Chapter 1 - Prologue

Missy's POV

They think I don't notice. The way the maids talk behind my back. The way the butlers sneer when they serve me last. Even the knights barely look at me. I'm just "the forgotten child," the one they whisper about, the one with no mother and no presence.

My father and siblings are rarely ever home, off chasing glory, titles, or perfection. I used to wait by the window for them to come back. But not anymore.

The only one who ever stayed by my side was Nanny. She brushed my hair every night and told me I was special. But… they took her away. They said she disobeyed the house. They blamed her for a mistake and made me watch her punishment.

That was the first time I broke.

I ran to the secret garden — our secret place — and I cried. Not loud. Not wild. Just quietly, because I didn't want the wind to carry my pain where it didn't matter.

That's when he appeared.

A boy with dark hair and purple eyes, sitting beside me like he belonged in every fairytale I never had. He didn't ask why I cried. He just looked at me and said,

"It's okay to be small. Even seeds grow into the tallest trees."

I didn't even think before I asked his name. And when he told me, I said something foolish.

"Will you marry me?"

I expected laughter or scolding. But instead, he said something I'll never forget:

"You're too weak right now. But if you become someone strong… someone important… then yes. I'll wait."

Something sparked in me that day — not just hope, but fire.

They all think I'm just a quiet girl in the corner. But I'll show them. I'll become someone powerful, someone they'll regret ignoring.

I may be small now.

But soon…I won't be your weak Missy.
