy. Now, I've completely changed since being left in Kyoto to attend a notoriously tough and brutal school. There, they also taught Bushido (武士道: Bushidou), which means "the way of the samurai." My old school was like a combination of Yakuza and a military academy; the education was quite harsh, and all the teachers acted like Yakuza. (If anyone has seen Sakigake!! Otokojuku!! , it was similar to that.) There were very few women at that school. While students usually stayed with local families, I was left at one of the temples in Kyoto.

In the morning, I had to wake up at five to pray, followed by a morning bath and breakfast. Of course, there was also regular schoolwork like any other school. In the afternoon, after classes, we had hand-to-hand combat, firearm, and close-range weapon training. All weapons used were made of wood, and real firearms or swords were not allowed for practice, except during matches. After school, I returned to the temple for dinner and prayers. I used my holidays to clean the entire temple. There was almost no time to play at all. I was left there for 15 years and had to return to my hometown when I was 17. Now, I'm used to this kind of life.

My old name was Amakase Satori. Both my parents were Japanese. Now my name is Hasukawa Hayabusa. Hasu means lotus flower, kawa means river, and Hayabusa means falcon. That name was given to me by the monk who first met and taught me. He said I had a special skill in my life: eyesight as sharp as an eagle's and mystical abilities from my eyes. That's why the monk named me Hayabusa.

The monk who raised me is now over a hundred years old. He said that the Creator would always protect me even if I left Kyoto. He also gave me my parents' belongings when I was ten years old, before a ship accident occurred in the waters of Okinawa. These items were a bankbook, childhood photos with my family, and house keys. Now, I'm going to tell you about this school, from when I was told to enter first grade, before I was in third grade.

Before I returned to my hometown in Nishizawa, I received a letter from someone telling me to immediately come to a school there, called Miyazawa Gakuen (Miyazawa School). Finally, from Kyoto, I traveled to Nishizawa and to that school. Nishizawa City is a city full of mysteries, from rumors of cherry blossom trees that can grant wishes to a cat that can turn into a human, and much more.

The school was quiet because it was Sunday. The school building didn't look bad at all; in fact, it looked like a famous expensive international school. Cherry blossom trees grew everywhere, and many cherry blossoms were falling. Indeed, this school looked much better than my old school.

As soon as I entered, the rooms were absolutely spotless and very clean. Finally, I managed to reach the principal's office. This room, however, was redecorated like a house bedroom; there was even a sliding door where futons (Japanese mattresses made of feathers, easy to fold and dry) were stored. Then, the principal told me to sit on the floor while enjoying a kotatsu (a heater for the inside of a table used in winter).

"You finally came, Amakase Satori." "Amakase Satori is dead, and my name is Hasukawa Hayabusa." "Oh, Hayabusa. Okay, I need your help." "Help?" "Your principal in Kyoto called me to re-enroll you." "Nani?" (What?) I was surprised. "But I only need you to be this school's special bodyguard, or more precisely, this school's police. Even though you've graduated from school in Kyoto, I want you to be like any other normal student." "Oh, I see. You mean I just pretend to go with the flow like the other students, right? Like undercover?" "Exactly, but you won't be alone here. There's one more person who will help too."

As someone entered the principal's office, I turned around. It was someone from my old school, his name is Ken Darius. He's an American notorious for being corrupt, my sworn enemy from back then. He's the most arrogant and power-hungry person, an expert in firearms and explosives. Oh, and he only speaks English but understands Japanese. He and I are like a shark and a crocodile. Quickly, Ken and I pointed our weapons at each other.

"STOP!! PUT DOWN YOUR WEAPONS!!" the Principal yelled.

Finally, Ken and I lowered our weapons simultaneously. I sheathed my sword, and Ken put his pistol back into his jacket, which was full of grenades and ammunition.

"Listen, I need you two to work together." "WHAT!? TEAM WORK WITH HIM!? YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING!!" Ken protested. "You have to work together whether you like it or not, this is for the good of this school. Isn't your motto 'Every day, there's always a mission'?" "Why I must teamwork with you?" "Wakaranai." (I don't understand.)

The principal's words just now left Ken and me speechless. Indeed, the motto of my school was "Every day, there's always a mission," and as a result, Ken and I lost the argument.

"Hayabusa, Ken. Starting tomorrow, you'll attend this school. And I've given you good nicknames. Hayabusa, I'll call you Mister Bushido, and Ken, I'll call you Mister Gunslinger." "Okay," Ken and I said in unison. "Alright, that's all." "Just that? That's it? I'm outta here," Ken left the room. "Excuse me," I left the room.

I went down to the ground floor to go home. Then, I saw a girl hiding among the cherry blossom trees. When I walked past her, she simply disappeared. Was she afraid of meeting other people? Or perhaps she was a ghost? Ah, no, there couldn't be a ghost in broad daylight. I should go home and sleep; maybe I'm just tired.

