Han Daon had merely been three years old during the time of the apocalypse that changed the balance of the origin universe completely.
At that time, the person in charge of him had nonchalantly discarded him with the intention to let him be killed.
However he had fallen into a sewer with no way of coming out until after the universe had been dominated by the Eternals.
And fourteen years later— which makes him seventeen years exactly, he is about to enter his very first cultivation realm however… There's a catch!
Lee Dong and the man who sat in the sky. According to him, he controls the universe like its own maze.
Previously, he had almost killed Lee Dong but due to some unforeseen circumstances, the strange man had warped time, taking it back to the very beginning and at the same time, swapped their power.
Now, Han Daon is at the mercy of Lee Dong's double edged sword— which technically is he's.
And then the sword slashed downwards, parting the air in a swift and precise move.
Han Daon saw no way to dodge except wielding the bony shield that Lee Dong had used…
Han Daon isn't Lee Dong so he put his brains to good use and the very moment when the sword descended upon him, Han Daon made his own move, dashing forward sluggishly, due to human limitations.
But that did not stop him.
The bony frame immediately struck the ground and strange bone protrusions pierced the ground open, pushing Han Daon into the ground, while Lee Dong's sword slashed the air apart.
Han Daon shivered, hearing the terrifying slash sound made by the sword.
That would have cut him open if he hadn't planned a way out.
Meanwhile, the man who sat in the sky was surprised as blood dripped from his lips. He did not expect a weak and pathetic Han Daon to escape that slash.
The man had clearly made Han Daon, the victim and Lee Dong, the pawn. He swapped their power level, and reversed their roles using time influence and hoping to gain more power at Han Daon's death… however, that did not happen.
This kind of power needed timing. It is a one-strike kind of power where the person loses everything if that strike fails— and since Han Daon had made a way out, the man had also lost the chance to enhance his power therefore, receiving a wicked backlash.
Time was restored back and Han Daon's power returned to him.
The man immediately sneered at Lee Dong.
"Shame on you! You had one chance to strike your enemy down and yet you lost that chance. Now death awaits you."
Lee Dong's back ran cold with chills.
"Wait, what?"
Han Daon smiled.
With full intensity, his sword thrust forward, plunging into Lee Dong's chest without meeting any form of resistance at all.
Han Daon watched Lee Dong fall on his knees and then his body falling like a sac to the floor.
His eyes flashed with strange intensity and he stared at the man on the sky—
He noticed the oddity.
His aura had weakened greatly.
There was no atom of divinity on him as it had been earlier and Han Daon immediately understood the severity of the man's situation.
'If I can kill him, I could start building up my soul core without needing the break and pain of attaining a new realm.'
Han Daon stared at the man, eyeing his position enough for the man to be suspicious.
"Whatever you're trying to do, don't even think about it! You wouldn't even know how you died."
Han Daon smiled brightly.
"I know that you've been weakened greatly— for some reason and that you can't even compare to a Void Realm expert, am I right?"
The man's face darkened and he raised his spear and thrust it down with terrifying power and the air distorted…
The force met the ground and actually fragmented it.
Han Daon was speechless then he laughed nervously.
"Maybe a non-Void realm expert can't compare but I'll be the first."
The man's eyes turned icy cold.
"Do not underestimate me. People like you under the first realm are not privileged to grasp the omniscient techniques. Only those who had stepped into the realms can learn these techniques. I have numerous of them… what do you have?"
Han Daon's expression changed but his grip on the double edged sword tightened.
He turned his gaze towards the drifting cubic crystal and he connected his soul to it, drawing it closer to himself.
The man smirked dangerously and whispered.
"Realization and destruction comes from the heart. Let the world end up in an eruption."
What the man had whispered did not escape Han Daon's hearing and his face paled.
He grabbed the cubic crystal and crushed it, completing the ten cycles that makes one ready for the break and pain process.
It is time for a breakthrough.
Han Daon had never experienced the break and pain process before so the starting sensation was actually very overwhelming.
The man suddenly realized what was about to happen and turned to flee; however, Han Daon sneered and summoned the sealing barrier. The eruption caused by the man's technique vanished in an instant, failing to harm Han Daon— another backlash effect!
This sealing barrier is natural to everyone and of course, the barrier is one realm above the owner so technically— this barrier is sturdy like a peak Void Realm expert should be and the man at this moment did not even rival an ordinary Void Realm not to talk of an expert.
The sealing barrier actually sealed the man in, preventing him from escaping until Han Daon is done with his breakthrough.
And then, Han Daon experienced an excruciating pain— the kind that burns away even the humanity in living people. It felt as if his body was being torn, shattered, disintegrated and reformed— tempered. His soul is also coming to shape, the core, manifesting as a round halogen ball— white and pristine.
Han Daon fist clenched tight.
He endured the pain, tears welling his eyelids and could no longer be contained. They streamed down his cheeks.
The agony is not something he had experienced before…
Finally, there was a coolness.
Something soothing, washed down his soul, washed down his body and washing away his pain.
Han Daon's eyes cracked open however, he saw nothing but void.
This is actually the main challenge.
He had heard stories from those that had achieved the void realm that before you step into that rank, you must be in accordance with the void— like a law or something. So Han Daon has always worried about the void realm.
Now, he is about to face that very law.
That law though—
"You must adapt to the void or else you fail the breakthrough."
