Chapter 89 - Balance

Jaina had originally planned to call Aiden and the others for dinner, but when she arrived, she found Kayle guarding the area, preventing anyone from approaching. Aiden, on the other hand, was sitting on the ground with his eyes closed, as if asleep.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"He is in a state of comprehension, needing some uninterrupted time."

Jaina seemed to understand. She knew from books that some people do get a chance for a kind of epiphany, thereby resolving long-standing doubts and finding new answers, like parting the clouds and suddenly understanding. This is an extremely rare opportunity, one that many may never get in their lifetime.

So, after a quick meal, she and Uther, who had heard the news and arrived, stood guard beside him, warning the guards not to disturb him.

Uther took one look and exclaimed, "There's a very strong fluctuation of Holy Light—it seems Aiden is calling upon the Holy Light?"

"Perhaps," Jaina replied. "I can also feel some magical fluctuations."

Aiden had indeed entered a magical state—when he thought of Med'an, the mist that had shrouded him instantly dissipated. He strongly felt that he had found the "path of the hero" that Zilean had spoken of.

Aiden wanted to immediately verify his idea, so he entered meditation, trying to enter the state of astral projection he had experienced before.

He didn't know how long had passed, but he finally felt the shock of stepping on empty stairs, and then his soul broke free from the shackles of his body and appeared outside.

"First, the power of nature," he recalled the feeling of using natural magic when his Cenarius mark was still present.

After a long while, a ball of green energy, filled with a strong life aura, appeared on his right hand—on the right hand of his soul form.

Aiden tried to manipulate this energy of life, targeting a pale yellow flower that had been trampled by horses. Under the healing power of nature, the broken stem of the flower regained its upright position, the shattered leaves unfolded again, and the withered flower buds rebloomed, turning into a delicate little flower.

"Thank you, thank you," Aiden heard the flower whisper, revealing a satisfied smile.

"Next is the Holy Light," he turned his gaze to the yellowed grass under the shade of the trees, which was not getting enough sunlight.

Using the Holy Light was much easier than re-summoning the power of nature. He summoned a ray of light with a wave of his hand. The soft light flowed freely under the shadows of the trees, where the sunlight was blocked. The originally wilted grass almost immediately unfolded its curled leaves, greedily absorbing the sunlight and growing vigorously, spreading into a large patch of green grass near the roots of the trees.

"So happy, so happy," he heard the cheers of the grass.

"Finally, time."

Aiden waved his hand. Under the influence of accelerated time, the surrounding vegetation grew wildly. The saplings became as thick as arms in the blink of an eye, and vines climbed up the treetops like snakes. On the lush green grass, all kinds of flowers that were not supposed to bloom in this season were in full bloom, competing for beauty.

He heard countless cheers in his ears, the anthem of the forest.

These visions were not just imagined; in fact, these things were happening around his body.

Jaina watched this scene in shock, her mouth open and unable to close.

The three heroes had to retreat a little because the place where they were standing was within the range of these magical effects. Aiden's body was already surrounded by the newly grown forest.

Aiden's soul happily watched all of this. The anthem of the forest turned into a symphony of nature, making him feel extremely satisfied—

Sunlight, life, and time.

"This is my path."

Now he felt that the three distinct forces in his body were merging with each other, influencing each other, and building a perfect balance. Aiden didn't know if anyone had done it before, but he had done it now!

His soul returned to his body, he opened his eyes, and found himself in a lush forest.

"Where, where is this?"

"Kayle, are you there?"

… …

After Aedelas Blackmoore sent Danath Trollbane to Silvermoon City, Ranger-General Sylvanas Windrunner learned that this was a volunteer army of rangers from Stratholme, and took on the task of sending them to the royal court.

"How is Vereesa?" Sylvanas had not seen her sister for some time, and she asked with concern, "Have you been fighting?"

Danath replied, "General, Vereesa went to Northrend with the people of the Alliance to ask the Red Dragon Queen for essence of life to make a potion to fight the plague. We are now stationed in Stratholme. I heard that there was a battle at the Darrowmere a while ago, but we didn't participate."

"She went to Northrend again? Looking for the Red Dragon?" Sylvanas was a little helpless. Her little sister was really busy, and she had gone to the icy world of the Arctic. "What's so good about those beasts, really."

