Chapter 12 - Ch-12 “A Glimpse into Oblivion”

Angel Levi arrived at the ceremony hall, apologizing for his delay. The head priest and head official carefully placed an ancient holy book in front of Kazuki, its cover gleaming with an ethereal light. Countless Holy Spirits lingered within the pages, their soft auras flickering like gentle flames. The gathered crowd fell silent, anticipation thick in the air.

Levi leaned toward Emperor Shang with a small smile and whispered, "He's already been chosen by a spirit."

Shang raised an eyebrow, confused. "Already?"

Without further delay, Kazuki reached out and touched the holy book. In an instant, his consciousness was pulled deep within his soul realm — a vast, infinite space of shimmering energy and shifting light. Kazuki recognized this place. It was the same realm where the terrifying Chaos Spirit often appeared, the one responsible for his rebirth. But this time, the Chaos Spirit was nowhere to be seen.

Instead, standing before him was a radiant figure. A Holy Spirit, her presence calming and pure. She wore robes of light and her gentle voice echoed through the soul realm as she spoke, "I am the daughter of the Right Hand of Julius, and Lord Julius himself sent me to you. I will be your first spirit."

Kazuki blinked in surprise. An angel-type Holy Spirit as my first contract…?

But before he could speak further, the familiar, chilling presence returned. Those cold, gleaming blue eyes appeared high in the sky, and the Chaos Spirit's mocking voice filled the realm.

"The first what?" the Chaos Spirit sneered.

The Holy Spirit's expression hardened. "Who are you?"

The Chaos Spirit laughed darkly, his voice like distant thunder. "I'll let you live inside his soul and help him — for now. I want to see how far you can go. But hear this: do not tell Julius, or anyone else, about me or about our connection. You understand?"

The Holy Spirit stood firm. "I only take orders from Lord Julius. He has commanded me to protect this child, and so I shall."

The Chaos Spirit's laughter grew louder. "Brave words. But you might want to look ahead before you decide."

The Chaos Spirit's eyes glowed brighter. "You have future foresight, don't you? Then look into Kazuki's future. See what fate awaits."

The Holy Spirit hesitated, then focused her power, trying to see the child's fate — but what she found was only impenetrable darkness. Nothing. No timeline, no destiny, no path. Just emptiness.

"What… what is this?" she murmured.

The Chaos Spirit's voice lowered. "Fine. I'll give you a glimpse. One timeline. The one where you defy me and reveal my existence."

And with a wave of energy, the Holy Spirit saw it — a future where every angel, every living being, even Lord Julius himself, lay dead. The world drowned in ruin. Only Kazuki remained, standing alone in the aftermath of annihilation.

The vision faded, and the Holy Spirit reeled back, her face pale and her voice caught in her throat. The Chaos Spirit smirked.

"Now you see," the Chaos Spirit whispered. "Do your duty, little spirit. Protect him. But stay silent."

With that, the Chaos Spirit vanished into the void, leaving the Holy Spirit shaken, and Kazuki silently watching, his heart pounding. He knew, now more than ever, that his path ahead would not be an easy one.
