Chapter 6: "I agree".
Flora ignored Maxson and say goodbye to Michael. She quickly departed from them. "Sister in law, why you ignoring me? Are you looking for my brother Scott?" When she heard him, she looked back at him and gave him a warning look.
"What? Did I say anything wrong? Why is everybody finding fault in me? Maxson asked himself loudly. Second brother where are you going to, I need your help with something please".
"How may I help you Maxson? Hope it isn't that you have caused another problem at home". Michael replied him as he was about to enter his car.
"Emmmmmm, he freezed all my accounts and I don't know if I can see up to 600,000 dollars from you. I'll definitely return it with interest, I promise ".
"For you to use the money to run away and cause another problem? Maxson, think about your family, they really love you but you aren't repaying the love back in the right way. As for me, I have nothing to give you ".
Micheal car zoomed off after he spoke. Maxson faced turned vinegar red from everything his brother had put him into.
Flora just realized she was around Scott's company. The huge company with a long and luxurious structure stood before her eyes, with a bold name written on it, Silver Sky Group. She then remembered she came for a business purpose in his company. Morever, she isn't seeing him, she needed to go to the entertainment reporting department.
She worked in and met the receptionist. "Good afternoon, I have an appointment with the entertainment reporting department of this company and I am here to see the head of the department".
"Good afternoon, can you hold on for some seconds so I can contact them". Surprisingly, each department in the Sky Silver Group has its own secretary and receptionist on each floor. The first floor down is the general receptionist in the company".
After few seconds, someone came down to pick her. She was led into a big comfortable office. "You can have your seat, you are welcome. Have heard a lot about you on how perfect you are at your work. I am looking forward to having a successful partnership with you".
"Thanks so much Mr Dylan. I will never disappoint you". Flora replied elegantly. She loved their hospitality here.
"Okay then, let's move to the project discussion. What are your thoughts about it?"
They discussed for hours and by the time they were done, it was already 5:00pm in the evening. My Dylan also commented on her beauty during their discussion.
Scott's assistant, Joel, had informed him about Flora's presence in the company. Since then, he has been monitoring the CCTV footage on his screen in his office. He was completely lost looking at her until when Joel called out to him.
"Boss! Boss!". Scott frowned without looking at his assistant. "Make sure what you are calling me for is meaningful".
"Emmm, Miss Ryain Flora is leaving the company already, I wanted to inform you about it". Joel panicked feeling the cold aura from his boss.
"I know". Scott replied coldly and reluctantly massaging his temple. He stood up from his seat and put on his jacket. "I'll be leaving now, prepare everything for tomorrow's meeting". He said leaving without waiting for Joel's response.
"Sure, I will Sir". Joel answered quickly, he was surprised his boss was leaving work by this time of the day. The boss he knew is a workaholic, what could have happened? He wondered.
"Was he monitoring Miss Flora since she has been in their company? No no no, my boss is on love? Joel laughed and left the office.
As Flora left Mr Dylan, she met someone she had least expected to see on her way. It was no other than Scott. What was she thinking? This is his company after all?
"Good evening Miss Flora, seems you are heading home. You don't mind giving you a ride?"
"Good evening Mr Silver Scott, you don't have to bother yourself. I'll be hailing a cab now. Thanks ".
"Come in, you don't have to be stubborn ". Suddenly, Scott's driver drove over to where they were. Scott opened the car door for Flora to get in.
After almost an hour, she got down from the car and Scott reminded her of something she had thought he wouldn't bring up. "Haven't gotten any reply from you yet, two days more you know. I would be patiently waiting. Goodnight".
Flora didn't respond, she just bowed, showing a sign of gratitude for the ride. When she got home, she was lost in thought about the marriage proposal. She thought about how she could get back all the things which belong to her. Her parent had left some properties for her before they died, but all was seized by her wicked step mother. She doesn't have any power to trample on her or get back everything belonging to her. She knew she needed someone powerful to back her up.
Since she had left Broe, his mother had been helping Cyelene and Presch financially. They are also trying to matchmake them.
She thought of everything that night and concluded that she would agree to the marriage contract. After all, no one has anything to loose, they both benefit from the marriage and it just for some time, it will end one day.
The next morning, while Flora was working inside her office at work. She got a call from her manager, Mr William. She hurriedly left and knocked on his door while he told her to come in.
"How are you doing Flora? I am very impressed with your presentation yesterday. It was really nice and it paved way for other departments to receive good accolades from the CEO, everyone is really happy, weldone".
"Oh, thanks so much sir, I just did the work the way I ought to. I really appreciate you for the privilege ".
"It fine. If you continued to do your work dedicatedly, you would be getting a promotion soon ". Mr William smiled and said. "Wow, thanks so much sir ". Flora replied happily. "You don't need to thank me, you should thank the CEO, seems you both are really close".
"Huh? Oh okay Sir, I will". Flora took her leave and went back to her office. Just when she sat down on her seat, a message notification popped on her phone. She took her phone and checked out who had sent the message. She found out it was from a contact she doesn't have on her phone. She opened the message and it read "Good morning Miss Flora, tomorrow is the last day. I am still expecting your response. Have a nice day"
Huh? How did he get my contact? Oh, he is the most powerful young man in City B, what can't he have? She was lost in thought for some minutes before she replied back. "Good morning Mr Silver, I agree".
Scott who was in his office sitting on a large sofa chair, saw the response from Flora and immediately, a smile formed on his face. Joel who just came in was so surprised to see his boss smiling to himself.
"Sir!Sir!". He called out to his boss. Scott raised up his head with a frown and threw a glance at him, meaning "What is it?". "I have been standing and knocking for a while you didn't respond, that was why I came in.
Scott stretched out his hand and Joel placed some documents in his hand. "Is everything complete?" A mysterious tone sounded. "Yes Sir".
"Then you can leave, I'll be leaving the company early today. Make sure I don't remind you".
"Okay Sir". Scott took his phone and typed "Let's meet today by 3pm, I'll come pick you up at your workplace. We would go to the marriage bureau to register our marriage. All other things, you don't need to bother, I'll take care of them.
As soon as Flora saw this, she panicked. "Why would he want to come over and pick me up from here?". She immediately typed back. "No need to come pick me up, I'll meet you there.
Hours fly, she didn't get any response from him again. She sighed and continued her work.
