Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: The Fugitive

Zhang Ding Tian was momentarily stunned, then said, "He is Chu Shan's friend, and also a Heaven-level expert."

Diector Lian exclaimed in surprise, "Heaven-level? An Earthling?"

Lu Yin nodded.

Diector Lian was even more astonished, "I didn't expect that besides you seven and the Indian Ascetic Monk, there's someone else who could reach the Heaven-level at this time. It's incredible, young man, how did you do it?"

Lu Yin calmly replied with two words, "Talent."

Director Lian accepted this, as if there was no other explanation.

"Director, what exactly happened?" Bai Xue asked.

Director Lian sighed, "The Institute of Technology was breached, and all information was taken by that alien kid."

"What information did he get? It seems like the Institute of Technology doesn't have any information he would care about," Zhang Ding Tian wondered.

Directorn Lian shook his head, frowning, "I don't know either. He connected that thing on his wrist to the Institute of Technology's quantum computer, and soon after, he became ecstatic."

"A Personal Connection Device," Bai Xue said solemnly. "This is alien technology, far surpassing Earth's. Perhaps he was able to decipher information that the Institute of Technology couldn't. No wonder he wanted to destroy the Institute of Technology; it seems he didn't want us to know."

"No, I destroyed the Institute of Technology," Director Lian stated.

Everyone was surprised.

Director Lian smiled bitterly, "As soon as that person entered, he killed all the researchers and searched for the quantum computer. I had to destroy the Institute of Technology, otherwise, the underground would be exposed. Plus, this was the only way to notify you to come."

Lu Yin admired him. The old man was truly brave, not afraid of burying himself.

Zhang Ding Tian frowned, "The Institute of Technology was destroyed, all information burned. We can't even find them to seek revenge."

Director Lian shook his head, "Who said the information is gone? If destroying the Institute of Technology meant the information would be gone, what would be the point of me being the dean?" He then opened the underground access in front of Zhang Ding Tian and the others. "All information from the Institute of Technology is backed up underground. You should have alien technology, right? Try it; maybe you can analyze something."

Zhang Ding Tian, Bai Xue, and Lu Yin immediately went down.

Before long, everyone looked at the light screen projected by the Personal Connection Device, their faces shaken.

What was displayed on the screen was the big explosion from over half a year ago. On the Institute of Technology's screen, that explosion wasn't particularly special; everything was destroyed. But under the analysis of the Personal Connection Device, a black shadow shot towards the West during the explosion, vanishing in an instant. This scene, except for the Personal Connection Device, Earth's technology couldn't analyze at all because the black shadow's speed was too fast.

Zhang Ding Tian and Bai Xue looked solemn.

Director Lian was shocked, "What is this black shadow? A person?"

Lu Yin calmly said, "More than half a year ago, I remember the Seven Saints hadn't reached the Heaven-level yet. This speed is comparable to a Heaven-level. If I'm not mistaken, it should be that corpse. Only that corpse in that place could possibly do this."

Dean Liên was surprised, "You mean, that wasn't a corpse at all, that person isn't dead?"

Lu Yin nodded. "Using energy to cover oneself, making all bodily functions cease, is no different from death. It's normal for Earth's technology not to be able to distinguish it. It seems correct, this corpse is the fugitive from the trial mission."

Everyone was silent, staring at the light screen.

Lu Yin looked at Director Lian. "Then, may I ask, why did you transfer that corpse in the first place? Chu Shan told me it was because some substance couldn't be controlled."

Director Lian glanced at Zhang Ding Tian and Bai Xue and said, "We analyzed that there was a strange substance on that corpse. Once this substance erupted, the consequences would be immeasurable. We truly couldn't control it and had to transfer it."

"At that time, Number One was worried that the substance would erupt during the transfer, so he dispersed the seven of us to guard against any unforeseen circumstances. Unexpectedly, it truly came to pass; the apocalypse arrived. Fortunately, the seven of us guarded one area, which allowed us to protect the survivors," Bai Xue said in a deep voice.

Lu Yin sighed, "Number One, truly a great person. If he had let the seven of you protect him back then, he might not have died."

Dean Liên sighed, "There was no other way; no one expected it to be like this. Now it seems that the culprit behind everything is that corpse. He triggered the explosion and created the apocalypse."

Lu Yin frowned, feeling something was off. Why would that corpse create the apocalypse? The apocalypse, for Earth, is evolution. Isn't he afraid of attracting the Grand Yu Empire?

