Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Jiang Country, Qingyun Sect

The white jade square shimmered with immortal light. Mist coiled over its surface like silk, thick with spiritual energy. Hundreds of boys and girls sat cross-legged in complete silence, unmoving.

Their eyes were shut tight, faces twisted with emotion.

Some looked furious. Others trembled with fear. A few smiled in bliss, while others sobbed without sound.

Suddenly—

"Hiss..."

A sharp breath broke the stillness. Lu Changsheng clutched his forehead as his eyes flew open, pain flickering across his face.

Inside his mind, memories surged like a flood, roaring through his consciousness.

And with them came clarity.

He had been reborn.

This was a world of swords, immortals, and ancient cultivation sects.

For eighteen years, he'd lived here—but his memories from Earth had remained sealed.

Until now.

During the fourth stage of Qingyun Sect's Immortal Sect assessment, the Trial of Heart, his past life's memories had reawakened.

Everything made sense now.

"Someone woke up already? That fast? Their Dao Heart must be extraordinary!"

A few examiners in Daoist robes looked up in surprise, murmuring among themselves.

The Trial of Heart tested one's inner will—their Dao Heart. It was rare for someone to break free of the illusion so quickly.

"Lu Changsheng, Ninth Grade Spiritual Root, eighteen years old... what a pity."

"He showed mediocre talent in the second trial, but this kind of Dao Heart is uncommon."

"Still, a Ninth Grade Root at his age? That's near useless. Even with such mental fortitude, the road ends early for him."

Lu Changsheng didn't hear their regretful evaluations.

His mind was still spinning—because along with his memories, a familiar golden screen had appeared.

The Multiple Blessings System.

Just like in countless novels, a transmigrator's system had finally kicked in.

And his... was different.

It didn't grant instant power.

It rewarded offspring.

The more children he had—and the more talented they were—the stronger he would become.

Not in abstract terms. The blessings were real. Tangible. Measurable.

System Function 1: Earn achievement rewards through fatherhood milestones.

System Function 2: Gain a portion of your children's talent and cultivation. The stronger your kids, the stronger you become.

Bonus: Descendants also provide benefits, though halved with each generation.

Lu Changsheng blinked.

This wasn't cultivation—this was a child-rearing simulator in disguise.

He could literally lie down and become an immortal patriarch if he built the right bloodline.

With this system, even his trash-tier Ninth Grade Root could be replaced... through strategic reproduction.

He grinned.

"Let's go full family-head mode."

The illusion shattered as more examinees groaned awake around him.

"Dad! Mom! Don't go!"

"I'm immortal! I made it!"

"No... it's not real... it's not real...!"

Cries echoed across the jade plaza as the Trial of Heart came to an end.

A few nearby turned to Lu Changsheng, surprised.

"You already woke up?"

"Yeah," he replied calmly.

Before him stood three boys and two girls—fellow Immortal Seedlings from the secular branch.

Hong Yi – 16, Eighth Grade Root, son of a marquis.

Han Lin – 15, Seventh Grade Root, blacksmith's son.

Li Feiyu – 18, Seventh Grade Root, vice-leader of the Crimson Whale Gang.

Xiao Xiyue – 15, Fourth Grade Root, daughter of a prestigious scholar.

Zhao Qingqing – 16, Sixth Grade Root, born to a physician.

They had bonded during their journey here, though only on the surface. Backgrounds and ambitions varied too greatly.

Only Li Feiyu had a real connection with him. They had traveled and sparred together—and she was no ordinary girl. As the Crimson Whale Gang leader's daughter and vice-leader herself, she was strong, cunning, and dangerous.

Of course, none of them knew his true identity.

He was from the Blue Lake Mountain Lu Family, a cultivation family. His real cultivation? Already at the fifth layer of the Qi Refining Stage.

He'd just kept it low-profile.

Now, as the names of those who passed were called out, tension built.

"Zhu San, Xiao Yuan, Han Lin... Xiao Xiyue, Zhao Qingqing..."

One after another, names echoed across the plaza.

Joy bloomed on the faces of those accepted. The rest were silent, bitter, defeated.

Li Feiyu frowned.

"That's it?"

Hong Yi's face paled. "How can I not be on the list...?"

His noble status meant nothing now. Even his bribes and connections had failed.

Meanwhile, Lu Changsheng let out a long breath.

He wasn't called.

And he was glad.

He had no need for the Qingyun Sect. With the system, his path was already set.

"Those not chosen, leave the sect grounds immediately."

The examiner waved his sleeve, and clouds of mist lifted the selected disciples into the sky.

The others—hundreds of them—could only watch in envy and sorrow.

"From this day on, we walk different paths..."

One boy choked up as the gates closed behind them. Without the sect, they would become Loose Cultivators, struggling for scraps.

Hong Yi sighed as he glanced one last time at the Immortal Mountain.

He had once dreamed of marrying Xiao Xiyue. Now, she was an Immortal Sect disciple, far beyond his reach.

Even Zhao Qingqing, whom he had barely acknowledged, had become someone he would now look up to.

Lu Changsheng, meanwhile, stared at the mountain and smiled.

The sect offered land, wealth, companions, and techniques—but he could acquire all of these on his own.

He just needed to return to Blue Lake Mountain.

The system had begun its accumulation phase. He needed resources. Wives. Children. Time.

He could get all three.

Just as the crowd descended the mountain path, a figure in green robes approached.

The man looked to be in his late thirties, his aura steady and sharp.

Facing the crowd, he cupped his hands and said clearly:

"Esteemed young friends, the Lu Family of Blue Lake Mountain is now recruiting twenty sons-in-law. Spiritual Vein lands, Cultivation Manuals, and wealth are all provided. Who's interested?"