It was already eleven at night. As soon as I got home, I saw the house I had left a long time ago as a child. For some reason, my house looked very small. As soon as I entered, the room felt very clean, no dirt anywhere. The seemingly renovated house only had one bedroom, a toilet, a combined dining room and kitchen, a living room, and a garage. Being so tired from Kyoto, then to school, I immediately went to sleep in my room. Howaah~~~ Oyasumi [Good night].

First Day of School

The next morning, I returned to that school to attend as its guardian. And still, I had to deal with Ken, again engaging in a pointless duel: a battle between a shotgun and a sword. Heeh~~~, I'd better just leave that kid alone.

This time, the principal took Ken and me to the indoor gymnasium. He said it was just a new student introduction to present Ken and me as Mr. Bushido and Mr. Gunslinger. As soon as I entered, there were more girls than boys. Some of the boys were ordinary, nerdy, bookworms, thugs, and delinquents. Meanwhile, many of the girls were cute and sexy.

The principal began by introducing Ken and me as Mr. Bushido and Mr. Gunslinger, stating that we would be the school police. He also mentioned that Ken and I were graduates of a famous military-like school in Kyoto. After he finished, the principal took me to place me in a different class. Ken was in class 1-1, because Ken's grades were best in Biology and Mathematics, while I was only in class 1-3 because I was only good at history and languages. He also discussed the rules regarding the duties of Mr. Bushido and Mr. Gunslinger. Here are the duties for Mr. Bushido and Mr. Gunslinger:

Main Duties of Mr. Bushido and Mr. Gunslinger:

Protect the security of this school. Make the best impression on all students in this school. Show no mercy to students who cause trouble. Protect the female students in this school. Protect all students, both inside and outside the school. Guard this school at night as well. Show no mercy to school bullies. Protect female teachers. Take them to the disciplinary office if you find the culprits. Never reveal your real name, except to victims you have helped.

After seeing all the school rules, they turned out to be trivial and very easy to follow. Only Ken refused rule "6. Guard this school at night as well," although going to school at night is indeed scary. However, I was confused by rule "4. Protect the female students in this school." Only that rule confused me, and I started talking to the principal.

"Uh, what does rule No. 4 mean?" "You don't know yet? Actually, this school was once protested by parents." "Uh-huh." Ken and I said in unison. "They said a female student was once kidnapped by school bullies here and impregnated by a student there." "HAAAH!?" Ken and I were shocked. "WAIT WAIT WAIT!! THEY GET PREGNANT!?" Ken was shocked. "Yes, the victim was confined and blindfolded, and then she felt her dignity was lost."

Okay, this might sound strange (more precisely, a bit perverted) about this. Maybe this is why the principal recruited people from my school. But well, what can you do, if that's the story. I'm curious what their thuggery is like. And for the rule "Do not harm students with the weapons you carry," this is very easy. Ken just uses super sticky glue bullets like an airsoft gun. And I refused that rule; I prefer to carry my real sword to deal with these school bullies.

After leaving the principal's office, Ken and I returned to class. My homeroom teacher was a man whose behavior was probably like a normal teacher, unlike the teachers at my military school in Kyoto. His name is Shinichi Kuro, a History teacher. Kuro means "Black," dark and delinquent, even though his appearance isn't like a delinquent, and only his hair is black.

Then I borrowed the school's attendance list, precisely to get to know all the students in this school. Besides those from Japan, there were also foreigners, from America, Canada, China, and Korea. I saw one name, her name was Shinichi Midori. This Shinichi name was the same as my homeroom teacher's.

"Uh, sir, are you related to Shinichi Midori?" "Yup, she's my younger sister."

After class ended and recess began, I planned to explore all the facilities I hadn't seen yet. I saw a music room, complete with modern and traditional instruments, separate changing lockers for girls and boys on the ground floor, and an indoor swimming pool for the athletics club. Not bad.

Unexpected Encounter and First Mission

While I was in the middle of exploring, someone suddenly tapped my back. It was Shinichi Midori. She's Kuro-sensei's (teacher's) sister, and she also said she lives with Kuro-sensei. She's also a member of the painting club.

"Need a guide?" "Sure. Uh..., Midori, right?" I started to guess. "Ping Pong!! Exactly!!"

Midori became my guide to see all the rooms in the school. There were some rooms I hadn't seen before: the drama room, the home economics room, the health office, and the cafeteria located downstairs near the drama room and swimming pool.

"Ho~~, so he's Mr. Bushido?" "Why does he look so weak!!" "HOI Mr. Bushido!! Are you showing off with that sword!! A samurai, huh!?"

Okay, it seems like those stupid and rotten thugs are already causing trouble with me, who's still new here. Their faces look like street thugs, unlike the delinquent teachers at my old school. At the perfect moment, Ken and his guide also arrived. His guide was also a girl.