"When we studied the corpse earlier, our Institute of Technology implanted a Nano tracking device in his skin tissue. I'll see if I can find his location information," Director Lian said, constantly manipulating the quantum computer. After a moment, he opened the world map and said joyfully, "Found it! The last place the tracking signal disappeared is here."

Everyone looked: "Europe, the Mediterranean Sea."

"That alien student wanted to go to the Mediterranean Sea in the West," Zhang Ding Tian said in a deep voice.

"Should we go?" Bai Xue asked.

Zhang Ding Tian stared at the screen, "No."

Lu Yin calmly said, "That corpse was once a powerful being who traversed the Starry Sky. Even though he's severely injured and dying now, he definitely has life-saving abilities. It's too dangerous for us to go."

Director Lian said, "Don't worry, if those alien students couldn't catch him, he'll definitely come back."

Lu Yin looked at Director Lian in confusion.

Director Lian said, "His things are at the Institute of Technology; he'll never give up on them."

"What things?" Lu Yin asked. When that corpse was brought back to Earth, no one knew what else was brought back with it, only that there was a battle blade.

Director Lian was about to speak but was stopped by Bai Xue. "This is a national secret; it cannot be revealed."

Lu Yin found it funny. "The apocalypse has already descended. The highest administrators of the nation are you Seven Saints. What secrets are left?"

Bai Xue stared at Lu Yin. "We don't know your origin. Who knows if you're an alien student?"

"Chu Shan can vouch for me. I was at the Training Camp before the trial students arrived," Lu Yin said with a frown.

Bai Xue's lips curled into a beautiful arc. "I remember those students saying that Earth, under the supervision of the Grand Yu Empire, had already entered the 'no entry' phase early on."

"You're being unreasonable; you can say anything you want," Lu Yin was annoyed. This woman seemed to always be against him. He heard she had something going on with Liu Shaoge; she hadn't been beaten in a while.

Bai Xue calmly said, "I'm just speaking the truth."

"I have to tell you, those students just now were only the first batch of trial participants. The second batch of trial participants is about to arrive, and there will definitely be enemies you can't handle. I can help you, don't ignore good intentions," Lu Yin said.

Bai Xue snorted, "If you are an Earthling, you should help us. Otherwise, you're a traitor. If you're not an Earthling, there's no use in us begging you."

Lu Yin gritted his teeth. This woman's analysis was quite reasonable.

Zhang Ding Tian looked at Lu Yin and said in a deep voice, "Your identity is unclear. Chu Shan can only represent himself. If you want to understand national secrets, it requires a vote of the Seven Saints."

Lu Yin waved his hand. "Alright, communication is already cut off now. Where would we go to vote? Besides, this woman's appeal shouldn't be bad. Voting would only put me at a disadvantage." With that, he left directly.

Zhang Ding Tian watched Lu Yin's retreating figure, lost in thought.

Bai Xue said, "This person's strength is very strong, it's baffling. Besides us seven and the few foreigners who previously accepted inheritances with the nation's compromise, how could anyone have broken through to the Heaven-level at that time?"

"It's not impossible. The Indian Ascetic Monk was the first person to break through to the Heaven-level without accepting an inheritance. He can only be considered the second," Zhang Ding Tian said.

Bai Xue nodded. She wasn't targeting Lu Yin, but she genuinely felt Lu Yin was suspicious; his strength was a bit strange. Moreover, he was a bit greedy. She felt uncomfortable recalling how Lu Yin openly snatched the two alien students' Spatial Rings in front of her.

The Road Ahead

Coming out of the underground, Lu Yin's expression was solemn. Currently, Earth was plunged into an apocalypse, alien students were acting recklessly, and there was an unknown-strength fugitive hiding. Furthermore, the second batch of trial participants was about to arrive, making Earth increasingly chaotic. His own strength was still increasing a bit slowly.

The Grand Yu Empire is just one empire within the Shang Lan territory. There are countless territories in outer space, giving birth to numerous geniuses. He couldn't even make it as an ordinary academy student in the Grandq Yu Empire, let alone the top-tier academy, Wu Tang, or the thirteen young powerhouses from the imperial family. He needed to speed up his progress.

"Granny, come here!" Lu Yin shouted.

From afar, Granny walked over. "What is it?"

"Release the news. The fugitive is in the Mediterranean Sea, Europe, on Earth," Lu Yin calmly said.

Granny was startled. "Really?"

Lu Yin nodded. "Go."

Granny frowned. "If you already know, why don't you go yourself?"

"Just do what I tell you; why so many questions?" Lu Yin said impatiently.

Granny was annoyed. She opened her Personal Connection Device and sent the news to the Starry Sky Network.
