Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Progress

Days went by like this. In the blink of an eye, more than half a year had passed since Ren and the others entered the Ninja Academy. After the New Year, Ren and TenTen were also a year older, both turning seven. The winter vacation had unknowingly passed for the most part, and the school term was approaching.

During this half year, great changes had occurred in Ren, TenTen, and Rock Lee. Of the three, of course, Ren's strength improved the fastest. The weights on his legs now had grown from 30 pounds to an astonishing 100 pounds! This was almost the weight of an adult girl. Such a weight, appearing on a seven-year-old, was terrifying. If anyone heard it, no one would believe it.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A series of explosions came from a distance. In the Konoha training ground, Rock Lee couldn't help but stop his training, looking in the direction of the training ground where Ren was located.

"Ren's strength... how far has it come now?" Rock Lee asked curiously, addressing TenTen, who was sitting on a training stake beside him, her feet dangling in the air.

"You guess?" TenTen's eyes curved in a sly, mysterious smile. "Apart from Teacher Guy, I'm afraid no one knows my brother's strength now."

At this time, in the training ground next door, Ren was receiving personal guidance from Might Guy.

"Ren, are you ready?" Might Guy asked in a deep voice.

"Ready," Ren nodded heavily.

"Then let's get started!"

"Yes, Teacher Guy!"

It was getting dark. A spring breeze blew leisurely, lifting Ren's long black hair and scattering it in the air. Ren narrowed his eyes, his gaze locked on a training stake twenty meters in front of him.

The next second, he had already rushed out like an arrow from a bow! From static to dynamic, the transformation was incredibly smooth, without the slightest pause. In an instant, Ren's entire body's muscles swelled up. His heart accelerated directly to its limit, and blue-purple blood vessels bulged like earthworms on his forehead. Anyone who didn't know would think he was about to roll his eyes.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Ren's footsteps were as heavy as rock. The ground could be seen, to the naked eye, cracking inch by inch as he stepped forward. Ren jumped and kicked out his right leg, the spine of his back twisting like a living dragon, winding up and down, turning his previous momentum into an extremely terrifying force. His legs were like whips, as sharp as lightning, as he slammed into the stake.

"The Konoha Whirlwind!"

Boom!!

The stake exploded on the spot. With a crackling sound, sawdust of different sizes sprayed outwards and shattered into several pieces. What was even more terrifying was that inside the stake, as if it had suffered a violent explosion, dense cracks spread from the center of the stake in all directions!

Quite a terrifying taijutsu attack! It was conceivable that if this blow landed on a person, the capillaries in their body would shatter, and all their internal organs would immediately be displaced. If this kick could hit a human skull, it would be enough to kill someone instantly!

Clap! Clap! Clap!

Might Guy's applause sounded from the side. He was extremely satisfied with Ren's performance. In just half a year of training with him, Ren's strength had improved to this level. He was now able to perfectly display the taijutsu level of "Konoha Whirlwind." As Ren's teacher, Might Guy couldn't help but feel proud.

"Ren, your performance just now was truly great! I originally thought that at your age, you would have to train for at least two more years before you could master Konoha Whirlwind. Unexpectedly, it only took you half a year to learn the essence of this exercise! It is beyond my expectations!" Might Guy praised Ren without hesitation.

"It's all thanks to Teacher Guy, you taught me," Ren smiled and sincerely thanked him. Immediately, he went on to ask, "By the way, Teacher Guy, can I start practicing the Great Konoha Whirlwind move now?"

Konoha Whirlwind and Great Konoha Whirlwind. Although there was only one word different in their names, in the taijutsu power system, they represented two completely different levels. Compared with the Konoha Whirlwind, the Great Konoha Whirlwind required greatly increased physical fitness and muscle strength from the practitioner. The lethality displayed was, of course, stronger; it was a powerful taijutsu comparable to Tsunade's "Strange Strength" level! An absolute B-rank lethal taijutsu!

"Don't worry, Ren, youth cannot be impatient." This time, Might Guy shook his head and rejected Ren's proposal. He patiently explained, "The Great Konoha Whirlwind is very demanding on physical strength. At least, your body needs to be strong enough to bear a load of more than 200 pounds before it can be practiced."

"I have carefully studied the growth experience and physical training data of many ninjas. According to my calculations, the weight limit that a seven-year-old child can bear is only 150 pounds. If this data is exceeded, high-intensity, high-pressure physical training will cause irreparable damage to your body bones. So, in terms of physical training, you must remember not to be hasty. It can affect your own physical growth."

When talking about taijutsu, Might Guy's face completely lost its usual carefree and somewhat eccentric appearance. On the contrary, he was extremely serious, and there was absolute authority in his words, which made people feel convinced. Might Guy was the absolute master of taijutsu. His research in taijutsu was even stronger than that of his father, Might Duy. Because of this, he could rely on his own powerful strength to step into the ranks of elite Jōnin. Having such a teacher to guide him in the practice of taijutsu was definitely a blessing.

"Teacher Guy, what should I do next?"

Might Guy said with a smile, "For the next period of time, you can relax a little in taijutsu training and return to the most basic physical training."

"In the next year, you need to increase your weight to 150 pounds. Then when you are eight years old, increase your weight to 200 pounds. After laying that foundation, I will teach you the Great Konoha Whirlwind technique."

"I understand, Teacher Guy," Ren nodded. During this half year, he had put most of his training focus on taijutsu, but the practice of forging weapons had somewhat been put on hold. One of the most important reasons was that the stocks of the specific types of ores he needed to use in Ren's house had all been squandered by him. Without raw materials, Ren couldn't forge. Fortunately, Ren's parents had already sent news two days ago; they would soon be able to finish their business and return from the Land of Iron with a very large cargo!