Most high elves had no good feelings for the Red Dragons. Just like Admiral Daelin Proudmoore lost his son in a naval battle because of the Red Dragon's dragon breath, the Red Dragons burned down large areas of Quel'Thalas's forests in the last war and slaughtered many of their relatives and siblings.

Even though Sylvanas knew that her sister Vereesa had saved the Red Dragon Queen before, she didn't like the Red Dragon clan.

Sylvanas asked, "So what are you here for this time? His Majesty is a little dissatisfied with humans now. If you don't have sufficient reasons, I'm afraid it won't be easy to see him."

Danath replied, "We heard some bad rumors in Stratholme—Aedelas told me, High Councilor Dar'Khan Drathir passed away?"

"Yes, not long after you left. He died in a magical experiment. What a pity," Sylvanas sighed.

After Danath received her confirmation, he felt a little heavy in his heart. Dar'Khan was undoubtedly a respected hero and elder. In fact, not long after Dar'Khan died, the elves of Stratholme received the news, but not long ago, when the results of the Battle of Darrowmere came out, they heard even more incredible rumors: a powerful elven mage appeared in that battle, and he rescued the remnants of the Scourge.

And some people speculated that this elven mage was Dar'Khan Drathir!

The elves of the Silver Covenant volunteer army were certainly unwilling to believe this news, but this time the Alliance specially sent Aiden and Uther, two heavyweight envoys, to specifically warn them, and they had to consider the truth of this news.

If that was true, it would be terrible!

"Alright, give me the letter and I'll go in and forward it to His Majesty the King."

Danath took out the documents and letters that Uther gave him, handed them to Sylvanas, and then the Ranger-General entered the palace, leaving him to wait for an audience.

King Anastarian Sunstrider of Quel'Thalas was a little unhappy when he learned that envoys from the Alliance had arrived. He was even more unhappy when he heard that one of them was the "Aiden" who had bewitched his son and made him suspect Dar'Khan. If it weren't for seeing Uther's joint signature, he felt that he would definitely have the troops of the Ghostlands drive them out directly.

However, after all, he had fought alongside Uther, and he endured his anger and finished reading the letter.

"Dar'Khan went to rescue some Scourge remnants? Ridiculous!"

"The Scourge Legion has a plague that can infect hundreds of thousands of people? What does it have to do with us!"

"The Lich King wants to summon demons? Hmph, let you humans worry about it!"

"Demons are going to destroy the world? Can you make up a more interesting story?"

"High elves are facing a huge crisis? Nonsense!"

Anastarian angrily tore the letter into pieces and burned them to ashes with magic.

Dar'Khan died in front of him, and it was instigated by that human named Aiden!

He really couldn't swallow this breath. Now the other party is actually begging them to return to the Alliance to deal with an enemy they have never heard of. This is clearly using the high elves!

"Sylvanas," Anastarian stared angrily at the Ranger-General. Sylvanas was a little frightened under his gaze. She had never seen the king so angry.

"Please command, Your Majesty!"

"Drive these guys out of our forest! Remember, I don't want to see or hear of any Alliance people stepping into our territory again. Do you understand!" Anastarian almost roared.

"Yes, I'll go now!" Sylvanas quickly withdrew from the royal court. She didn't know what had stimulated the king. Could it be that the humans made a very unreasonable request in the letter?

She didn't dare to question the king's order and could only act according to it.

"How is it?" Danath, who was waiting outside, greeted her as soon as he saw her come out.

"It's terrible," Sylvanas said the king's order, and then looked at the ranger, "I hope that after you go back, you can explain the king's attitude to Vereesa. Humans must have made unreasonable demands on us. You can't help them so selflessly. It's best to summon them back immediately, do you understand?"

… …

Kael'thas found his father and said what he had been considering for a long time: "Father, I think I should go back to Dalaran. Dar'Khan's matter is too strange. I think I should go and see Aiden. He should be able to…"

"Enough!" Anastarian interrupted his son angrily. He had had enough of this name and didn't want to hear anyone mention it again, "From now on, forget the human world and stay in Quel'Thalas honestly. Don't take a step out! Don't even think about seeing that liar!"

In fact, Aiden was not just a liar in his heart. His labels also included more unbearable descriptions such as "charlatan", "conspirator", "instigator", "scheming", and "bastard".

Kael'thas stared blankly at his father: his eyes were red, his face was ferocious, as if he was in a rage. He had never interrupted his words so rudely and arbitrarily.

This was his father, but at this moment, Kael'thas felt him so strange.
