Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 – Dragon Balls

Eighteen years passed in the blink of an eye.

Inside a training arena within the textile factory, Smith Dole faced off against six opponents: Mr. X, Cross, The Butcher, The Mechanic, The Gunsmith, and Pestkiller. Surrounded by their coordinated assault, he felt not the slightest trace of panic.

Had this been even a day earlier, facing these six would've meant certain defeat—after all, he was merely a trained human. But today, he felt no fear.

With both hands shaped into claws and his body lowered, Smith suddenly lunged forward.

"Rouga Fufuuken! (Wolf Fang Gale Fist!)"

Startled by his speed, Mr. X and Cross immediately activated their bullet-time abilities.

Bullet-time didn't just enhance aiming—it was extremely effective in close combat as well.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

In the next instant, it was as if a ravenous wolf had torn through them all. Every member of the group was sent flying—even X and Cross, despite their bullet-time, were taken out in a flash.

Watching the scene unfold, Fox stood to the side in awe.

"Oh my god, Smith, you're so powerful!"

Beside her, Wesley cried out:

"Unbelievable! GOD is too strong!"

Looking at the six fallen warriors, Smith smiled and said calmly:

"Uncles, I think there's no need to continue this sparring match."

The Butcher sat up, rubbing a bruised spot on his side. If it weren't for his bulk, he figured several of his ribs might've snapped.

Breathing heavily, he said:

"Smith… looks like we won't be sparring again anytime soon."

"At least when it comes to martial arts, there's nothing more to teach you."

The others sat up one by one, each waving a hand:

"You win."

"We admit it. As GOD, you've passed the test of combat."

Smith grinned. His overwhelming victory today was thanks to a very recent development—the successful activation of his system just two days prior.

Truth be told, Smith Dole wasn't originally from this universe. His real name had been Feng Yi, a perfectly ordinary human from Earth. Before crossing over, he'd been playing the mobile game Dragon Ball Fierce Battle. After staying up all night grinding the game, he plugged in his phone next to his pillow and fell asleep… and somehow woke up in a world that fused Marvel and other American comics.

He knew it was the Marvel Universe, not the Wanted universe, because he had seen Captain America's exhibit in a museum, as well as the roaring commando displays and even a massive Stark Industries advertisement in Times Square.

Still, the events of Wanted seemed to have changed beyond recognition. There was no African-American leader Sloan. Cross's son hadn't been sent off to live a normal life—he remained part of the Brotherhood.

The Dragon Ball Fierce Battle game became his golden cheat, his kinteki. Unfortunately, until his 18th birthday, the system remained in a constant "loading" state. But under the Brotherhood's care, he had still gained considerable skill.

He learned wax bath creation from the Apothecary, curved-bullet shooting from the Gunsmith, martial arts from the Mechanic, blade techniques capable of slicing bullets from the Butcher, and explosive rat bombs from Pestkiller. The only thing he failed to learn was bullet-time from X and Cross—due to lack of bloodline compatibility.

He had gained much over the past 18 years. Wesley and Fox had become his closest friends, growing up alongside him. He had even participated in missions, spending time as a child assassin.

But on his 18th birthday, the system finally finished loading and presented him with a surprise. At the very least, he now had the means to resist when the Snap came.

The system's abilities, however, were quite different from the game.

Once inside, all the flashy menus disappeared, leaving only three functions—or rather, three wishes:

Item Wish Lottery

Character Wish Lottery

Companion Wish Lottery

Plus, an inventory.

The system explained: none of the wish functions required money or summon scrolls. However, there was a rule—once he used any of them for the first time, the seven Dragon Balls that had surrounded him at birth would be activated. Only once a wish using the Dragon Balls had been successfully made could he use the lotteries again.

Unfortunately, the Dragon Balls had scattered across the globe the moment he was born—right now, he didn't have a single one.

Put simply, the Dragon Balls had a one-year cooldown. After a successful wish, whoever gathered them could make a wish to Shenron, and Smith would earn three limited draws.

The power of Shenron's wish-granting ability was linked to Smith's own strength. The stronger he became, the stronger Shenron's power would be—capable of fulfilling even greater wishes. With time, the Dragon Balls would evolve from standard Earth Balls to Namekian Balls, Red Star Evil Balls, and eventually even Super Dragon Balls capable of crossing universes.

With all this in mind, Smith felt like a blend between Kami-sama (the Dragon Ball Earth Guardian) and the Grand Elder of Namek. Without hesitation, he used all three initial wish lotteries.

Inside the system interface, Smith activated the Item Wish Lottery first. A projection of himself appeared below, with a miniature celestial body hovering above, brimming with various items.

Peering into it, he saw:

Saiyan Space Pod

Namekian Ship

Super Holy Water

Dragon Radar

Combat Armor Gen-1

Combat Armor Gen-2

One Capsule

A Box of Capsules

Power Scouter

Gravity Chamber

Senzu Beans

...and more.

Some items appeared only as glowing dots—he couldn't see what they were.

As he initiated the draw, the image of himself fired a Kamehameha at the celestial body, striking one of the glowing dots.

Congratulations, Smith Dole has received: Power Scouter (Gen-2)!

Smith was a little disappointed—not a Senzu Bean or combat armor. A bean was a literal extra life, and the armor would've outclassed any bulletproof vest.

Still, the scouter wasn't useless—it had always been a dream of his in his previous life.

Next, he activated the Character Wish Lottery. Within the glowing orbs, he spotted:

Kid Gokuu

Kid Kuririn (pre-training)

Bulma

Tenshinhan

Chaozu

Yamcha

Kid Chi-Chi

Ox-King

Nam

Kamesennin

Launch

...mostly early Dragon Ball characters.

A Kamehameha later, the lottery result appeared.

Congratulations, Smith Dole has received: Yamcha!

The Yamcha card showed the desert bandit version—pre-Kamesennin training, armed with a sword.

Skills: Rouga Ken (Wolf Fang Fist), Rouga Fufuuken (Wolf Fang Gale Fist)

Using the character card granted him Yamcha's bloodline and abilities.

The third and final draw was the Companion Wish Lottery, also mostly early DB characters:

Puar, Oolong, Turtle, The King, Upa, Ox-King, Bulla, Android 8...

Received Battle Companion: Puar!

Puar's Abilities: Blade Slash, Puar's Assistance

Smith checked the companion stats—just like in the game. The bonus: companions could manifest in the real world. If he recruited healers later, they could be of immense help.

With his three initial wishes complete, the seven Dragon Balls scattered across the globe reverted from stone to their glowing original forms.
