Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: The Dreamer’s Path

One month before the main events of Fairy Tail's story, Yume Kai Minato found himself awakening in the guild hall of Magnolia, his mind a swirl of confusion and new sensations. The guild was loud and chaotic, but he slipped out unnoticed, drawn to the quiet of the mountain forests that bordered the city. He needed space—space to understand his new abilities, his new world.

Yume's appearance was striking. His hair was silver and spiky, with bright purple streaks, reminiscent of Kakashi but uniquely his own. One eye was deep red, like a Sharingan without the tomoe, marked by a scar that slashed through his brow; the other was golden, bright and piercing. His body was built for both power and agility—thanks to the instincts and memories of Batman, he was muscular and quick, with the poise of a seasoned fighter and the youthful energy of a man still discovering his limits.

Training in the Mountain Forests

For the first two to three days, Yume stayed deep in the forests, pushing his limits. He summoned his Twin Hounds—one white, one black, both resembling Arcanine. He named them Sky and Sea, for the way they moved: Sky, light and swift; Sea, deep and powerful. They were fiercely loyal, their senses sharp, their speed and strength unmatched.

He called forth Rika, who loomed behind him, a silent, instinctive protector. Unlike the others, Rika needed no summoning—she was always present, much like Star Platinum was to Jotaro.

Yume tested his mimicry, shadowboxing against the trees, replicating the movements of the guild's best fighters. He shaped his Pandora's Darkness Orbs into blades and shields, testing their weight and balance. The orbs were indestructible, their dark surfaces shimmering with potential.

He focused on producing his first new shikigami—Scout Bird. Channeling his magical energy, he created a small, fast bird, its shadowy form flitting through the air. He fought it, subduing it easily, and felt the connection solidify. He named it "Swiftwing." Its appearance was sleek, its feathers edged with shadow, its eyes sharp and intelligent. Yume smiled—it looked like a Pokémon, and he realized his own imagination was shaping his shikigami's forms.

He discovered that he could multiply the number of Swiftwings as much as he wished, but the more he summoned, the more energy it cost. He controlled them as he pleased, sharing his senses with them, seeing through their eyes, hearing through their ears—just like Meimei's curse technique. They were perfect for scouting and surveillance.

For the next three and a half weeks he use jobs for Practical training , Yume took on twelve missions in the mountain forests and the wilds beyond Magnolia—specializing in combat and the hunt of animals, monsters, bandits, and dark mages. He was clean, professional, and effective. Clients began to request him specifically, whispering about the "Silver Shadow" who always got the job done.

He returned to the guild only to collect new missions and to visit the library, speaking mostly to Mirajane for permissions, Levy for books, and Master Makarov on rare occasions. He liked fighting—the thrill of battle, the challenge of a worthy opponent—but he preferred the solitude of the wilds to the chaos of the guild.

He channeled his magical energy to produce new shikigami, each with a unique appearance shaped by his imagination and magical energy. He created Miraidon, a sleek, robotic serpent for fast, zero-budget travel. He fought it, testing its limits, and unlocked it as a permanent summon. He named it "Mirage."

He summoned the original ten shadows, but to truly use them, he had to defeat them in battle. Each victory granted him control, and each shikigami's new form altered their anatomy and physiology, granting them new abilities while retaining their original powers.

Shikigami: New Forms and Abilities

Great Serpent

Now resembling Seviper from Pokémon, its body was armored, its tail ending in a sword-like blade. Its fangs dripped with venom, and it could use its tail for poison attacks or spit poison and acid. He named it "Viperion." It retained its original ability to dig underground and launch surprise attacks, but now its strikes were deadlier, its movements more unpredictable.

Max Elephant

Towering and mammoth-sized, it looked like Great Tusk from Pokémon. Its tusks gleamed with cursed energy, its strength overwhelming. He named it "Tuskus." It retained its ability to spray water, but now its sheer size and power made it a force of nature.

