Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: The Veil Opens

The Department of Mysteries was never meant to be a battlefield.

It was built as a place of silence, of study, of boundaries too ancient for question.

But when the Veil of Death began to ripple—

When it screamed—

Every Unspeakable fled.

And the Ministry declared:

"We are no longer in control."

Only one name was whispered through the fires of magical panic:

Aarav Gaunt.

The ancient black hall was trembling.

Wards cracked.

Runes flickered.

The circular corridor spun wildly, doors blinking in and out of existence.

Aarav, Hermione, and Wanda arrived via a Timefolded Portal. Snape remained unconscious at Hogwarts, his soul stabilizing under Dumbledore's care.

Awaiting them were:

Kingsley Shacklebolt, wand drawn, cloak torn.

Luna Lovegood, calm, eerily serene, holding a crystal that pulsed with Veil energy.

Two Marvel agents from the Sorcerer's Guild, sent by Wong.

"It's opening," Luna said simply. "And something inside is alive now."

The great stone arch stood in the center of the Death Chamber.

Its ancient curtain—once faintly whispering—now rippled like liquid.

Then—

It split.

Not from the top or sides.

From the middle.

Like an eye blinking open.

And what stared back was not Death.

It was Unmagic.

They were not spirits.

They were Voidshades—creatures made of broken timelines, forgotten memories, failed spells.

Twisted Aurors. Inverted children. Echoes of "what could have been."

The first three stepped through.

One had Harry's face, but Voldemort's laughter.

One was Dobby—giant-sized, skeletal, chanting curses in reverse.

One looked like Aarav himself—bleeding backward in time.

Aarav stood at the center of the room, activating Threadbind, casting massive runic seals across the walls.

Wanda created chaos spheres, collapsing incoming Voidshades into pure potential.

Hermione held the veil back with Reverse-Energy Runes while Luna wept tears of starlight to weaken the breach.

"You can't kill them," Aarav shouted.

"They're not alive. You have to undo them!"

From the veil stepped a perfect copy.

His eyes were mirrors.

His wand was a bone of unknown origin.

He spoke in reversed language—a cursed dialect of the Root.

But Aarav understood.

"You chose to bind fate," Void-Aarav hissed.

"I chose to cut it. One of us will decide what reality becomes."

They dueled.

Magic ripped the chamber apart.

Aarav cast Spell Echo > Protego Totalum > Azkashal Reflection.

Void-Aarav cast Unname > Severance Spiral > Reality Burn.

Wanda and Luna held the edges together.

Hermione screamed:

"CAST THE FIELD, NOW!"

Aarav planted his palm against the Veil.

And whispered:

"By the Tree, by the Crown, by every timeline I hold together—

I seal this path."

He activated Spell-Reversal Field.

The air folded inward.

Void-Aarav shattered like glass.

The Veil closed, roaring, weeping, begging.

And then…

Silence.

Luna walked to the center.

She placed a single feather on the stone and whispered:

"He's not done, you know.

The one before death.

The one who taught it how to end things."

She looked at Aarav with sad, ancient eyes.

"The first voidgod is waking."

And Aarav understood.

All this had been the prelude.

Now, the true war for existence would begin.
