Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Construction

Heh, I looked at my brother sitting in the corner obediently, looking at me with puppy eyes. Hmm, he is a cute and lovable pet, but if he gets stupid I might kill him myself. Oh well, at least he would be dying by my hands.

I picked up a random book and started reading again. It was talking about how different kinds of tools, artifacts, houses, and so on are made. It's as simple as construction but a little bit of a hassle. For example, just to build those moving stairs in the house, we need wood, and then to sustain their structure and make them move is done by integrating the concepts of forward motion, loop, and infinity—which are used to make something's lifespan longer. These concepts feed on energy that exists everywhere in the world, known as enclaws.

This work is mostly done by concept transformation cultivators. So, in simple words, it is construction—but on a conceptual level. I think it would be much harder than normal construction on Earth. Maybe the civilization of this world has progressed enough to make houses or tools with extended lifespans, completely eradicating the need for constant rebuilding. Oh, that's useful.

This world is really strange. Here, a cat may become human, and a human may lay an egg, depending on their desire. Meaning, if you don't match the emotional state of a weapon, you will not be able to use.a weapon using love and destruction may become more stronger in both people hands one who loves destruction and one who loves something else but it is stronger then first one.

Here's an interesting use of concept: a person made a bed using the equation "sleep = fear × time × multiply." So basically, anyone who sleeps on the bed will feel fear, and it will increase as time goes on. Heh.

Wait—I forgot about the Oldman while exploring the world. He didn't do anything when I asked about the inheritance from that woman, meaning he already calculated that he would be in trouble if he did something. So everything he did was to decrease the impact of backlash from his scheme being exposed. It really reveals this world more—that he really is a million years old.

He may not do anything to me in the open, even if I beat him up, because even if I get one scratch, everyone will use it against him to eliminate him. But that doesn't mean he will not do anything underhanded. He will act at nighttime. So, let me just read.

There are also different kinds of weapons—some like strength × sharpness, meaning a sword may become sharper if more strength is used.

A simple example of conceptual construction is the piece of land we use for travel. It is floating, and "moving = will," so a person with decent willpower can command it.

I see. Let's first create a trap for Oldman.

I got up and walked out of the library toward a random room and opened its door. It had a big machine—something that maybe creates things. I tried to see it from the sides. It was a big metal box, bigger than me: 3 meters in length, 2 meters in width, and 3 meters in height. It had a hole on the side—a square 1 meter in length, 2 meters in width, and 2.9 meters in height.

Heh, it looks like something used to create things. From the looks of it, it should be like a printer or something.

I started to look for something about it in the room and finally got a 1-inch thick book with its image. I opened it, and half of it was filled with information on how it was made. It had thousands of concepts connected and layered in chains—and then it is created.

Ohhh, that's why Oldman wants the inheritance. Am I lucky? I don't think people or clans or sects or families have this. And its name is "Natural Itemized." It is used to create tools and things—stuff—from concepts. It basically uses the enclaws everywhere to code and create things from it.

I read its author's name and it was Fledé Folkin. Oh ho ho ho—what a useful father, hehe.

I started to learn how different kinds of concepts and so on can create different things. I called my brother with a loud voice and he came running like I was going to give him candy.

I said, "Sit beside me and read this." He nodded and did as I said.

I am going to create a shock gun that paralyzes the person. Then that bed—but with extra things. I can give nightmares to the sleeper. I can control and torture the sleeper from his dream as I want and see it through a screen—a computer with a bed. And I'm going to make a sleeping potion. I'm gonna do many experiments with Oldman. Ohhhh, it will be fun. I never tortured someone before, hehe.

He's also too bland for my taste. My past, only 18-year-old life has more character development than his million-year life, so why not add some by torturing him? Hahaha.

Hmm, I looked at my brother. Looks like he's in pain from some past trauma.

"Big brother, tell me what happened," I looked at him.

But he just looked down, and I put my hands on both his shoulders and shook him a little.

"Tell me what happened. Don't worry, I'm here," I said with concern—which I didn't feel. It's enjoyable.

He started to cry. Tears from his eyes dropped on the floor. Eh.

Then he described how our parents fought each other when he was a kid, and he was always beaten. But he also told me this conflict made them kill each other—mother—and made them targets for prison, then execution. He said they didn't really fight, but grandpa came to meet them, trying to ease their fights, but they fought more. He was mostly the target. Also, before that, he was insulted because of his intelligence by them.

What trauma you got there. I don't know what it is compared to mine, but that one gave me an existential crisis. Whatever.

I comforted, "Don't worry. They are gone. I am with you, okay? You are a good obedient boy." I said and kissed his cheek.

Hmm, I love him because he looks like me. Does my self-love go that far?

And I want to kill him because I am dissatisfied with his intelligence. But I will love it if he willingly becomes my puppet. Hehehe.

[A/N:I would like it if you share your thoughts with me thanks]
