Chapter 16 - Chapter 14: Currents Beneath the Surface

The sun over Coruscant barely crested the horizon when Revan rose from his meditation. He stood atop one of the Temple's open-air spires, breathing in the city's mechanical wind. Below him, the Republic bustled with ignorance of the shadow about to fall over it. But above, in the currents of the Force, Revan felt it—something was shifting.

The duel on Tatooine had left ripples across the galaxy. Revan didn't need a report to know it had happened. He had felt it. A warrior cloaked in anger and wielding a blade unlike anything used in centuries—Sith. He had sensed Qui-Gon's desperation in the Force and the boy… Anakin. Revan didn't know the child's full role yet, but the storm that followed him was unmistakable.

Back in the Temple, the Jedi Council convened in secret. Word had reached them of Qui-Gon Jinn's arrival. He was bringing the Queen of Naboo and a boy—one said to have no father and a connection to the Force that alarmed even seasoned Masters. Revan knew this had to be the boy he had sensed, the same child caught in the duel.

But the Council had little time to ponder this mystery. Revan had already requested an audience to speak about what he'd felt. It didn't go as planned.

Inside the High Council Chambers

"Disturbance, sensed you have," Master Yoda said, his tone calm but skeptical.

Revan stood firm in the center, arms folded across his dark robe. "It wasn't just a disturbance, Master Yoda. It was dark. Ancient. This wasn't some rogue darksider playing Sith. This was the real thing."

Mace Windu leaned forward, his expression sharp. "You are certain?"

"I faced the Sith before. I remember how they feel. This was no pretender. The darkness behind him was cold… calculating. It's moving now, not waiting. I'm warning you—this is only the beginning."

The Council exchanged glances. Most remained skeptical. Even Ki-Adi-Mundi, often a thoughtful voice, shook his head.

"The Sith have been extinct for a millennium. It's more likely the boy triggered something in your memories. An echo."

Revan's eyes narrowed. "You think I don't know the difference between the past and the present?"

Only Yoda remained quietly observant, his hand to his chin. His eyes locked with Revan's, not in defiance, but deep reflection.

"Hmmm… Dangerous you have been, once. But wise you have become. Yet the Council must be sure."

"I understand," Revan said. "But when your certainty fails, I'll be ready."

As Revan turned to leave, he passed by Yoda, who whispered, "The past, not forgotten. But the future, unclear it is."

Revan gave a respectful nod and exited without another word.

Later That Day — Training Grounds

Aayla Secura met Revan in the lightsaber sparring chamber. Their sessions had evolved beyond drills; now they danced like equals. She had begun to see not just the Knight—but the man. Revan, despite his calm exterior, held a depth and intensity she found magnetic. Shaak Ti occasionally observed them, often providing insight or commentary, sometimes playfully teasing them both.

Naruto, now five, sat off to the side with a young Ahsoka, eating what could generously be called lunch. The two pranksters were quietly sketching something under the table. Ahsoka whispered, "Do you think it'll work?"

Naruto grinned. "Oh, it'll work. The hover-chairs will rotate every time a Master tries to speak."

"Even Master Yoda?"

"Especially Master Yoda."

Unfortunately for them, Shaak Ti had excellent hearing.

"Whatever you two are planning," she said, not even turning around, "I'll be confiscating it in three… two—"

"Abort the mission!" Naruto whispered, diving under the table.

Revan chuckled, still mid-duel with Aayla. "He's definitely improving. In stealth, at least."

"That's because he's got a lot to hide," Shaak Ti replied, arching a brow at Ahsoka.

"I'm just the innocent sidekick," Ahsoka grinned.

Their punishment later involved scrubbing the Temple's meditation fountains with cloths that mysteriously squirted water every time they were wrung out. Jedi passing by paused to watch, barely hiding their amusement.

Still, the Temple buzzed with rumors. That Revan had returned. That he had bested Masters in spars. That Shaak Ti and Aayla Secura both seemed unusually attached to him. And now, whispers of a boy who could be "the Chosen One."

But Revan didn't dwell on the rumors. He focused on training, on Naruto, and on building relationships he'd never allowed himself to have in his past life.

Outside the Temple, Nightfall

As the stars shimmered over Coruscant, Revan stood on the edge of the balcony, watching the Temple lights dim one by one. He closed his eyes and reached out.

The darkness he felt hadn't gone. It was waiting. Growing stronger.

"Soon," he whispered, "the Sith will rise again."

And this time… he would be ready.

(Note we left off—Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and Queen Amidala have returned to Coruscant. Revan continues training and mentoring, while the presence of Anakin Skywalker introduces tension, questions, and a growing storm sensed only by a few.)