"Mr. Gunslinger, huh? Are you dreaming of being Rambo?" "Watch out everyone!! Rambo has arrived!!" One thug acted like Rambo and the others laughed. "You die, kid." Ken spoke slowly, annoyed.

Then quickly, Ken shot a shotgun loaded with sticky glue pellets at one of the stupid Rambo-acting thugs, right in his face. BANG!! HEAD SHOT!! Then Ken put a grenade in his mouth and held the pin, ready to pull it. Ken had really shown his anger.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY TO ME YOU ASSHOLE!?" Ken was losing control.

Oh yeah, about Ken, he's easily angered and very hot-tempered. He even once fought with a teacher at my old school over his bad test scores, so both the teacher and the student ended up bruised. I only ever fought seniors who had no respect for them; I really don't have any respect for seniors.

"Oh yeah, you said I'm weak and a show-off? Heh!!" I started to show my wild side.

Then I drew my sword and cut their belt straps, making tears in their clothes, and HAH!! Their underwear was a shameful color, PINK!! As they tried to run away holding their pants, which I had slashed, at the same time Ken and I tripped them both simultaneously, and everyone in the cafeteria laughed. It felt good to humiliate these thugs, and the three of them ran away in a hurry.

"YEAH RUN AWAY KID!! AND RUN TO YOUR MOMMY!!" Ken started to stir up the atmosphere.

Then, after their satisfying appearance, two girls ran into the cafeteria in uniforms similar to Midori's and different from the other students. On their right sleeves was a piece of cloth with "Student Council President" written on it. Then it seemed the vice president of the student council started talking to Ken and me, who had put away our weapons.

"You two, what did you two do?" one of the student council members asked. "Three thugs from this school made Mr. Gunslinger and me angry." I sheathed my sword. "It must be them, tsk, never mind if you handled it."

Finally, the two student council members left the cafeteria. Then, Ken and I turned away and also left the cafeteria. It's normal for sworn enemies to act like this.

"Midori, who were those two girls and those thugs just now?" "They are both part of the Student Council named Sasami Kotori and Amakase Otome. As for the group of boys, I don't know who they are; they are senpai (seniors) at this school." "Ho.., it's fine."

As I looked out the window, there was a boy and a girl together. It looked like the boy was asking the girl out, and the girl was refusing. Midori told me that the girl's name was Sumeragi Nanaka. She preferred to be called Nanaka rather than Sumeragi, saying it was more familiar. (Note: Most Japanese people call others by their surname if they don't know them well, and if they use their first name, they are more than just close friends.) She's an idol at this school; she has a beautiful voice that makes boys fall in love with her. Many boys have a crush on her, but she rejects them. I saw her face; she's cute too.

Unexpected Meeting and Uncovered Disguise

Finally, the clock showed two in the afternoon, and it was time to go home from school. I decided to keep this place completely free of delinquent students. This time it was a huge success; there were none at all. Then, I heard a beautiful singing voice. When I peeked through the glass door, it turned out to be Nanaka singing there. Just hearing her song really opened my soul, and... Ara? (Oh?) Why do I feel like I'm falling? Without realizing it, I leaned against the door until the school door broke, and I fell with the door. Nanaka was also surprised.

"Y.. Yo." I greeted her. "A.. Are you okay?" Nanaka approached me. "I'm fine, and also, I broke the door to this room," I got up from my fall which pushed the classroom door until it became a victim. " So Mr. Bushido can be clumsy too, huh." "Yeah, sometimes." I fixed the door, then I spoke again. "Oh yeah, uh..., your name is Sumeragi Nanaka, the idol, right?" "Yes, how do you know my name?" "My classmate Shinichi Midori told me about you. So, I know." "Mr. Bushido, do you like music?" "Yeah, depends on the song, but your voice just now was good."

Finally, after finishing fixing the door, Nanaka invited me to listen to her song until it was finished. After listening to Nanaka's singing, I saw one of the musical instruments in the cupboard. That instrument was a Shamisen (a traditional Japanese guitar). Without realizing it, I ended up playing the Star Wars Imperial March on the shamisen.

"Wow, how did I get so carried away?" I looked stupid. "But you're good at playing the Shamisen." After accompanying Nanaka's singing, Nanaka and I finally decided to go home. I finally went home. It turns out that school there is quite enjoyable. It was still early in the evening, and my stomach was asking for food, because at my house there was only canned food 'Chef Boyardee', a famous canned food in America whose advertising stars are WWE athletes. Finally, after showering and changing clothes, I decided to go out to find food.

To hide my identity at school, I changed my clothes to a different style, wearing a double t-shirt and shirt, and not forgetting a hat to cover my face so it would be difficult for others to recognize me. Because I didn't want my identity to be revealed when I was outside.

