In the Infirmary, Suzy was lying on her side in a medical cot while Medic placed his claw against her head. Jack, Matthew, Kevin, and Michelle looked at Medic. "How is she?" Matthew asked.
Medic rolled toward Matthew. "It seems like she calmed down for the moment," he said. Jack looked at Medic. "Is there any possible way to help her?" he asked.
Medic looked down. "I wish there were a way, but it's difficult for someone with dissociative amnesia," he said. Michelle looked at Medic. "And that's different from regular amnesia?" she asked.
Medic nodded. "While regular amnesia for the most part is caused by physical trauma, dissociative amnesia is caused by psychological trauma," he said. "If I were to hypothesize, the reason why she can't remember her past is because of the trauma of being turned into a toy."
Medic looked down. "And the scientific way to treat those with dissociative amnesia is through psychotherapy or hypnosis," he continued. Kevin looked down and crossed his arms, which made Michelle look at him before rubbing his back.
Jack thought of something before looking at Medic. "What if we could reenact one of Suzy's good memories? Would it be possible for her to remember?" he asked.
Medic placed his claw against his screen. "I haven't heard of anything like that before, but it could be possible for it to work," he said.
Matthew looked at Kevin. "Do you know of anything Suzy liked when she was Katie?" he asked. Kevin looked at Matthew. "Well... every time Katie would get tired, Misha used to sing her a lullaby and that always helped her get to sleep," he said.
Jack smiled. "So if we could get Misha to sing—" Michelle looked down. "I'm not doing it." Matthew looked at Michelle, surprised, while Jack looked at her, shocked. "What?" he asked.
Michelle looked at the duo. "I said I'm not doing it," she said. "This theory you have... what if it has an opposite effect? What if it hurts her head worse than it normally does?" Medic hummed. "That can also be a possibility if we were to reenact a memory," he said.
Tears pricked Michelle's eyes before she looked down. "I'm not taking any risks like that... the last thing I want to do is hurt Katie..." she said, lowly.
Jack frowned a bit before thinking of something. "What if someone can reassure you that it'll work?" he asked before looking at Kevin. "You think it'll work, right, Kev?" Kevin remained silent and looked down. "Kevin?" Jack asked.
Soon after, Kevin looked at Jack. "I'm with Misha on this one," he said, which shocked him. "I'm not comfortable with those risks either." Jack approached Kevin. "How could you say something like that! She's your sister?!" he shouted.
Kevin glared at Jack. "That's right, my sister," he said. "And as her older brother, I'm going to keep her safe from harm..." Jack growled a bit. "But what if this actually helps her?!" he shouted. "Please, Kevin!"
Kevin growled. "She's my family and my decision is final, damn it; I'm not gonna let anyone hurt her!" he shouted. Dough tears pricked Jack's eyes before he closed them. "That's rich coming from the one who killed my parents?!" he shouted, which made Kevin's eyes widen.
Matthew looked at Jack. "That's too far, Jack!" he shouted. Jack froze with widened eyes as he covered his mouth. "He did what?" the trio turned their heads to a shocked and mortified Michelle.
Dough tears fell from Jack's eyes before closing them and running away, which made Matthew hold his hand out to him. "Jack, come back!" he shouted.
Michelle turned her head to Kevin as he turned away. "Kevin... is what he said true?" she asked; he remained silent and crossed his arms.
When Michelle looked at Kevin's hands, she noticed his claws digging into his arms. He usually does that when he doesn't want to admit he's done something horrible, she thought.
Michelle took a deep breath and exhaled before approaching Kevin and firmly placing her hand against his arm, which made him stop. "We can talk about it at another time or not at all," she said. "Right now, I'm going to go find Jack."
Michelle removed her hand before walking forward; when she was out of sight, Kevin trembled. Matthew looked at Kevin, concerned. "Kevin..." he said, lowly. The group heard steps in the main room. "I need some help over here!" Hoppy Hopscotch shouted.
Matthew approached Kevin. "C'mon, we should get going," he said. Kevin slowly nodded before he and Matthew fused into Doey; he picked Medic up before approaching the opening.
When the duo was out of sight, Suzy opened her eyes and looked down. Big Brother was fighting among himself again because of me... she thought before covering her face. The only way for that to stop is if I'm out of the picture...
Michelle entered a small room with a stage on the opposite side and looked around. "Jack?" she asked. Michelle heard crying, making her turn her head to the right; she saw Jack hiding in the corner, crying.
Michelle was heartbroken before slowly approaching Jack. "Jack," she said. Jack looked forward and saw Michelle approaching him. "Are you alright?" she asked. When Michelle held her hand out, Jack shrank back, which made her frown a bit.
Michelle stepped back. "Alright, I won't touch you unless you're comfortable with it," she said before sitting across from Jack. "I'll sit here and we'll go at your pace."
Jack stared at Michelle before looking down; soon after, he crawled out of the corner before sitting beside her and laying his head against her arm, which made her smile a bit.
Jack looked at the ground. "You probably hate me now, don't you?" he asked. Michelle was shocked and looked at Jack. "Now, why would you think that?" she asked.
Jack trembled as dough tears pricked his eyes. "It's my fault Kevin is like that in the first place," he said. "Had I not lean against the rails... I wouldn't have fallen into the vat, and he would've been normal."
