Chapter 9
Lorenzo's POV
"She's fine." I dropped her bag into her mother's hands as my bodyguard escorted her inside the house.
"Thank you so much," her mother kept bowing. "But why was she like that?" she asked, worry lining her voice.
I scratched the back of my head. "Em… she was drunk."
"Oh, okay. Thank you again."
"Let's go," I told the men.
"Sir, should we still head to Bella Club?" Niko, my head bodyguard, asked as we climbed into the car. "What's the time?"
"10:30."
"Let's go home. We'll reschedule the meeting. Tell Mr. Williams to reach out to them."
"Okay, sir."
I rested my head against the seat as the car moved.
The way she acted tonight almost made me lose control for a moment. But how did she get drugged? Who did this to her?
"Niko, check the club footage tomorrow. Between 7:30 and 9:00 pm," I ordered.
"Noted, sir."
I closed my eyes again. I didn't want to think about her tonight.
"Sir, we're here."
I stepped out and saw Noah standing by the door.
"Dad, are you okay?" he asked.
"Yes, I'm fine. Why are you standing here?"
"I was waiting for you." He hesitated. "I heard Sienna got drunk and you took her home. I wanted to ask… how is she?"
I glanced at him, forcing a smile. "She's fine. You don't need to worry."
I stepped inside.
I couldn't believe I almost slept with my son's fiancée. No matter how much I think about it, she's like a daughter to me. I must not cross that line.
I have to set my boundaries from now on, no matter what.

SIENNA'S POV
I stared at my reflection in the mirror. Ever since that night two days ago, I'd noticed how Lorenzo's behavior toward me had changed.
The day after, I went to apologize for not being myself. He just waved me off, told me it was okay and that I didn't need to come see him anymore. I should just focus on the wedding.
"Ahh." I ran my fingers through my hair. "Is he angry? Did I push too far?"
"Sienna," my mom's voice called from the door.
"Coming." I slipped on my flip-flops and walked to the living room where Juliet was sitting.
She rushed over when she saw me. "Sorry I haven't been able to come around. My mum just left today," she pouted.
"It's okay," I muttered.
"Are you okay?" She shook me lightly, concern written all over her face.
"I'm fine, Juliet," I sighed.
"I followed you the night you left," she said. "I saw you get into a limousine."
"Huh?" My body froze.
"I was stopped by some bodyguards before I could get closer. Who was that man you left with?"
"So, you didn't come closer?" I asked, trying to keep calm.
"Yes, they stopped me before I could even get close." She slumped onto the sofa.
"Ah…h," I said, fiddling with my clothes, a silly smile playing on my lips.
"What happened that night? And who was that man?" She pressed.
"It's nothing much." I tried to brush it off, but then my mum appeared behind me.
"What man?" she asked sharply.
"Ahh!!" Juliet and I jumped. "Mum, you scared me!" I said, holding my chest.
"What man?" she repeated.
"It was Lon… Don," I corrected myself quickly.
"London?" my mum asked.
"Don! The one who brought me home that night."
"Oh, Don." She walked away.
"Who's Don?" Juliet asked.
"My father's boss," I replied curtly, not wanting to say more.
"That means he's your father-in-law," she said.
"Juliet! Let's leave that for another time," I squealed.
"Okay, okay," she mumbled, leaning back on the sofa.
I sighed. I was exhausted. Lorenzo was cold to me, and the wedding was in two days.
I was told everything — the wedding dress, the preparations — were all taken care of. I expected that since I was being sacrificed.
I needed to learn how to love my husband, so I wouldn't be haunted by my father-in-law's dick.
Lord help me.
My phone jolted me out of my thoughts. The caller ID showed my dad.
"Hello, sir."
"Come to the Don's house by seven. The Don has something to say."
"Okay," I replied simply.
I looked at Juliet with a sad face. Her phone rang, and she mouthed that she was leaving. "Bye."
"Bye."
I walked to my room to change.
---
I stepped into the sitting room, heart pounding. At the dining table sat three men.
"Sienna, you're late," Noah said, pulling out a chair.
"Sorry. I couldn't get a taxi sooner," I said, settling into the seat.
I glanced first at my father, then Lorenzo, who was buried in his phone.
My heart sank. He didn't even acknowledge me.
"So, Sienna, your wedding will take place as planned in two days. After that, you will move to your husband's house—not this one, but his."
My stomach twisted.
Was he pushing me out already?
Was I really not worth his time?
Tears burned behind my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. If I cried here, they'd ask why. I had no answers.
Under the table, Noah held my hand, folding his palm over mine.
"If you understand, you may eat. Your preparations start tomorrow."
Throughout dinner, Lorenzo said nothing. I felt ashamed for loving an older man. I left as soon as I could.
Walking down the street barefoot, slippers in my hand, I felt the ache grow inside me.
The more I stayed away, the more I wanted him — not just his body or his lips — I wanted his attention, his hugs, his touch. I wanted all of him for myself.
But it was just a dream. A dream that could never come true.
"Fuck you, Lorenzo," I whispered.
Then I remembered Adrian. Maybe love just wasn't meant for me.
Lost in thought, I didn't see the speeding car coming straight at me.
I froze on the spot and shut my eyes, bracing for the worst.
To be continued…
