Chapter 7 - chapter 7

Meanwhile, in the grand halls of the werewolf kingdom, the air buzzed with anticipation as Alpha King Jayson sat at the head of a grand oak table, surrounded by his council of wise elders and his son Prince Jayden.

The flickering candlelight cast dancing shadows on the walls, enhancing the seriousness of their discussion regarding the upcoming mating and crowning ceremony set to take place in just three and a half weeks-an event steeped in tradition and significance.

Suddenly, Jessica, the king's astute and composed secretary, stepped into the chamber, her voice breaking the weighty silence. "Your Majesty, there's an urgent call for you," she announced, her expression tinged with concern.

He arched an eyebrow, curiosity piqued and slightly annoyed. "Whose call could possibly warrant your interruption during such an important conversation?" he inquired, his tone a mixture of authority and intrigue.

"They claim to be from the Lycan race and wish to speak with you regarding a matter of great significance," she explained, her voice steady amid the rising tension in the room.

At the mention of the Lycan, a collective gasp echoed as the council members exchanged furtive glances, their unease palpable.

The legends of the Lycan—a powerful and often feared race—had long been whispered among the packs, but few dared to believe they could be real.

"Connect the call," the king commanded, his voice resolute but laced with an undercurrent of apprehension.

Jessica promptly stepped out of the room, her movements swift and purposeful as she established the connection. Moments later, her voice drifted back into the chamber, "The call is live, Your Majesty."

"Hello, good afternoon. You are speaking with the king," Jayson greeted, his voice steady yet cautious as he leaned closer to the speaker.

The conversation flowed, rich with gravity as they discussed matters that held the weight of their collective future. After several tense moments, the king nodded, his expression settling into a look of determination. "Okay, alright, we will be there," he affirmed before concluding the call. "Yes, no problem. Have a great day."

As he set down the receiver, curiosity surged amongst the elders. "What was that about? I hope all is well. What did the Lycan reveal to you?" they pressed, their voices tinged with a mix of worry and intrigue.

"It's rather complicated, and I need to discuss it with everyone at once. I will call a meeting with all the packs so we can tackle this together," he replied, his tone firm yet reassuring.

"Alright, I will summon all the packs for emergency meetings tomorrow afternoon," Prince Jayden announced, determination flashing in his eyes.

With that, the meeting came to a close, the ambiance shifting from tension to a focused urgency and postponing the initial reasons for the meeting.

The following day, all the high-ranking members of the werewolf kingdom with Alpha and Luna of each pack had already arrived for the meeting. The Alpha king Jayson stood before a gathering of high ranking members, the tension in the air thick with expectation.

"Good afternoon, everyone. I trust you are not displeased with this emergency meeting," he began, his voice resonating with authority.

"Not at all, Your Majesty. Your call implies the presence of an urgent matter," the elders, Alphas, and Lunas replied earnestly, their faces a mask of seriousness.

"Yes, there is indeed a matter of great consequence," the king declared, his eyes scanning the assembly.

He drew in a breath before unveiling the shocking revelation. "We received communication from the Lycan Empire," he said, watching as gasps rippled through the crowd.

"Do they exist?" one Alpha exclaimed, disbelief etched on his face. "We thought they were merely a tale told to frighten pups!"

"Yes, they exist," Jayson affirmed a hint of awe in his voice.

"Even if they are real, what could possibly compel them to call? I hope everything is alright," one of the Luna inquired, worrying, shadowing her expression.

"Yes, all is well," the king responded, his demeanor steady.

"They reached out to inform us of their return to the world and have invited us to a celebration in their honor," he revealed, the gravity of his words sinking in.

"When is the celebration?" the crowd asked, eager yet anxious.

"In one and a half weeks," he clarified. "We will attend alongside select Alphas and Lunas, as well as notify your packs about the Lycan."

"Understood, we will prepare," they replied, the weight of this monumental news settling upon them as they looked ahead to the challenges — and perhaps alliances — that lay ahead.

All the races, other than the werewolves, had received communication from the Lycan clan, stirring a frenzy of excitement as they were looking forward to seeing the place the Lycan isolated themselves and how they look. They were busily prepared for the grand celebrations lay ahead, on the horizon. Mystical beings from every corner of the earth buzzed with anticipation.

In stark contrast, deep within a vast underground palace—a lavish sanctuary carved from ancient stone and adorned with intricate carvings—an ominous aura hung in the air. This opulent dwelling stretched beneath the national council meeting's residential area, its vast halls echoing with whispers of secrets long embedded in its walls. A man reclined on an intricately designed couch, the dim flicker of candlelight reflecting off his sharp features and raven-black attire. He exuded a dangerous allure, his narrowed eyes fixated on the figure who stood before him, visibly trembling.

This man, a messenger dressed in simple garb, appeared nervous as he delivered important news

"So, you're telling me that the Lycans have publicly announced their return to the world?" he asked, his voice smooth as silk, yet tinged with a menacing curiosity.

"Yes, sir," the messenger responded, his own voice trembling slightly under the weight of the significant news.

"Fascinating," the man replied, a sly smile curling across his lips, revealing a hint of malice. "It appears that my meticulous schemes regarding the supernatural beings, particularly those aligned with the Lycan legacy, are almost complete. Let them rejoice in their return, blissfully unaware of the brewing storm that will soon descend upon them." His voice resonated with dark satisfaction, a sinister promise that their return would soon be eclipsed by unforeseen consequences.