Toad

Massive and amphibious, it could emit sonic screams of different frequencies—from boulder-destroying blasts to sounds so low no one could hear them. It could mimic voices and had surprising speed, agility, and endurance. Its tongue was as powerful and fast as ever, but now it could also use sonic waves to disorient enemies. He named it "Croakus."

Nue

Electricity crackled around its massive, Corviknight-like form, its mask forged from black steel. He named it "Stormwing." It retained its lightning-based attacks but could now use its wings to create gusts of wind and its mask to deflect attacks.

Twin Hounds (Sky and Sea)

One white, one black, both resembling Arcanine. They were fiercely loyal, their senses sharp, their speed and strength unmatched. They could track anything, their shadows blending into the night.

Scout Bird (Swiftwing)

Could multiply endlessly, with each new bird costing more energy. Yume could see and hear through them, controlling them as extensions of himself. They were perfect for reconnaissance and surveillance.

All his shikigami were loyal to him and him alone, obeying his every command. In the future, he would be able to command them by thought alone, and they would protect him on instinct—though, unlike Rika, they needed to be summoned first.

A Funny Scene happened with the Shikigami's.

One afternoon, deep in the forest, Yume decided to test his shikigami's new abilities in a playful spar. He summoned them all—Sky and Sea, Viperion, Tuskus, Croakus, Stormwing, Mirage, and a flock of Swiftwings.

Viperion slithered around a tree, its tail flicking playfully. Tuskus trumpeted, its massive feet shaking the ground. Croakus croaked, then let out a low-frequency hum that made the leaves tremble. Stormwing swooped down, its wings stirring up a gust of wind, while Sky and Sea chased each other in circles.

Yume laughed as Croakus suddenly mimicked Mirajane's voice, calling out, "Yume, dinner's ready!" The Swiftwings chirped in unison, their tiny voices forming a chorus. Tuskus, startled by Croakus's voice, nearly uprooted a tree with its trunk, sending the birds scattering. Viperion, ever the opportunist, used the confusion to launch a surprise attack on Yume, only to be intercepted by Sky and Sea.

The forest echoed with laughter and the sounds of playful combat. For a moment, Yume forgot about missions and training, simply enjoying the company of his strange, loyal companions.

Shikigami Fusion and Control

Yume learned that he could only fuse a destroyed shikigami to another that was still intact. After a shikigami returned from destruction, any fusion would be undone. He needed to destroy one to add its power to another—a risky but powerful strategy. The shikigami, once summoned, were bound to him by magical contract and would never betray him, always following his orders and protecting him instinctively.

Using Darkness and Shadows in Combat

Yume trained to use the darkness and shadows provided by his upgraded Darkbound Legion, merging them with his Pandora's Darkness Orbs to create weapons and traps. He could form blades from shadows, shields from darkness, and even whips or chains—all wielded with the skill and experience of Batman.

In battle, he combined his mimicry, Batman's instincts, and his shikigami's abilities to adapt to any situation. He moved with stealth, striking from the shadows, using his orbs to enhance his attacks and defenses. His combat style was versatile and lethal, blending magic, martial arts, and strategy into a seamless whole.

Levy McGarden watched him from across the guild hall, her blue hair framing her face as she pored over ancient tomes. She found herself lingering near the library, stealing glances at Yume as he trained or returned from missions. She admired his quiet confidence, his mysterious aura, and the way he moved—like a shadow, always in control.

Whenever she thought of him, her mind drifted back to the day he had saved her from a falling bookshelf. She had been reaching for a heavy tome on the top shelf when the entire case began to tip. Before she could react, Yume was there—moving faster than she had ever seen anyone move, catching the shelf with one hand and pulling her to safety with the other. He had simply nodded, asked if she was okay, and then vanished back into the guild's chaos before she could even thank him properly.

That moment had stayed with her. Now, every time she saw him, her heart fluttered, and she found herself searching for excuses to talk to him.

