Light Yagami is imprisoned alongside Misa Amane, yet the killings continue. It's as if Light is a completely different person—he seems more alive, mmmm...
Perhaps Light isn't Kira after all. I don't know what this is, but there's a white door with my name engraved in red on it. Strangest of all, "System Alpha"—I have no knowledge of the government experimenting with anything like this. What's more, no one else can see it, only me... Could Kira have done this? Could they be non-human? Maybe Kira is behind that door, waiting for me to enter.
"Watari... can you see a white door with my name on it too?" I asked.
"No, Mr. L. I don't see any door. Could your lack of sleep be affecting you?" Watari replied.
"I don't think so. Well, first I'll ask Light about this. If he knows nothing, I'll enter the door. I want you to record everything from the moment I go in until I come out. And if I don't return... it means that door belongs to Kira," I said.
I walked over to where a speaker was set up so I could speak with Light, the potential Kira.
"Hey Light, I have a question for you," I said. "Do you know what 'System Alpha' is?"
"Ryuzaki, I have no idea what that means. Maybe it's a government experiment or something like that," Light answered. "Please, just release me. Kira is surely still out there, continuing the killings."
"You're not wrong, Light. Kira hasn't done anything in the days since you've been imprisoned," I told him—though it was a lie. The killings had continued for 13 days after his arrest.
It seems the answer lies behind that door... if it's not an illusion.
After finishing my conversation with Light, I headed to a room to eat some sweets.
If it's not an illusion or a government experiment, then the only possibility is something beyond reason—just like Kira. The answer must be there. If there's someone inside, there's a 99% chance it's Kira. But I still can't rule out Light. He might have pulled some trick to deceive us and make me see this.
There's no other choice. I'll have to enter and find out for myself.

I stood up and walked toward the door, bringing a weapon just in case something dangerous awaited...
As soon as I felt the cold metal of the doorknob and pushed it open, a blinding white light flooded my vision. For a moment, I thought I might have lost my sight, but after a while, my pupils adjusted. Standing before me was... a teenager, about 16 years old, with brown hair and eyes that seemed utterly devoid of emotion. When he saw me, he rose from where he was sitting and began approaching. Reflexively, I reached for my weapon—but it was gone...
"Looking for this?" the brown-haired boy said, holding up the gun in his hand.
"How did y—" I started, but he cut me off.
"You took too long recovering from the light, so I took the chance to inspect you quickly. That light can knock you out for minutes if you're not strong enough," he said.
"Are you... Kira?" I asked bluntly.
"Kira?" he replied. "What's that?"
Then, a voice echoed in my skull:
*Participant 02—L Lawliet*
For a moment, I was alarmed. That voice knew the secret of my real name...
"Lawliet," the boy said. "So that's your name, huh? Well, it's nice to meet you. From now on, we'll be allies. My name is Kaito Fujimoto."
"Alright, then what's this about? If I'm Participant 02, you must be 01. Do you know how many of us there will be in total?" I asked.
"Yes, there will be four of us," he answered. "When the others arrive, I'll explain everything. After all, we all share the same goal."
"Yeah, it seems so... Kira—oh, I mean, Kaito," I said.
"Look, I found this during my time here," he said, showing me a watch with a date:
February 26, 9:30 A.M...After that, he didn't say another word and remained seated cross-legged, waiting for the remaining two...
I tried to check the air, but to my surprise, there seemed to be no wind. I also attempted to move as far away as possible, but when it seemed I was distant, I returned to the same point where I had entered. I noticed a distorted clock there, yet it showed the same time Kaito had shown me. Resigned, I crouched down to wait for Kaito's explanation while eating a small cake I had saved—apparently, Kaito hadn't taken that from me.
