She must marry before her 28th birthday—or lose the inheritance that could finally buy her freedom. With just two weeks left, her options are slim… until fate drops Desmond Lawrence into her lap. Her high school nemesis. Her college mystery crush. And now… her only way out. Turns out, Desmond has inheritance strings of his own—and grandmothers who’ve conspired to bring them together. What begins as a marriage of convenience soon becomes a ticking time bomb of secrets, old rivalries, and unresolved tension. What Leilani doesn’t know? Desmond’s had feelings for her for years. What Desmond doesn’t expect? Falling harder now that she’s his wife. Between a power-hungry brother, a jealous half-sister, a conniving stepmother, and truths neither are ready to face, one thing becomes clear: This pact was never about payback. Chapter 1 - Leilani: Airheads

His butt-crack was the problem.

Crooked between two hairy ass cheeks bouncing and squeezing as he pummeled into the folds of a woman whose legs and voice I was sure sounded familiar.

They were doing it in his office, unaware of my presence by the door. My boyfriend of three years everybody, Noah Dickens, the same man who had promised to marry me just yesterday was cheating right before my eyes. I should have been angry, hell I should've cried because this was more than betrayal. It was my heart being torn to pieces. My only hope of freedom was being swatted right before my eyes. But did I cry? No.

I laughed. Cackled so hard they stopped.

Noah flipped around so fast the little whore he was fucking fell face first on the office desk they were having sex on, the same desk he once did an office romance role play with me two months ago on his birthday. Now he's facing me, lubed up dick that'd have sent me shivering excitedly before now making me want to wash my eyes instead. I gag.

"Leilani!" Noah gasps, picking his white shirt from the floor and covering the face of the woman whose lady bits he was gladly pumping into not too long ago, but she tugs it away and turns.

"What the fuck, Noah!" She shrieks.

The moment I see her face I back away. Now it's not just betrayal. It's almost akin to incest. Disgusting! No wonder the voice behind the moans sounded familiar.

"Briana?!" I shriek.

"Hey sis," she smirks at me.

The hell? Did she just "hey sis" me as if I didn't catch her sleeping with my boyfriend two seconds ago? And how can she be smirking like that as if all this is amusing? Then again, this has been her personality since she was born; a cunning fox who enjoys seeing me distraught. I shouldn't be shocked by it.

Unlike Noah who's now dressing up and looking anxious, my sister, no, half-sister looks chill as hell. I think I even spot a little smile curl up her botox-filled "bratz" lips as she bends her now beet red ass—probably from being spanked—and slowly picks her dress from the floor.

Oh, the way my hands itch to smack that smug look off her face instantly.

"Lei, I can explain..." Noah tries but I raise my palm to stop him before he can humor me with his stupid explanations.

What's he going to explain? He knows Briana is my sister. I didn't hide it from him. Shit, they even meet all the time at home when he comes to pick me up for dates, so what's his excuse?

"It was a mistake. I swear on my mother's grave!"

"What the fuck, Noah! You promised to marry me not her," Briana points at me, smiling. Yes, it's a full-on smirk on the plastic face now.

Rage fills my entire body. I want to yell in their faces. To grab Noah by the collar and punch his pretty face till it turns to putty. To ask him what I lacked that my sister has. To ask him why it had to be her. But I can't. Well to be more precise, I shouldn't. Not if I want to keep my peace back home today, or any other day at that. Briana knows it and that's probably why she's enjoying herself right now.

"Leilani?" Noah grabs my shoulder and gives me a little shake, but I smack his hand away, scratching him with my nails before he hisses and glares at me with his blue eyes.

"The hell!" He shrieks, all the pretense now gone.

"It could've been your balls," I hiss at him and his glare falters. Closing my eyes and collecting myself before I lash out at him, I take a deep breath and say the three words I never thought I'd say to him any time soon since he's my only trump card to finally escaping my toxic family and starting life afresh.

"Let's end this."

Silence fills the room for a moment and I open my eyes to see no emotion on Noah's face. Not even surprise.

"Okay," he replies.

That's it.

One word from him manages to set a crippling fire ablaze in the pits of my stomach which threatens to birth an ulcer. Noah pushes past me, all pretense from before now but a memory as he makes his way to Briana's side and hugs her.

"Thought you were lying when you said she'd break up with me at the snap of a finger," he whispers in a husky tone kissing her nose. "I should've known I mean nothing to her."

Briana closes her eyes affectionately and lets him kiss her, running her hands by his jaw affectionately. To think I used to do that and thought I was the only one. I want to ask how long this has been going on for but I'm scared of hearing the answer. Seeing them sleeping together is gross enough. Hearing that Briana and I were sharing a man? That'd end me.

"I told you she's an ice-cold bitch. The final boss," Briana mumbles kissing Noah's chin shamelessly whilst I watch. And you think they'd stop, but no.

"Can't believe you were right. She really was planning on using me as a tool to get rich quick," Noah adds, grabbing Briana's ponytail and gently pulling it. "Well, since she's already seen us why don't we continue where we left off?"

Noah's hand is already on his trousers as he loudly whispers into Briana's ear as if to provoke me. But it's not him that does it. It's Briana's smirk as she grabs Noah's groin through his trousers whilst giving me a provoking side eye that sets me off. Before I know it, I'm gliding in their direction and standing in front of them in an instant, rage simmering under my skin.

"One wrong move from you and Mom will know about it," Briana threatens.

She's trying to look bold but I can see the fear in her dark brown eyes. She's blinking nonstop, her lips trembling a little. It's so satisfying watching her shudder in my presence but before I can enjoy this moment a little longer, Noah places himself between me and Briana, protectively hiding her behind him. To think he used to do this to me every time someone tried checking me out. I scoff.

'And they call me the ice-cold bitch.'

"Get away from her," he snarls to my face, looking way too smug for someone who just got caught cheating.

Little does he know he's right where I want him to be. The shock that replaces the look on his face when I grab both his and Briana's heads by the hair is so satisfying I smirk. I fist my fingers in there and grit my teeth.

"Bri baby, why don't you do me a favor and tell mom big sis smoked a weed blunt today, hmm?" I mumble in a slow icy voice through gritted teeth before summoning all the energy my athletic body can muster and slamming their heads together.

It's fine. They won't die. They're airheads. Their heads are full of air. Shitty fart-filled polluted air.