But Yume, focused on his training and missions, remained oblivious to her feelings. He only spoke to her to ask about specific books—rare tomes on magic theory, ancient runes, or shadow manipulation. He wanted to understand magic more deeply, to learn something new, and Levy was always happy to help.

Their interactions were brief but meaningful. Yume appreciated her knowledge and her kindness, but his mind was elsewhere—on the next mission, the next challenge, the next step in his journey.

Fairy tail guild:

The guild was quiet in the early morning, sunlight filtering through the windows and only a few members scattered about, Yume approached Mirajane. "I'd like to take the Vulcan mission," he said.

She looked up, surprised. "That's a tough one. Are you sure you're ready?"

He nodded. "I am."

She handed him the request. "Good luck, Yume. Be careful out there."

He gave her a nod. "I will."

Levy, as if on cue, appeared from the library, holding a thick, leather-bound book. She smiled brightly, her cheeks already tinged pink at the thought of helping him.

"I found that book on shadow magic you asked for," Levy said, her voice cheerful but a little breathless. She held it out to him, her fingers brushing his as he took it.

Yume looked down at the book, then at Levy, and for the first time in weeks, he smiled—a small, genuine expression that softened his features. "Thanks, Levy," he said, his voice warm.

Levy blinked, her blush deepening. "Y-you're welcome!" she stammered, her heart fluttering as she watched him tuck the book into his bag.

Mirajane, standing behind the counter, watched the exchange with a knowing grin. She noticed the way Yume's smile lit up his face, and for a moment, she thought, He's actually pretty cute. The thought made her giggle, and she covered her mouth with her hand, eyes sparkling.

Yume, oblivious to their reactions, nodded to both of them and turned to leave the guild, his mind already on the Vulcan mission ahead.

As the guild doors swung shut behind Yume, the lively chatter of Fairy Tail resumed. Levy, still standing by the counter, stared at the spot where Yume had disappeared, her cheeks flushed and her fingers fidgeting with the hem of her dress.

Mirajane leaned over the counter, resting her chin on her hand, a mischievous grin spreading across her face. "Well, well," she said, her voice playful, "looks like someone's got a little crush on our mysterious newcomer."

Levy's head whipped around, her blush deepening to a shade of crimson. "Mira! I-I don't know what you're talking about!"

Mirajane giggled, her blue eyes sparkling with amusement. "Oh, come on, Levy. I saw the way you looked at him. And that blush? It's obvious!"

Levy buried her face in her hands, her voice muffled. "I just… I just wanted to help him find the book. That's all!"

Mirajane's grin widened. "Sure, sure. But you didn't have to blush every time someone says 'thank you.'" She leaned in closer, her tone conspiratorial. "And that smile he gave you? That's the first time I've seen him look anything but serious. He's actually pretty cute, isn't he?"

Levy peeked between her fingers, her heart hammering in her chest. "He is," she admitted, her voice so quiet it was almost a whisper. Then, realizing what she'd said, she groaned and hid her face again.

Mirajane laughed, delighted. "You're adorable, Levy. I had no idea you were into that type—strong, quiet, mysterious. Not bad taste at all."

Levy groaned again, but a small smile tugged at her lips. "It's not like that," she insisted weakly, though she knew she wasn't fooling anyone.

Mirajane sighed, her expression softening. "You know, some of the others think he's a bit intimidating, always training and keeping to himself. But I think he's just focused. And, well… easy on the eyes."

Levy finally lowered her hands, her blush fading to a rosy glow. "He's different, that's all. He's not like the others."."

Mirajane's grin widened. "I'm just saying, if you wanted to go on a mission with him, I'm sure I could arrange it. Maybe even a two-person job. Somewhere romantic, like the mountains at sunset…"

Levy's hands flew up in protest. "Mira! That's not—I'm not—we're just friends!"

Mirajane winked. "Friends who blush every time they see each other, sure. I get it. Totally platonic."

