Chapter 5 - MAGIC

#Magic

#Episode_4

It was the night of the moon eclipse 🌘.

Within moments, they all left the beach in their cars. There were three cars.

Jenny's red BMW was ahead of the other two.

Haroon was sitting beside her, thinking about why Helen had told him to sit with Jenny.

"Are you here for a job?"

Jenny broke the silence with a question.

"Yeah. By the way, where are we going now?"

Haroon asked, looking at her.

"We're going to a farmhouse outside the city, and we'll perform some rituals there,"

Jenny said, glancing at him.

"Oh. How long will it take?" Haroon asked.

"It might take two hours or maybe the whole night—because tonight is very important.

Are you getting bored with us?"

"Oh no, not at all. I was just asking."

Haroon forced a smile.

"Good. Then why don't you talk to me?" Jenny said playfully.

Haroon looked at her carefully, wondering what he should talk about.

"Why did you choose this difficult field? People your age usually prefer to enjoy life,"

Haroon asked after a brief pause.

"Who told you I don't enjoy life?"

Jenny laughed softly.

"Oh no... I mean... I... uh..." Haroon stammered, at a loss for words.

Jenny burst into laughter.

"Do you enjoy life?" Jenny asked with a meaningful look.

Haroon looked at her nervously, and she smiled.

"I like you."

Haroon was shocked at her bluntness and stared at her in surprise.

"There's something strange about you. A unique attraction.

When I first saw you, I was truly impressed,"

Jenny kept speaking while Haroon wondered what to say.

"Thanks. I'm glad you like me.

And... I think we can be good friends,"

Haroon finally replied after some thought.

Jenny smiled at him. After about twenty minutes of driving, the car turned onto a side road.

The road appeared long, lined with trees on both sides. Total darkness surrounded them.

The grass and bushes along the way were part of that darkness.

After driving on this road for about ten minutes, their car came to a stop.

On the left side, a tall wall appeared with a large gate.

Jenny and Haroon got out of the car and walked up to the gate.

Jenny simply placed her hand on it, and the gate began to open on its own.

Haroon stared in disbelief.

Jenny held Haroon's hand and led him inside.

Inside, Helen, Shaan, and the other friends were already there.

Seeing this, Haroon asked Helen in surprise,

"You got here before us? But you were behind us."

"We flew here," Helen laughed.

But noticing Haroon's serious expression, she added,

"Don't worry, we just took a shortcut."

They were in an old-style building now.

There were large statues—half-human, half-beast.

They began walking as a group and stopped at a door.

This time, Shaan waved his hand, and the door opened.

"The doors are locked with our fingerprints,"

Helen whispered to Haroon, noticing he looked nervous.

When they entered, there were lanterns all around—brightly lighting the space.

They walked through and entered a hall where a huge statue stood—

again half-human, half-beast.

They stood before it with both hands placed on their navels in reverence,

murmuring something under their breaths.

Haroon stood at a distance watching the scene.

He saw Shaan standing very close to Helen, with his hand around her waist.

Haroon didn't like this at all and regretted coming with Helen.

He decided he would never come with her again.

Just then, Jenny walked toward Haroon.

"Come with me... I want to show you something."

Haroon glanced at Helen in confusion—she was avoiding his gaze.

"Helen... tell him to come with me.

I'm not going to suck his blood," Jenny said.

Helen came up to Haroon, placed her hand on his shoulder, and asked,

"Are you nervous? Didn't you say you love seeing new and beautiful things?

Look at her—she's asking you so sweetly to come along."

"No, sis, I'm not nervous," Haroon replied.

Thinking he might be seen as a coward, Haroon followed Jenny.

Jenny held his hand and led him up the stairs.

Haroon saw many rooms upstairs—it felt like a maze.

Jenny stopped at a room, waved her hand on the door, and it opened.

She stepped inside.

"Come, Haroon... come in," Jenny said, pulling him in by the arm.

It was a large bedroom, with beautiful mirrors on all sides.

