To be honest I forgot I had other abilities which is really embarrassing, so I went about finding the activation triggers and getting a basic feel of the powers.
So far I've got the claws, bones and healing of Wolverine along with the teleportation of Nightcrawler and lastly and the one I'm most excited for, with a flick of my wrist the glowing playing card is flung at stupid speeds at a rock not far from me and when the card smacks into the rock it detonates with enough force that the aforementioned rock is reduced to powder.
"The names Gambit mon ami" Gambit's ability to embark kinetic energy into objects to basically turn said objects into a bomb with a yield relative to the amount of kinetic energy the object is injected with.
What is different about my one is the ability to imbue myself with kinetic energy without becoming a human bomb like X-man 97 gambit instead it's almost like mana burst from fate.
"Ok so what now?" Really I only planed to wonder about but ending up in a skag den has dissuaded me from repeats of such actions, then I remember that I have that echo device to check where I am and where I need to be.
I open the map function after having to fight the damn thing to get it to format into a way I understand and am both angry and disappointed in myself when I realise that the gas station from the start of the game is not even a kilometre in the opposite direction then the one I chose last time.
With the disappointment of a dad who was forced to ask for directions I start my trek to the place the game begins, and as I begin walking I pull out the deck of cards and start shuffling them while doing some tricks I definitely couldn't do before.
When I arrived at the gass station I noticed that other than a quick change station it looked as if the whole place was unpowered and abandoned for quite a while so I meandered my way over to the aforementioned quick change to see if I could use it.
Luckily I could and even had some other outfits loaded up in it, the outfits were mainly the different costumes the original uses of my powers wore along with my current outfit which was the fit he wore in X-Men origins wolverine with the leather jacket.
I messed with the colours after making sure to remember the original colours for about an hour before deciding to continue fucking around with the cards in more and more elaborate tricks and throws making sure to not charge the cards to not make a mess.
(Line break)
It was about 4 more hours of playing with my cards that the first interesting thing happened with the arrival of claptrap in the only possible way the annoying bastard would possible ever arrive in, a crash of a nice looking technical into a powerline across the street hard enough to kick the power of the station back online (somehow?).
So with a grimace of having to personally experience the robot myself I got up off the cadaver of what was once possibly a vehicle but is now an offence to my eyes.
"Aaaaah somebody help I can't feel my legs" there was a pause as if he was thinking for a moment "oh wait I never had the ability to feel my legs, or legs in general" it took me a moment to peruse the sheer enormity of the stupidity displayed in that single sentence.
I walked over to the hunk of a crashed car and gripped the door tightly and pushing kinetic energy into my muscles as I yank the door open, but I seemed to use to much energy as the door comes clean off its hinges and is launched behind me into the natural arch over that gas station with a resounding boom.
Noting that I should use less strength and that my arm currently looks like Izuku's in season one after the zero pointer, I grab the current begging for his life robot and pull him out of the trash heap that was once a car.
"Please don't kill me I'll tell you what ever you want to know, like did you know the plastic but at the end of a shoelace is called an aglet" I drop the moron on the floor and walk back over to the station to wait for the other vault hunters (if they arrive at all) ignoring the babiling tin can.
(Line break)
So there I sat playing with my cards as the bot continued shifting from babbiling at me in what I think is a one sided conversation (it's been hours since I even spoke to him to ask if there were other vault hunters coming) and telling me that as his minion I was obligated to do as he says and that I need to go fetch him 139,377 brown rocks (yes that exact number).
But as I got closer to deciding to see if I could charge the bot with Gambit I noticed The Bus arriving in the distance so I sat up (kicking claptrap to make his notice) and walked closer to the group that stepped off.
"Hey you guys must be the new recruits, I am a C-"I stop paying the bot any mind as I look over the new vault hunters, on the right was the robotic beast master himself Fl4k and the bot's gaggle of monsters while to his left was the operative Zane Flint. On the other side of claptrap were the two female vault hunters Amara and Moze currently looking like they were reconsidering if joining was a good idea or not.
I smacked the bot over its head when he started his normal bullshit and took over, "g'day, names Gabriel and the job's simple, we need to get to a bandit camp nearby and clear the place so the leader of the crimson Raiders can find the info she needs about a missing vault key" the sounds of offence coming from claptrap were ignored infavor of Moze speaking up.
"thank you for not subjecting us to the torture that listening to the moronic example of defective tech would be" I nod and turn to start walking as I speak.
"The camp is run by a phycho named shiv, but before we confront the bloke we'll meet the Firehawk. The place isn't far from here so keep up" and with my peace said I start making my way to Covenant Pass
