By the time Ian returned to the capital, spring had already kissed the land with its warm embrace.
Half a year had passed since the revolution, yet the atmosphere within the nation’s borders remained unsettled. When the leader of the revolutionary party failed to properly take control, factionalism emerged only months after the new government was established. This resulted in countless soldiers deserting the revolutionaries and seemingly endless infighting.
“Not that it matters. Whether the revolutionaries fail or not, the aristocrats will never be restored to power,” the man across the table from him commented.
Ian only took a swig of his drink in reply.