Haroon could see his reflection everywhere.

Jenny let go of his arm and fell onto the bed, gazing at him with dreamy eyes.

"Come closer," she said.

Haroon raised an eyebrow at her, and Jenny smiled.

"Come sit and talk to me."

When Haroon sat down next to her, she placed her hand on his.

"I really like you, Haroon. We could spend a lovely time here together."

"That's enough. Let's go now,"

Haroon said impatiently, as he had understood her intentions.

"Why?" Jenny asked immediately, her tone soft.

"Because I don't like this,"

Haroon said angrily for the first time.

"But I do," Jenny said firmly.

"I'm going to Helen and telling her we need to leave now,"

Haroon rushed toward the door—but couldn't open it.

He turned to look at Jenny.

"Why won't this door open?" Haroon asked.

"Because I sealed it with my magic," Jenny said with a mocking smile.

"Why did you do that?" Haroon asked bitterly.

"So I could spend time with you," Jenny replied, unfazed.

"But... I don't want this," Haroon said, frustrated.

"So what? I do," Jenny said.

Haroon tried again to open the door, but failed.

He gave up, dropped his hands, and looked at Jenny.

"You young men are always looking for opportunities like this.

And here you are, trying to waste it," Jenny said.

"Look… I'll complain to Helen about you!" Haroon threatened.

"Helen?" Jenny smirked.

"What will she do? She follows my orders."

"What do you mean?" Haroon said, shocked.

"Only I hold power here. No one dares to disobey me.

And Helen brought you here because I told her to,"

Jenny said with a meaningful smile.

"Still... I need to leave," Haroon said firmly.

"Mr... You can't leave!" Jenny's tone suddenly turned harsh.

"Here, only what I want happens!"

"You have no right to control me!"

Haroon snapped back.

"Whatever I like belongs to me,"

Jenny growled.

"Look... no one dares to go against my wishes.

So just let what I want happen."

Jenny started moving closer.

Haroon grabbed her shoulders and pushed her away with force.

She fell down a little distance away.

"What did you just do?"

Jenny said, furious.

"You'll regret this badly!"

"If you come closer again, I'll do worse!"

Haroon barked.

Jenny took a deep breath as if swallowing poison, then stood up.

"Fine. Let's see what you can do to me.

Maybe you don't realize how powerful I am.

But before that... tell me this—

what do I lack? You said you like beautiful things. Then why reject me?"

"Because I don't see you that way," Haroon replied.

"Why not? Am I not beautiful?"

Jenny pushed him in anger.

"Look, if I tell you, you'll be even angrier.

So I don't want to argue. Please let me go,"

Haroon turned to leave.

Jenny, enraged, grabbed him by the back of his shirt—ripping it.

He stumbled and hit the dressing table.

"You're not going anywhere until you tell me!"

Jenny shouted, her eyes blazing.

Haroon, angry now, grabbed her arm and threw her on the bed.

"You want to know? Fine, listen—

Yes, you're beautiful.

But to me, you look like a prostitute.

And I hate women like that!"

"What did you say? You bastard!"

Jenny screamed in fury and pain.

She grabbed a vase and smashed it on Haroon's head.

He tried to hold onto the table, but stumbled and collapsed to the floor—bleeding.

Jenny stood over him.

"I'm not the prostitute—Helen is!

The one you call 'sister-in-law'.

And your filthy, greedy brother only married her to get nationality here.

It's you lowlifes who come begging in this country,

and then do all sorts of things to get residency!"

Haroon stared at her in shock as everything went dark before his eyes.

"What have you done, Jenny?!"

Helen cried out in panic.

"I'm sorry, Helen. He made me mad—he insulted me!"

Jenny snapped.

"You said you only wanted to spend one night with him—

and now you've cracked his head open!

What will I tell Asad now?

He'll divorce me... take me to court...

and I'll be ruined!"

Helen cried in fear.

"Trust me, Asad can't—" (TO BE CONTINUED...)
