"Poseidon, despite his arrogance, did not flinch before Crius, the God of Growth. He delayed this Titan God at the cost of a portion of his law being eroded. He made such a great sacrifice, but if you say that so-called equality would make him give up the dignity of being one of the Twelve Main Gods, do you find that ridiculous?" The aura of power appeared in Zeus's hand.
This power, on the surface, looked so beautiful, like the light of the world's salvation, yet Mobius felt a sickening taste within it.
It was full of charm, yet also repulsive.
"This is the divine authority of power." Zeus clearly displayed this power before Mobius. "The divine authority of power is an appendage of the God King, naturally a part of the God King."
"If I were to equally distribute this power to all Source Gods, that would be the greatest injustice!" Zeus retracted the power of authority. "Poseidon gained control of the world's authority through his own strength; he gained this glory through his own strength. Would he be willing to share this joy with others who had no part in it? Mobius!" Zeus asked.
Mobius lowered his head in silence.
"Would he share this joy with Source Gods who are weak and cowardly!" Zeus's voice boomed like thunder, shouting loudly, "No, that's impossible!"
"Lord Mobius, do you know why you are standing here? Lord Mobius." Zeus's voice slowly rose. "Lord Mobius, truly, an existence born a few hundred years ago has already made me treat him as an equal. It took me thousands of years to gain my mother's approval and enhance my own power."
Hera was silent; she knew the reason, but she had no choice.
"Because you are my child, Mobius, you are my! The child of God King Zeus!" Zeus clenched the thunder in his hand tightly. "If you were merely a Source God born of heaven and earth, would you be standing here?"
"No, you would only remain on the earth, waiting to return to your origin, waiting to be abducted by other gods."
"Of course, before that, I would have other gods search for you and bring you to Olympus, but that would be all." Zeus said softly, "Source Gods are precious, but apart from those gods in Tartarus, there are still over ten thousand Source Gods remaining in the world!"
"We are the ruling class; we rule over other ordinary gods, who in turn rule over River Gods and Nymphs of mountain springs, and they in turn rule over the lower-ranked Nymphs and Daimons, and even lower-ranked humans, and even lower-ranked animals and plants."
"But even within the ruling class, there are hierarchies, just like between Hera and me. I am the God King, and God Queen Hera shares half of my authority, but Hera's status is still below mine and above the other 12 Main Gods. Do you think this is fair?"
Mobius said indifferently, "I don't know, but I believe power is the most important thing."
Yes, not knowing already speaks volumes...
"You are a beneficiary; of course, you would say you don't know. You have the luxury of silence, but what about the Daimons who are ruled? What about the Nymphs who are ruled?" Zeus sneered, "They would say how disgusting, how nauseating this is, the hypocritical and sanctimonious appearance makes them dissatisfied, yet they still diligently serve and attend to us!"
"Do you know what the prevailing sentiment on earth is?" Zeus's Hawkeye stared at Mobius, saying, "The gods who are always reveling on Olympus ignore all things in the world; they only indulge in pleasure."
"But we have fulfilled our duties. I fill the world with thunder, Hera diligently maintains marital relationships on earth, Poseidon brings tsunamis and storms to the ocean! You heal the lives on earth." Zeus said calmly, "So do you know why Lord Eros is a born Original God?"
"He controls the desires of human hearts and the desires of the world, using desire to drive the world's development. Lord Eros exists in the minds of every god in the world; his power is omnipresent, which is why it is so difficult for this Lord to revive." Zeus interjected an aside.
"We are Source Gods. Are we to do this next, to give our status to them? To share our glory with Daimons? What a ridiculous idea. If that were truly the case, then gods would cease to exist, and the order of the world would change." For the first time, coldness appeared in Zeus's deeply blue eyes.
"Order is the beginning of rule. To have order, there must be a hierarchy, with some as rulers and some as the ruled. This is an unchanging law of the world; it is the manifestation of power." Zeus spread his arms, and the thunder in his hands shone brightly. "My thunder is my symbol. When the gods see thunder, they know reverence; this is the power of authority."
"And the guarantee of authority is power, Mobius! How ridiculous that you would abandon the opportunity to gain power for the sake of some humans!"
At this moment, a tall, muscular man walked from behind, with a resolute and wise face, and deep eyes filled with determination and courage, as if he could perceive all things in the world.
Mobius now understood and said, "Your Highness Zeus, are you educating me? Do you want me to recognize my place?"
"Yes, I am educating you, my child. You are too naive. Hera says you are very arrogant, but I think you are too naive. I heard your conversation with Ares." Zeus sat on the wisteria divine throne. "Ares said he would exchange a war covering all humanity for one of your divine authorities."
"You refused, preferring instead to gain this power through time-consuming and laborious publicizing methods. Don't you think that's too much of a waste of time?" Zeus said softly.
Zeus said indifferently, "Humans are merely weeds, just toys we created. As the God of Healing, you can create such toys at any time. Don't you find it ridiculous that you would sacrifice your progress for the sake of these toys?"
"It's like a human saying he wants to marry a chicken, treating a chicken as his lover, and swearing an oath with this chicken to be together forever, marrying no other. And when it dies, he commits suicide for it."
"Don't you find this absurd and ironic? Such a thing is enough once." Zeus stared at Mobius and said indifferently.
