Cherreads

Chapter 7 - Oh to be a Man

For to shred my lungs

Atop barren tree branches

Carving my back

And sweating off fake tattoos

I can grin in the tea

And drown in bliss of privilege

While a subtly sobs

In the distance an echo

Oh to be a man

To love as one of them

Soft secrets in my lips

Bruised knuckles and sunburnt hips

Figs swimming in the pit of my stomach

The butterflies are drunk

Off the possibility in a kiss

Oh to be a man

If only I were a man

Oh if only I were a man

Oh to be a man

Oh to be a man
