As I admire the simple yet amazing scenery, the calm dark blue ocean, the bright Grey moon that reflects its stunning light rays off the calm dark ocean water,
the pitch-black sky with hundreds, if not thousands, of bright stars.
Hearing the roars of lightning echo through the seemingly never-ending vast ocean, the aroma that forces itself into my nostril, the smell that a storm is coming.
A sight to behold, it may not be the most colorful but it's certainly amusing.
the calm but chilly winds blowing my back my hair, I took a deep breath, 'What is this place?' I questioned myself; this place seemed familiar... as if it was a part of me.
I felt as if a strange power ran through my body, starting from my abdomen and spreading out, I felt more energized.
The immense pressure dissipated from my abdomen; I felt relieved as if I had gotten the heavens lifted off me.
Gasping for air *gasp* taking deep breaths.
Thinking to myself, 'What was that sudden pressure?'.
It had felt as if a great boulder was set on me.
As my face was noticeably tired, I felt exhausted, but not physically.... but mentally. As if this is in my mind,
In a split second, all the stars in the sky started to vibrate, each second getting faster and faster and faster, merging into one as it expanded and dispersed.
Then the whole place went white as the lights engulfed the ocean and pitch black sky.
*knock knock knock*
As I hear Alan knocking on the bathroom door gently, "Hey, are you okay? You have been in there for quite some time..." Alan said with a preoccupied tone in his voice.
"OH, have I? I'm truly sorry; I was... just lost for a moment," I told him, reassuring him I was fine; in reality, I was confused as I was detached at the moment ...
Detached from the world for a minute.
"Don't sweat it, Ezio, I was just checking up on you." he paused and, after a brief moment, spoke again. "I left you clothes and a towel in front of the door; my mother is making pork chops, so hurry up. You don't want it to be cold; I promise" Alan answers with a friendly-charismatic tone.
"Thanks a lot because of you I feel a part of something, I'm sorry if I'm being a nuisance "
I spoke softly with a low-pitched tone while fidgeting with my fingers, noticeably happy.
"I told you NOT to worry about it. I don't know what you've been through, but with us, you are safe, so don't even start spouting that nonsense again," Alan said in a reassuring yet heavy demeanor.
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry-I'll be out in a second"
I agreed, letting out a small chuckle; Alan agreed and left to set the dinner table.
Getting out of the shower, I looked into the mirror.
Revealing my pale, soft skin, which was not seen due to the mud, my straight-wavy hair fell to my shoulders; at last, I seemed like a decent person.
With proper clothing made out of leather instead of rags.
And new leather boots, 'Now my bare feet won't scrape against the hot concrete anymore,' I had thought while looking down at my feet.
After contemplating and looking at myself for a minute, I decided to go to the kitchen, there it was, a smell that would even attract wild beasts, a rich meaty aroma with a scent of spices, as I smelt it I started drooling,
Everyone had a surprised look on their face, all looking directly at me.
"Wow, kiddo, you look different, like a completely new person; if I had seen you on the streets, I wouldn't have recognized you... if it weren't for those badass eyes!"
Exclaimed Bob in a joking manner
"Just a handsome little boy, now come sit darling the food will be cold, I can assure you WILL want seconds," says Freya as she lets out a loud laugh
We all started eating; every bite was amazing; it was juicy, tender, and full of flavor.
"Hey, Alan," asked Bob "Have you gotten your Academy invitation?".
As Alan looks up to Bob, "Yeah, I have. Ever since I went and took my affinity checked, I got handed a letter," Alan told his father.
"Well, that's fantastic, congratulations," Bob assured.
"What about you, Ezio? Have you gotten your affinity checked at the academy?" Freya asked as I had the fork in hand.
I shook my head. "No, I didn't... I hadn't known you could until now; I doubt I have the talent for it either way," I said quietly, feeling ashamed. My eyes softened.
"Well, that's unfortunate; you surely do have a chance, Do you possess any magic?"
Freya asks with a soft gentle tone.
"Well, I'm not sure... but I do know my parents did" I admitted
Suddenly Alan had an idea, as he stopped chewing and asked me a question.
"Have you not had any dreams?" Alan asked.
He explained how he had an Earth affinity; as his parents were also.
His "dream" was on the top of grand mountains with an enormous open green field.
As I was hearing what Alan had to say, something clicked within my brain.
"I had a similar experience," I told Alan,
Explaining to Alan what had happened in the shower.
"I dazed out, detaching from the world; I was in a calm dark ocean with a beautiful pitch black sky, with hundreds of bright shinning stars and a bright Grey moon with rays of light reflecting off the dark ocean water," I paused
"I also... felt a pressure in my abdomen, as it disappeared I felt something flowing through my entire body" I had said softly
As everyone shifted their attention to me, all turned in my direction.
"That seems odd... Maybe you have a rare mutation, but I can't think of anything...,' as Freya's mind goes blank.
"I wonder who your family is," Says Freya in an Intrigued tone.
'Well it's all for tonight' Says Bob
Freya looked at me, "You are more than welcome to stay if you want, I mean it"
She spoke softly, showing honesty and reassurance.
"I have to get back home, but thanks a lot, I deeply appreciate what you guys have done for me, a stranger," I said with a modest tone, giving a soft smile.
Freya and Bob look at each other, nodding very slightly, "You can come over whenever you like, just know that you are welcome anytime". Giving me a half smile.
"Yeah, of course, it was a blast having you here!" Alan had told me with a joyful expression on his face.
As I headed to the door, I thanked them all.
As I exited, I admired the beautiful homes.
Unlike Alan's house, mine was on the other side of the kingdom, the slopes, where a smelly place with houses poorly built. The opposite of the nice side of the kingdom.
I live with my father, well, if you can even call him that.
As I was arriving, I heard a man mumbling to himself, with one bottle of alcohol in each hand.
As I took a closer look, I finally realized.
It was my father.
As I mustered up the courage to confront my father, my head spun, my chest tightened, and so on I went.
His eyes spotted me a couple dozen feet from him under the poorly lit lamplights.
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!" *Hiccup* he screamed to the top of his lungs making his face fully red like that of a tomato.
Pointing the bottles towards me.
As he gets closer and closer.
The neighbors looked out their windows to see what the commotion was about.
But seeing my father, they went back in; it's normal; he always does these rants, especially when he is drunk.
"I- I was outside, Father." I was scared, my voice trembling, my eyes looking everywhere but at my father.
It went silent for a second.
His eyes looked up, his face full of confusion and rage.
"HUHH, WHERE DID YOU GET THOSE CLOTHES BOY!?,WEREN'T THE ONES I BOUGHT YOU GOOD ENOUGH? Hiccup
UNGRATEFUL LITTLE BRAT!"
he screamed, his voice breaking apart, smelling an alcohol stench from 3 feet away.
I ignored him, I went into our home, and I laid down on the concrete I had as a bed and an old dirty rag as a cover.
I cried myself to sleep; I felt helpless as if I would never get out of this. Closing my eyes, I fell asleep.
My father wasn't always like this, well that's what people had said.
He was a low-ranking soldier with an affinity for fire, making enough money to live comfortably, he had met my mom, Alvi a beautiful young woman, who had an affinity for wind magic, said to be the prettiest in the entire kingdom, they loved each other,
They used to be sweethearts, and everything was going just perfectly until she got pregnant.
She became ill ...
