If he hadn't moved, those claws would've torn through most of his torso.
"Shiao!" Dominic shouted.
At the same moment, Shiao Yi slipped the needle gun into his palm and fired a sharp beam into the Doshaguma's eye.
The laser pierced straight through the eye socket, blasting a hole out the back of its skull.
As the Doshaguma reared back, frozen in pain, Dominic' flaming sword sliced clean through its neck, sending the beast's head tumbling to the ground.
'Why are you here?! It's dangerous—get back!' Domini'svoice rang clearly in his mind.
He moved quickly to stand in front of Shiao Yi, shielding him from the danger around them.
"I'll fight too."
As Shiao Yi stepped up beside Dominic, who turned in surprise, he activated his telekinesis.
He focused his mind and lifted ten of the massive magical beasts into the air. Higher and higher he raised them, well above the tallest trees of the forest. Then, with a sharp mental command, he hurled them down onto the creatures still on the ground. Both the ones dropped and the ones struck beneath were crushed by the impact, the blue blood splattering everywhere. The scene turned chaotic—so much so that it became hard to tell where one body ended and another began.
Using the same technique, he targeted more of theagical beasts that were approaching the fortress. He lifted them and slammed them down onto others still making their way through the trees.
Dominic, who had been staring at the display in stunned silence, finally spoke.
"Can you gathering the magical beasts into one area?"
"I'll try," Shiao Yi replied and focusing again.
He began pulling in the scattered monsters from all directions.
One after another, he hoisted them up and dropped them onto the same pile he'd already created, stacking them like fallen logs.
Some of them twisted and tried to crawl away, but most were quickly buried beneath the growing mound of broken bodies.
Before long, a towering hill of magical beasts had formed.
Dominic stood with his eyes narrowed, murmuring something under his breath as he focused.
A circle of glowing symbols appeared in the air before his raised hand.
"Flame Pillar."
With that single word, a pillar of crimson fire burst into the night.
The flames consumed the mountain of magical beasts, rising high into the darkness like a bonfire lit by the gods.
Shiao Yi stood there frozen, unable to look away.
What… what did he just do? Was that pyrokinesis?
But this wasn't like anything Shiao Yi had seen. It wasn't just a magical beast spontaneously igniting—this was far more powerful. It looked like the fire had come straight from Dominic himself.
"One strike, all gone," Dominic said with a satisfied nod.
Nearly a third of the forest within view was lost to the blaze, but the magical beasts were completely wiped out. Not a single one escaped the fire.
As the soldiers began to retreat, some helping their injured comrades back toward the fortress, Shiao Yi stood there, staring up at Dominic in awe.
The man watched over the scene with quiet strength, and all Shiao Yi could do was stand there and try to process what he had just seen.
