Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Prologue – Listen to the Dragon’s Roar

Star Luo Empire, Douluo Continent.

A towering palace-like mansion gleamed beneath the setting sun, its golden glazed tiles catching the crimson hues of twilight. The fading sunlight cast a bloody glow over the entire Duke's estate, a scene visible even from the walls of Star Luo City.

At that moment, the back door on the southern side of the estate silently creaked open. A small figure stepped out slowly.

It was a boy who looked no more than eight or nine years old—thin and frail, holding a paper torch in one hand. His short black hair was unkempt, and his pale face carried a lifeless expression far beyond his age.

This boy's name was Huo Yuhao—but not the original Huo Yuhao from The Unrivaled Tang Sect. He was a soul transmigrator from Blue Star, a different world entirely.

In his past life, the girl he loved had offended a group of beasts online—wolves in sheep's clothing. They spread her photos everywhere under the guise of "spilling tea," relentlessly harassed her with phone calls and public shame. Driven by overwhelming pressure from public opinion, the girl could no longer endure the torment. One day, she leapt from a tall building and ended her life.

Those beasts used sophisticated techniques to erase all traces of their abuse, and the case was eventually buried. But every night, Huo Yuhao felt her eyes watching him in the dark—his heart torn apart by guilt and pain.

Over the following months, Huo Yuhao worked under a false identity, painstakingly gathering intelligence on those monsters. Then, like a ghost, he tracked each one down. One by one, he reduced them to dust—avenged her in full. When the last one fell, he surrendered himself to justice.

On the night of his execution, he looked to the sky and laughed maniacally, his blood-filled eyes burning with fury. He roared at the injustice of the world, yet held no regret.

"This world brought pain to me and the one I cherished.

Then I shall make the world feel pain in return!"

"Let those bastards suffer!"

When he next opened his eyes, he found himself in the Duke's estate of the Star Luo Empire—reborn.

The very first thing he experienced in this new world was a brutal kick from a household guard.

Just like in the original novel, the young and powerless Huo Yuhao was no match for the seasoned warriors serving his half-brother, Dai Huabin. Hearing the commotion, his birth mother, Huo Yun'er, rushed from the courtyard and shielded her son with her body, begging and pleading in desperation.

By the time the guards were done, both mother and son lay on the brink of death.

Scenes from this body's original memories flashed vividly in Huo Yuhao's mind.

Huo Yun'er was once the Duke's personal maid, having grown up by his side. In noble society, personal maids often existed solely to serve their masters. One fateful night twelve years ago, Huo Yun'er became pregnant with Huo Yuhao.

Because of the Duke's favor toward her, she had long been the target of jealousy from his legal wife. When the Duke went off to war, his wife banished Huo Yun'er and her child to a firewood shed in the servant quarters, forcing them into a life of hardship.

Over time, the abuse broke Huo Yun'er's health. The lady of the house and her servants frequently tormented her. Eventually, she collapsed from illness, her body too fragile from years of toil.

Although Huo Yuhao was young, his body was more resilient. He survived—but Huo Yun'er succumbed to her wounds and left the world two years later, her heart filled with sorrow and regret.

Huo Yuhao's eyes began to redden as he remembered the unique twin pupils—eyes that marked the bloodline of the Duke's true heirs. And the one who bore those eyes… the Duke's youngest legitimate son, his half-brother—Dai Huabin, the very one who drove his mother to her death.

Fueled by fury, Huo Yuhao spent months preparing. Using his past life's expertise in chemistry, he disguised his intent behind menial cleaning work and secretly planted nearly a ton of explosives throughout the Duke's estate.

"It's finally done."

He trembled with excitement, wiping the sweat from his brow as he let out a cruel, twisted smile.

"Mother, watch over me from the heavens. I'm finally going to begin your revenge."

He lit the paper torch and calmly dropped it to the ground. The exposed fuse caught fire instantly, carrying all the rage and pain of two lifetimes as it raced toward the heart of the Duke's estate—

BOOM—

By the time Huo Yuhao had walked a mile away, a deafening explosion shattered the sky. A massive mushroom cloud erupted from the estate grounds, and the force of the shockwave nearly knocked the frail boy to the ground.

Still, he stood firm, arms spread wide, laughing madly as the wind tore at his body.

"Mother, listen to the dragon's roar!"

"Jie jie jie jie…"

His laughter rang out wildly, so intense that tears burst from his eyes. Laughing and crying at once, he staggered back toward the ruins, his thin robes shredded by the hot wind of the blast.

About ten minutes later, he arrived at the former site of the estate—or rather, the ruins. The luxurious mansion had been reduced to rubble, black smoke rising from shattered towers. Not a trace of its former grandeur remained.

"Mother, I did it… Did you see?!"

Huo Yuhao danced madly before his masterpiece, nearly driven to madness by his triumph.

Just then, several black-robed figures soared through the sky and landed before the smoldering ruins, their faces filled with shock.

"Damn… was that a direct hit from a Level 9 Soul Guidance Cannon?"

The leader of the group stood with his hands behind his back, gazing silently at the wreckage. After a moment, he raised one hand and made a subtle grasping motion toward the air.

Immediately, countless ghostly human figures floated up from the ruins, drawn toward his palm.

"Thousands of vengeful souls… What a rare treasure. Before the authorities arrive—act quickly!"

"Understood!"

The others responded at once, each pulling out strange-looking flags to begin the ritual.

Suddenly, something unexpected happened—the souls, instead of gathering in place, rose on their own, all flying toward a distant direction.

"What? Do we have another of our people nearby?"

The leader froze. Only they had the power to command spirits so freely.

The group exchanged glances and immediately set off toward the soul's destination.

There, at the end of their flight, stood a ragged young boy, laughing madly and dancing. Blood-veined twin pupils in his eyes shone with an eerie light as he devoured the gathering spirits.

The black-cloaked figures, now watching in silence from the shadows, exchanged looks of growing astonishment. Then, under their hoods, their eyes lit up with utter ecstasy.

"Our Holy Son… has descended!"