I ate in the shopping district; the city was quite crowded at night. I often ate ramen (a type of hand-made noodle, not machine-made) at my usual spot. After I was full, I continued my journey to stroll around. As soon as I entered a notoriously crime-ridden area, I saw a girl wearing my school uniform. I also saw her being approached by three thugs, and I felt like I recognized her waist-length ponytail. It was Amakase Otome.

"Let me pass, you're blocking me." Otome started to snap. "Come on, dear, want me to accompany you?" a seemingly old thug teased. "I said leave me alone, you're blocking me." Otome said loudly. "Come on, pretty lady, let us accompany you." One of the thugs held Otome's shoulder, and Otome shrugged his hand off. Then they immediately tried to assault Otome.

Haah~~~, this is the first time I've had to start my action again to protect a student council member. So, what can I do, I was forced to pull down my hat so Otome wouldn't see me, change my voice, and prepare my gloves to hit them if they started attacking.

"That's enough, you three," I walked slowly towards Otome and the group of thugs. "Ha~? You want to interfere, kid?" One thug walked towards me and showed his thug face. "She said move, you don't understand?" "You're bothering me, kid!!"

Immediately, the thug punched me in the face, and I successfully parried and slammed him using some wrestling techniques I had learned. Then another thug tried to punch me in the face too, and I managed to perform another wrestling slam. And the third thug ambushed Otome and pointed his knife at her.

"Don't come closer!! Or she'll get hurt!!" "Oh~~, turns out you're a coward too, huh." I raised my eyebrow. "HAH!?" The thug was confused. "You were born a man and became a thug. You're in a desperate situation and you dare to take someone hostage and threaten? You're really a chicken, huh~~," I started to annoy him and walked slowly towards Otome. "I said don't come closer!!" He acted even more like a coward. "Chicken~ Chicken~ Bak-bak-bak-bak~ bak~" I made him feel ashamed. "HWAAAH!! I'M NOT A COWARD!!"

Then the thug released Otome and attacked me, swinging his knife. Quickly, I grabbed a piece of wood so the knife would stick into it, and I could break his arm and also slam him like a WWE wrestler. Finally, the three bastard thugs fell and ran away, leaving Otome and me. I walked closer to Otome.

"Are you okay?" I helped Otome up. "Ah, yes. I'm fine." Otome stood up from her fear after being held hostage by one of the thugs. "Um, thank you." "It's fine, go home quickly. There are many delinquents if you pass this way." "Ah, wait a minute. I feel like I know you."

Nani? (What?), Otome knows me, even though my voice changed, my face was completely covered by my hat, and my appearance wasn't the same as when I was Mr. Bushido. Does Otome have strong analytical skills?

"Ah, you're Mr. Bushido, right?!" Otome said it accurately. "Ha? Mr. Bushido? Who's that?" I just pretended to be stupid. "Don't lie, you are Mr. Bushido, aren't you?" "Don't be mistaken, I don't know you either."

Suddenly, a strong wind blew so hard that my hat flew off my head quite far away, and unfortunately, after it stopped, my disguise was revealed. This was all because of that damn wind. Argh!!

"See, I told you. You are Mr. Bushido, aren't you?" "Yeah..., exactly." I could only stay silent and give in.

Finally, I was forced to tell Otome my real name because she insisted on knowing it. Then I walked Otome home. Her house was quite far from mine. She lived alone because her parents were busy working abroad. Finally, I said goodbye to Otome after walking her home.

On my way home, I heard someone singing. I recognized the singing voice, and I followed it. I looked at one of the houses, it was only two houses away from mine. I recognized the voice singing that song, exactly like Nanaka's voice. I just listened to Nanaka's singing and watched from the window. Then, without realizing it, Nanaka opened the window and looked at me. Then I pretended to be waiting for someone so I wouldn't be mistaken for a criminal, and my phone rang, and it turned out Nanaka was calling me.

"Hello?" "Mr. Bushido, where are you?" "I'm at home, why?" "There's a strange person in front of my house." "Characteristics?" "He's wearing a hat, a shirt with a t-shirt, blue pants, and gray shoes. He seems to be on the phone." "Nanaka!! It's me!!" I immediately spoke to Nanaka through the window and took off my hat. "HE!? It's Mr. Bushido!?. What were you doing?" Nanaka was surprised. "Oh, just strolling around. Just bored at home." "Where's your house?" "Just two houses away, and you'll arrive." "Oh, okay then. See you at school tomorrow, Mr. Bushido." "Ah, you too."

When Nanaka closed her window and went into her room, I went back home. This time I had interesting experiences: I met Otome and saved her from delinquents, and Nanaka's house was only two houses away from mine, and only Otome knew my real name. Yes, that's what happened since I was told to enter 1st grade of high school, and the next part will begin the real mission when I'm in 2nd grade of high school and meet other kids.
