Chapter 1 - Prologue

Dead worlds.

Planets ravaged by apocalypse.

It is often said that dead worlds are barren; devoid of life; desolate. However, one should never blindly believe everything they hear.

For somewhere in our universe, hidden deep inside these barren worlds might lie...

Crash

The little girl jumped at the sound of breaking glass, dropping the old Walkman she was listening to. A few seconds later her father came running through the door, panic evident in his eyes. He took in the sight of his daughter with the Walkman at her feet, the cassette having popped out of the device from the shock of the fall and the broken glass by the window and let out a sigh of relief.

Across the room, a white cat had jumped in through the window and knocked over a glass vase.

The man quickly shooed away the cat before carrying his daughter into the kitchen, away from the glass shards. Handing her a sloth plush toy, he headed off to clean up the broken glass. Then he turned his attention to the Walkman.

It was an old model his grandfather had used in his youth. The man had found it in a box of old items while emptying out their attic and simply placed it on a shelf along with framed photos of his father and grandfather. He had never opened it before, never even thought that maybe, there was a cassette left in there. Seeing the strange symbols written on the label of the cassette, the man decided to lock it in a drawer in his office, worried about strange music that might affect his daughter. The Walkman itself, he placed back on the self before joining his daughter in the kitchen.

Across the city, in the basement of a skyscraper, an eldritch being rose out of a complex diagram, rage smouldering in its eyes.