Levy groaned again, but Mirajane just laughed, her teasing gentle and good-natured. The guild filled with the sound of her laughter, and Levy couldn't help but smile, shaking her head as she turned back toward the library—her cheeks still pink, and her heart just a little lighter

As Levy turned to return to the library, Mirajane watched her go, a fond smile on her face.

She glanced once more at the guild doors, where Yume had disappeared, and thought again, He really is kind of cute.

The Ice Mountain: Vulcan Hunt

The Ice Mountain loomed in the distance, its slopes glittering with frost and snow. The air was biting cold, the wind sharp as a blade. Yume moved silently, Sky and Sea at his side, their breath steaming in the frigid air. He summoned Rika, who loomed behind him, her presence a silent, instinctive force. He called forth his Pandora's Darkness Orbs, shaping them into a blade and shield, the dark surfaces shimmering with energy.

He sent his Swiftwings ahead, multiplying them to a dozen, their senses merging with his, their shadows flitting through the trees, scouting for danger. He used his Batman instincts, analyzing the terrain, planning his approach. He moved with stealth, his footsteps silent, his presence undetected.

He spotted the Vulcans—twenty massive, ape-like creatures, their upper bodies rippling with muscle, their eyes glinting with aggression. They were strong, their attacks wild and powerful, but Yume was faster, more agile.

He struck first, his blade flashing as he darted from the shadows. The Vulcans roared, charging at him with fists raised. Yume dodged, rolling beneath a swing, his hounds leaping to intercept, their powerful jaws clamping down on Vulcan arms. Rika struck with brutal force, her energy pulsing with each blow, sending one Vulcan crashing into the snow.

Yume used his Pandora's Darkness Orbs, shaping them into traps and barriers, blocking the creatures' paths. He called forth Stormwing, the massive Corviknight-like shikigami, its black steel mask gleaming as it swooped down, its wings buffeting the Vulcans, knocking them off balance. Croakus appeared, its massive form crushing obstacles, its sonic scream blasting a group of Vulcans off their feet. Viperion coiled around a Vulcan, its armored body glistening, its sword-like tail lashing out, its venomous fangs dripping poison. Tuskus charged, its mammoth-sized body shattering ice and rock, its strength overwhelming.

Yume moved with a quiet confidence, his every action deliberate and controlled. He used his mimicry, replicating the movements of the guild's best fighters, blending them with his own instincts. He wielded darkness and shadows, merging them with his Pandora's Orbs to create weapons and traps—blades of shadow, chains of darkness, shields of pure night.

His combat was fast, precise, clean, and brutal—executed with the elegance of Batman's training. He analyzed his opponents with mimicry, learning from their moves, adapting on the fly. He fought with the efficiency of a master, dispatching each Vulcan with ruthless efficiency.

The battle was intense, the mountain echoing with the sounds of combat. Yume dodged, parried, and countered, his blade flashing, his orbs shifting from shield to spear to whip. He used his Batman instincts to analyze the Vulcans' patterns, predicting their moves, striking with precision.

One by one, the Vulcans fell, their roars fading into silence. When the dust settled, Yume stood victorious, the last Vulcan collapsing at his feet. He exhaled, feeling the rush of victory, the thrill of battle.

Yume walked back to the guild, his mind clear, his powers stronger than ever.

At the guild, Mirajane greeted him with a knowing smile. "You look like you had a good hunt," she said.

Yume nodded. "It was a challenge. But I learned a lot."

Levy caught his eye from across the room, her cheeks tinged pink. She waved, her smile shy and hopeful. Yume waved back, his own smile small but genuine.

He didn't notice her crush, but he appreciated her help. He looked forward to reading the new book on shadow magic, to learning something new, to the next mission, the next fight.

The shadows around him stirred, restless and eager. The world was full of possibilities, and Yume Kai Minato was ready to face them all.He was the Silver Shadow, the dreamer of the sea harbor, and the world was his to explore.