Michelle frowned a bit and looked down. "Even if that were true, they probably would've turned him into a different toy," she said.
Jack looked away. "Sometimes I wish I could be dead again," he said, which made Michelle's eyes widen. "That way... I can be with Mommy and Daddy again..." Michelle hugged Jack, which shocked him. "Never say something like that again..." she said.
Michelle stopped hugging Jack and looked at him while placing her hands on his shoulders. "Your Mommy and Daddy wouldn't want you saying awful stuff like that, would they?" she asked.
Jack looked down and shook his head. "For all the horrible stuff this company did... you're one of the good things that came out of this mess," Michelle said, which made him look at her. "Kevin might not say it personally, but he agrees with me on it too..."
Jack stared at Michelle before dough tears fell from his eyes; soon after, he hugged her, crying against her shoulder. Michelle smiled a bit with tears pricking her eyes as she gently rubbed her hand against Jack's back. "There, there..." she said, lowly. "It's alright now..."
After Jack let go and wiped his dough tears away, Michelle looked at him. "Are you feeling better?" she asked. Jack nodded. "Yeah... much better..." he said. "Though as I was hugging you... it felt like something was poking me..."
Michelle was confused before remembering. "Ah, that's right," she said as she dug into her jacket pocket.
Soon after, Michelle pulled out a pale yellow VHS tape. "I forgot I had this VHS tape in my jacket pocket," she continued before looking at it. "So much was going on that I forgot about it."
Jack turned his head to the left. "Well, there's a TV in here; you can watch it in that," he said. Michelle turned her head to the right and saw a TV with a pale yellow VHS player under it. "Well ain't that convenient," she said before standing up and approaching it.
Michelle inserted the tape into the player before sitting down and looking at the screen. Soon after, the duo heard crying, which made Jack frown a bit. "That's Poppy..." he said, lowly.
Michelle stared at the screen. "Poppy...? Are you there?" Ollie asked. The duo heard Poppy sniffling. "Yes... yes, I'm here," she said. "When you didn't answer, I... I mean... a-are you feeling OK?" Ollie asked. "I'm OK..." Poppy said before sniffling. "Really."
Jack frowned a bit. "Did the bad men hurt you?" Ollie asked. "There's nothing more they can do to hurt me. Nothing more than what they've already done," Poppy said. "Something's bothering you, Poppy. Something you... need to talk about?" Ollie asked.
"I don't need anything tonight. Ollie, I just want to sleep," Poppy said. "I think there's more to this. More that you're not telling me," Ollie said. "There's not," Poppy said. "I know what you're doing, Poppy. Talking like that. Don't think for a second that I believe it," Ollie said.
Jack was worried. "Just tell me what you're feeling. Please, just talk to me honestly," Ollie continued. "Talk? Talk?! You want me to talk?!" Poppy shouted.
"Yes, yes, I—" Poppy interrupted Ollie. "And what will talking do, huh?! Will talking to you make them stop?!" Jack covered his mouth a bit. "N-No, it..." Ollie said, lowly.
"I'm scared, Ollie. Is that what you want to hear? I'm scared, and I'm angry, and... and I really don't know what to do..." Poppy said. "The bad men don't say what they want. They don't listen. They don't care how much anything hurts..."
Michelle remained silent and looked down. "It's been weeks and weeks of taking things out and putting them back in and taking things out and putting them back in," Poppy continued. "Over and over and over. Nothing's EVER gotten better. And it'll never GET better."
Dough tears pricked Jack's eyes. "But you know what scares me more than anything, Ollie?" Poppy asked rhetorically. "It scares me that every time they do it... every time they peel me open... I feel it less! LESS...! I hate them. And I hate him. And I hate..."
The duo heard Poppy sniffle. "I'm nothing now, Ollie. No one. I'm a thing... and nothing they can do hurts me more than that," she said.
"You're not nothing to me; you're Poppy. And talking with you. Like this... I know it doesn't make any of what they do right; it can't." Ollie said.
Michelle looked at the screen. "But it makes me feel like a piece of me is still here. No matter how small they make it," Ollie continued. "Next to all of that. Next to whatever they do... it means everything."
Soon after, the duo could hear Poppy crying. "I'm here, Poppy; for you, I'll always be here," Ollie said before the TV ended. Dough tears fell from Jack's eyes. "I had no idea... Poppy went through that kind of pain..." he said, lowly. "I feel so bad for her..."
Michelle remained silent and stared at the TV with an emotionless expression. Jack looked at Michelle, concerned. "Misha?" he asked. Michelle flinched a bit and rubbed the back of her neck. "Y-Yeah, very sad..." she said before standing up. "C'mon, we should get out of here..."
Jack nodded as he stood up and held Michelle's hand before they left the room. When the duo was close to Suzy's cot, Jack stopped and looked at her. Soon after, Jack petted Suzy's head. "Get some rest, Suzy..." he said, lowly.
Michelle stared at Jack before chuckling a bit. "You love her, don't you?" she asked. Jack flinched a bit and looked away with a slight blush. "Maybe..." he said, lowly.
Michelle smiled and petted Jack's head. "I think she'd love you, too," she said. Jack smiled a bit before they walked away. When the duo was out of sight, Suzy looked around before slipping out of her medical cot in a puddle-like form and slithering away.
